In recent years, major large ports in China have realized the business informatization of rail-water intermodal transportation. However, the overall development level of intermodal transportation informatization has been restricted to a great extent due to the unbalanced development of intermodal transportation informatization in different regions, the rigid system architecture, the low degree of information sharing, and the lack of data management and analysis methods. Combined with the structure and business characteristics of intermodal transportation information systems, adopting cloud computing and Big Data technology, we propose an intermodal transportation information process with waybill as the information carrier and FPMS as the service fulcrum in this paper. Illustrated by the example of China's container export process, this paper explores a series of key technical issues in the cloud environment, such as application management, business information sharing, and Big Data processing, at different levels of the construction of the rail water transport cloud platform, combined with its business characteristics, and makes experimental analysis on the relevant models to verify the feasibility of the reconstruction of the rail water transport cloud platform. • Types, access methods, and functions of energy storage systems in electrified railways are analyzed. • Different control strategies of energy storage systems in electrified railways are analyzed and compared. • Practical application of energy storage systems in electrified railways are analyzed and summarized. With the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" target direction, China's high-speed railway is developing steadily towards the trend of energy saving. Considering that connecting the energy storage system to electrified railway can effectively reduce energy consumption and improve system stability, a comprehensive review on energy storage system of electrified railway is performed. Firstly, the selection principle of energy storage medium based on traction power characteristics is firstly introduced. Then, different types of energy storage systems are summarized by introducing the characteristics of power supply mode and installation location. After that, the existing power quality problems in the electrified railway system with energy storage system and its control strategy are analyzed. Finally, some typical demonstration projects of rail transit energy storage technology are comprehensively compared. Alluvial soils are rich in mineral nutrients, and contain high heavy metals, especially Cd. The interactions of mineral nutrients with Cd in soil-rice grain systems on natural condition of alluvial plain are highlighted in this study. 110 pairs of rice grain and soil (0–20 cm) samples from the Pearl River Delta were investigated and measured. The results indicated that pH, organic matter, cation exchange capacity, clay, Ca, Cd, Fe, Mn and Zn are the most important soil characteristics controlling Cd uptake by rice grain. There are synergetic interactions between Cd and mineral elements in the soils, and antagonistic interactions between them in the rice grains. It could provide useful information for the risk assessment of heavy metals in the soils of alluvial plain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Considering the phasing-out of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), environmental concerns of PBDE alternatives and dechlorane plus (DP) are rising. Accordingly, this study investigates occurrence and ecological risks of PBDEs, PBDE alternatives and DPs in sediments of two littoral regions, the Pearl River Estuary (PRE) and Daya Bay (DYB), in southern China. Total PBDEs concentrations in surface sediments of the PRE and DYB were in the range (mean) of 0.30–28.7 (8.71) and 0.29–43.4 (6.05) ng/g dw, respectively. DP levels in surface sediments of the PRE (0.004–0.27 ng/g dw) were significantly higher than those in the DYB (0.005–0.24 ng/g dw) (p < 0.05). BDE 209 was the predominant component, followed by DBDPE, exhibiting regional variations in BFRs usage. Vertical profiles of BFRs and DP in the PRE and DYB sediment cores exhibited clear anthropogenic influences. Risk quotients suggest critical ecological risks of tetra-, penta- and deca-BDE congeners in all the surface sediments.
