We aimed to develop an item bank of computerized adaptive testing for eating disorders (CAT-ED) in Chinese university students to increase measurement precision and improve test efficiency. A total of 1,025 Chinese undergraduate respondents answered a series of questions about eating disorders in a paper-pencil test. A total of 133 items from four well-validated Chinese-version scales of eating disorders were used to construct the item bank of CAT-ED with the following analysis. First, unidimensionality, model fit, local independence, item fit, discrimination and differential item functioning (DIF) were tested. Then, two simulation studies were applied to test the CAT-ED's effectivity and rationality by calculating concurrent criterion-related validity, sensitivity and specificity. The final item bank comprised 77 items, which met the requirements of local independence, item fit, high discrimination and no differential item functioning in CAT. The mean number of administered items in CAT with the stopping rule fixed at SE [less than or equal to] 0.3 was 11 items. The obtained results showed that CAT-ED had acceptable reliability, validity, sensitivity and specificity.

This study examines the widespread practice of upstream tailings dam construction in metallurgical mines in China, conducting comprehensive testing and research on tailings from various depositional zones of the Caijiagou tailings pond. Analysis of the test results from three types of tailings reveals a systematic relationship between the mechanical characteristics of tailings and their depositional zones: the farther from the dam, the finer the tailings particles, categorized as silty clay tailing, silt tailing, and sandy silt tailing. Consistent patterns were observed in the consolidated-drained shear strength and consolidated-undrained effective shear strength of these tailings. Among these, sandy silt tailing exhibited the highest strength, whereas silty clay tailing displayed the lowest. The dynamic stress–strain relationships of all three tailings types are described using the Hardin equivalent viscous-elastic model, where the initial dynamic shear modulus and the maximum dynamic shear stress in the model increased with effective confining pressure. The damping ratios exhibited a three-stage trend with increasing dynamic strain: gradual increase, rapid growth, and then gradual stabilization. Under various consolidated stress conditions, the ratio of the damping ratio to the maximum damping ratio versus the reduction in dynamic shear modulus showed a favorable linear relationship. Under vibration conditions, the dynamic shear stress corresponding to tailings failure increased with higher effective confining pressure and consolidated stress ratio. Finally, this study summarizes the parameters and indicators related to the saturated tailings of iron mines used in the research. The formation of peer attachment is vitally important for the mental health of adolescents. Additionally, converging evidences show that childhood emotional trauma leads to poor peer attachment during adolescence. However, little is known about the underlying mechanism accounting for the link between early emotional trauma and adolescent peer attachment. Therefore, the present study is intended to examine the relationship between childhood psychological maltreatment (CPM) and peer attachment among Chinese adolescents and reveal its underlying mechanism. In total, we collected data from 670 adolescents (36.5% males and 63.5% females, M age = 16.44 years, SD = 0.78) attending two Chinese high schools. These participants completed measurement scales for CPM (emotional abuse and neglect), peer attachment, and emotion regulation strategies, including cognitive reappraisal (CR) and expressive suppression (ES). The multiple mediation models showed that emotional neglect negatively predicted adolescent peer attachment but that emotional abuse did not. Furthermore, the two emotion regulation strategies, CR and ES, completely mediated the relationship between emotional abuse and peer attachment and partially mediated the relationship between emotional neglect and peer attachment. These findings extend the existing studies on adolescent peer attachment and elucidate how childhood emotional trauma negatively influences adolescent peer attachment. In addition, the present results provide implications for improving the peer attachment of adolescents. On one hand, appropriate family intervention should be implemented to reduce CPM. On the other hand, schools can focus on improving the peer attachment of adolescents by enhancing their emotion regulation. With the development of ultrahigh voltage transmission line construction in northwest China, an increasing number of overhead transmission lines are crossing the loess regions. Ensuring the stability of electricity transmission towers and mitigating the risk of collapse are crucial prerequisites for the construction of transmission lines. Taking the 750 kV demonstration electricity transmission line in Guanting–Lanzhou East as an example, representative loess samples were selected for compression and collapsing sensitivity tests. Four foundation treatment schemes were designed, and the wetting deformation characteristics were investigated through numerical simulation of the rainfall infiltration process. Corresponding optimisation schemes were proposed. The collapsing process was divided into four stages through laboratory collapsing tests. The relationship function between saturation and the Duncan–Chang model parameters of loess was established, which was introduced into the finite element model to consider the rainfall infiltration process. The analysis of the displacement field, and loess saturation field with time after rainfall infiltration for the four schemes showed that adding a lime-stabilised soil cushion layer and waterproof layer to the inclined column foundation had the best effect. Given that the design scheme needs to consider safety and economy, the thickness of the cushion layer was optimised, thereby reducing the use of lime-stabilised soil by 20%. Channel confluences are common in urban rivers and caused complex hydrodynamic conditions in the downstream section, significantly influencing the distribution of pollutants and the microbial community. So far, the principles of bacterial community assembly and their linkages with environmental factors are poorly understood. In the present study, the hydrodynamic and pollution conditions were investigated in a typical channel confluence of an urban river in the Yangtze River delta area, China, and their impacts on the bacterial community structure in the water and sediment were characterized using 16S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing technology. Based on the results, the flow velocity was the crucial factor influencing the dispersal of nutrients, organic compounds, and bacterial communities in the river water. Moreover, the sediments exhibited higher α-diversity and bacterial richness for nitrogen and sulfur cycling than the water. In addition to flow velocity, the contents of total organic carbon, total phosphorus, and heavy metals determined the sediment bacterial communities at varying depths. The predictive analysis of functional gene category indicated differences between the water and sediment communities in metabolic potentials and pathogen risk and provided guidance for water pollution control and the eco-remediation of urban rivers. Traditional fermented products and human intestines are rich sources of Lactobacillus strains which may have remarkable probiotic properties. In the present study, the probiotic properties of 40 Lactobacillus strains isolated from intestinal tracts of longevity population and traditional fermented food in China were determined, including the survival rates in simulated gastric acid and bile salt, aggregation, hydrophobicity, adhesion rate, antioxidant ability (ferric reducing antioxidant power), and antimicrobial ability. The differences between human strains and nonhuman strains were compared via t‐test and principal component analysis (PCA). The significant differences were found in the survival rate at 0.3% bile salt, adhesion ability of the strains, and antioxidant ability of the fermentation broth (p <.05). The results of PCA showed that the first principal component (PC1) score of human strains was significantly higher than that of nonhuman strains (p <.01). And some probiotic Lactobacillus were selected for further application based on the unsupervised clustering algorithm, heat‐map analysis, and K‐means algorithm. Four strains, CS128, CS39, CS01, and CS1301, along with Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) were divided into cluster I. The four strains, all isolated from human tracts, have been selected. Thus, human Lactobacillus has better probiotic potential and application prospects than strains from the nonhuman source. • Deposition reduction of different dust on solar cells by super-hydrophobic coatings was investigated. • The self-cleaning coatings are effective to improve the transmittance and the PV efficiency. • The self-cleaning coating has the best power efficiency improvement performance for the dust C. • The coatings are effective to decrease deposition density of dust from the southern China. This paper aims to examine deposition reduction performance of different types of dust on solar PV cells by the self-cleaning coatings. Four types of dust were obtained from the Powder Technology Inc. USA (Dust A), the Henan province in the central China (Dust B), the Guangzhou city in the Southern China (Dust C) and the sand in the construction site (Dust D), respectively. The micro and macro patterns of particles, the particle deposition density, the transmittance and the output power reduction of PV system after dust deposition were investigated carefully. It was found that the particle deposition density on the solar cell covering glass is obviously decreased by the coating. The deposition density of the sand particles is 36.77% of that on the uncoated glass case, which is the minimum among the four types of dust because of the high Young's modulus and low surface energy of the sand. The self-cleaning coating has the best power efficiency improvement performance for the dust C (about 24.35%), followed by the dust B (about 19.83%) and dust D (about 18.21%). Chromium, being among the most toxic heavy metals, continues to demand immediate attention in the remediation of Cr-contaminated environments. In this study, a strain of LBA36 ( Bacillus toyonensis ) was isolated from heavy metal contaminated soil in Luanchuan County, Luoyang City, China. The reduction and adsorption rates of LBA36 in 30 mg·L -1 Cr-containing medium were 97.95% and 8.8%, respectively. The reduction mechanism was confirmed by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Cr(VI) reduction by this strain predominantly occurred outside the cell, with hydroxyl, amide, carboxyl, C-N group, carbonyl, and sulfur carbonyl as the main reaction sites. XPS analysis revealed the presence of Cr 2p1/2 and Cr 2p3/2 . Furthermore, the hydroponic experiment showed that the fresh weight and plant height of radish seedlings increased by 87.87% and 37.07%, respectively, after inoculation with LBA36 strain under 7 mg·L -1 Cr(VI) stress. The levels of chlorophyll, total protein, malondialdehyde, superoxide dismutase and catalase were also affected to different degrees. Background: Adolescents are at risk of depression, and recent studies also found a high prevalence of depression among Chinese adolescents. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the risk and protective factors of depression among Chinese adolescents., Objective: This study examined the direct effect of psychological maltreatment on depression symptoms in adolescents and the mediating roles of emotion regulation and social support in their relationship., Method: Data were collected from Chinese senior high school students (N = 687, 36.5 % males and 63.5 % females, M age  = 16.44 years, SD = 0.78) who completed the measures of psychological maltreatment, depression symptoms, perceived social support, and emotion regulation strategies, including cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression., Results: The results indicated that: (a) psychological maltreatment was positively correlated with depression symptoms; (b) the two emotion regulation strategies and perceived social support partially mediated the link between psychological maltreatment and depression symptoms separately; (c) the two emotion regulation strategies and perceived social support partially mediated the link between psychological maltreatment and depression symptoms in a sequential pattern., Conclusion: Psychological maltreatment was positively associated with depression symptoms in adolescents. Aim: This study investigated the impacts of different pre-pregnancy body mass indexes and gestational weight gain on the risk of delivering a high birth weight infant in China., Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted from 2013 to 2014 in the Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital of Jinan City, Shandong Province and 2415 women who had a singleton birth were included in the study. A logistic regression model and restricted cubic spline regression were used to analyse the association., Findings: The risk of delivering a high birth weight infant increases when the mother's pre-pregnancy body mass index exceeds 24kg/m 2 . Compared with women whose pre-pregnancy body mass index was 21kg/m 2 , the adjusted risk of delivering a high birth weight infant doubled when the mother's pre-pregnancy body mass index was 29kg/m 2 , and nearly tripled when the mother's pre-pregnancy body mass index was 31kg/m 2 . Compared with women who had a gestational weight gain of 12.0kg, women having a gestational weight gain of 20.0kg, 22.0kg, and 26.0kg had a 1.7-, 2.2-, and 3.5-fold increased risk of delivering a high birth weight infant. When the mother experiences a gestational weight gain greater than 27kg, the risk of delivering a high birth weight infant is at least 4-fold greater than that for a mother who has a gestational weight gain of 12.0kg., Conclusions: Proposed strategies to raise public awareness of the risks to infants posed by high maternal pre-pregnancy body mass index and gestational weight gain are required. Background: Studies have revealed the association between famine in early life and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in adulthood. However, studies on the Great Chinese Famine were not conducted nationwide. Because of regional variations in the severity of this famine, the results of regional studies are limited. This study explored associations between famine and T2DM in adulthood in a nationwide study., Methods: The present study was performed on 7262 participants who were born between 1 October 1949 and 1 July 1966 using baseline data collected for the China Health And Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) in 2011. Participants were divided according to birthdate into cohorts with fetal, late, middle, and early childhood exposure and no exposure to famine. Logistic regression models were used to analyze the association between famine exposure in early life and the risk of T2DM and hyperglycemia in adulthood., Results: For females, the risk of hyperglycemia was higher for famine-exposed than not exposed cohort (odds ratios [OR] 1.34 and 95% confidence intervals [CIs]: 1.34 [1.04-1.74], 1.48 [1.15-1.90], 1.38 [1.06-1.79], and 1.57 [1.25-1.98] for fetal, early, middle, and late childhood exposure, respectively), and this association was even stronger in female participants who lived in rural areas before the age of 16 years. In males, the risk of T2DM was lower for the early and late childhood exposure than no exposure cohorts (OR [95% CIs]: 0.65 [0.49-0.86] and 0.74 [0.56-0.98], respectively).
