The smart teaching model of flipped classroom based on cloud learning platform is the trend of college classroom teaching reform. By means of the Chaoxing Learning Platform and the teaching practice of cultural geography, this paper constructs a peer instruction relied on the flipped classroom. The three stages that teachers and students need to complete, namely, before class, during class and after class can be utilized to evaluate the teaching effect of flipped classroom. Before class, students preview through micro-class resources material on Chaoxing Learning Platform provided by teachers, communicate with classmates and teachers in real time, discuss and cooperate with each other during class through cultural theme project-based learning and peer instructions, and think profoundly and self-examination after class. The analysis of students' learning effect indicates that such a teaching mode promotes students' subjective initiative in learning, improves the performance and comprehensive capabilities of students. As a new and efficient teaching method, "Chaoxing Learning Platform + Flipped Classroom" plays an important role in enhancing teaching quality and promoting the development of students' comprehensive quality, such as self-directed learning, communication and cooperation.

The accuracy of blood glucose measurement in clinical laboratories is vital for diabetes diagnosis. Trueness Verification Plan was carried out and analyzed for evaluating the standardization of serum glucose among clinical laboratories. Trueness verification samples were distributed to clinical laboratories for three days measurement, and their target values were assigned by two certified reference laboratories. The relative bias, coefficient of variation (CV), and total error (TE) for each clinical laboratory were calculated and analyzed. Moreover, the Six Sigma metrics and Quality Goal Index were utilized to reflect the measurement quality of the clinical laboratories. The pass rates evaluated by bias, CV, and TE ranged from 45.2 % to 64.8 %, 96.8 %–98.9 %, and 83.9 %–97.1 % over the six years. The matched systems used in clinical laboratories demonstrated better accuracy than the un-matched systems. The pass rate by bias of hexokinase method is 53.1 %–78.6 %, while the glucose oxidase method is 29.2 %–52.2 %. Overall, 74.2 %–85.7 % of clinical laboratories achieved an acceptable level (both σ>3), and 35.2 %–61.4 % of laboratories reached a "world-class" level (both σ>6). Background: Oncomelania hupensis is the exclusive intermediate host of Schistosoma japonicum in China. Snail control is an essential component of schistosomiasis elimination programme. With 70 years of continuous efforts, the range of O. hupensis had reduced significantly, but slowed down in last decades. A large number of levees against flooding were constructed along Yangtze River and its affiliated lakes in the middle and lower reaches, which influenced the hydrology and ecology in the alluvial plains. The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of levees on the distribution of O. hupensis in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Methods: The snail habitats were digitalised by hand-held GPS system. The years for discovery and elimination of snail habitats were extracted from historical records. The accumulated snail-infested range for each habitat was calculated on the basis of annual reports. The current distribution of O. hupensis was determined by systematic and environmental sampling. The geographical distribution of levees was obtained from satellite imagery. To assess the impact of levees, the data pertaining to O. hupensis were divided into two parts: inside and outside the Yangtze River. Joinpoint regression was utilised to divide the study time span and further characterise the regression in each period. The 5-year-period moving averages of eliminated area infested by snails were calculated for the habitats inside and outside Yangtze River. The moving routes of corresponding geographical median centres were simulated in ArcGIS. Hotspot analysis was used to determine the areas with statistical significance clustering of O. hupensis density. Results: Three periods were identified according to Joinpoint regression both inside and outside Yangtze River. The area infested by O. hupensis increased in the first two periods. It decreased rapidly outside Yangtze River year over year after 1970, while that inside the Yangtze River did not change significantly. Furthermore, the latter was significantly higher than the former. It was observed that the present density of O. hupensis inside Yangtze River was lower than outside the Yangtze River. The median centre for eliminated ranges inside Yangtze River wavered between the east (lower reach) and the west (middle reach). In contrast, the median centre for eliminated ranges continuously moved from the east to the west. Conclusions: Our findings indicated that the levees had a considerable negative impact on the distribution of O. hupensis outside Yangtze River. Some hotspots observed in the irrigation areas need a sluice system at the inlet of branch for snail control. The major distribution of O. hupensis located in Hubei might be caused by severe waterlogging. The intensive surveillance should be implemented there. The biggest two freshwater lakes, the major endemic regions historically, were identified as cold spots. The aim of this research was to examine the correlation among college students' physical activity, social–emotional abilities, gender and their perception of social support. The survey was conducted among 408 college students from Jiangsu, Shandong and Hubei provinces utilising the Perceived Social Support Scale, the Social–Emotional Competence Scale for Chinese College Students and the Physical Activity Scale (PARS‐3). SPSS 27.0 and the Process 4.1 plug‐in developed by Hayes were used to perform common method bias tests, independent samples t‐tests, descriptive statistics, correlation analyses, and moderated mediation model tests on the data. (1) After controlling for variables such as educational attainment and professional background, physical activity was found to exert a significant and favourable influence on college students' perception of social support (β =.11, p<.001). (2) The relationship between physical activity and college students' perception of social support was moderated by their social–emotional skills. The mediation effect size was calculated to be 54.33%. (3) Gender moderates the relationship between physical activity and college students' perceptions of social support (β =.09, t = 2.01, p<.05). Physical activity not only directly affects college students' perceived social support, but also indirectly through social–emotional competence; gender has a significant moderating effect on the direct effect of physical activity on college students' perceived social support. Specifically, female students had a more significant positive predictive effect on perceptual social support than male students. Low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (LF-NMR) technology plays a growing role in studying reservoirs for oil displacement characteristics. To better explore the reservoir characteristics of Da'anzhai in the Sichuan Province of China, this paper uses LF-NMR imbibition flooding experiments to study the improvement of oil displacement efficiency for shale oil reservoirs in Southwest China by different imbibition flooding technologies. In this article, experiments in scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, and rock mechanics were conducted to analyze the geological features of the reservoir in the study area. In combination with the test results of the nuclear magnetic resonance method, the field technology has been reformed to improve the oil recovery efficiency. The results show that the Da'anzhai area is mainly composed of interbedded shale and limestone, with a relatively low organic carbon content and low average porosity. The pores shouted are predominantly concentrated in the range of 1–100 nm, and there are micrometer-sized pores. The mineral composition of the area is primarily quartz, dolomite, and calcite, rich in clay minerals. The degree of the development of natural fractures is not high, and the mean coefficient of stress differential in two directions is 0.19. The content of brittle minerals is greater than 50%, meaning that the overall compressibility is good. The results of the stratified T2 test show that the imbibition efficiency of shale in this area is low. The imbibition efficiency of the three cores is the best in 0–20 mm, and the imbibition efficiency is low in the 40–60-mm section. The optimum imbibition formula 2 has an apparent promoting effect on the imbibition of shale in this area. Based on the optimal formula system of imbibition flooding experiments, the average reservoir volume of reconstruction (SRV) in the Sichuan Basin increased from 39 million cubic meters to 46 million cubic meters. The oil production test went from "seeing boiling oil" to almost 2 tons/day, making a significant breakthrough in "oil production." As a result, LF-NMR technology is used to investigate the effects of core imbibition and oil displacement. Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and near-surface ozone (O3) are the main atmospheric pollutants in China. Long-term exposure to high ozone concentrations adversely affects human health. It is of great significance to systematically analyze the spatiotemporal evolution mechanism and health effects of ozone pollution. Based on the ozone data of 91 monitoring stations in the Central Plains Urban Agglomeration from 2017 to 2020, the research used Kriging method and spatial autocorrelation analysis to investigate the spatiotemporal variations of ozone concentration. Additionally, the study assessed the health effects of ozone on the population using the population exposure risk model and exposure-response relationship model. The results indicated that: (1) The number of premature deaths caused by ozone pollution in the warm season were 37,053 at 95% confidence interval (95% CI: 28,190–45,930) in 2017, 37,685 (95% CI: 28,669–46,713) in 2018, and 37,655 (95% CI: 28,647–46,676) in 2019. (2) The ozone concentration of the Central Plains urban agglomeration showed a decreasing trend throughout the year and during the warm season from 2017 to 2020, there are two peaks monthly, one is June, and the other is September. (3) In the warm season, the high-risk areas of population exposure to ozone in the Central Plains Urban Agglomeration were mainly concentrated in urban areas. In general, the population exposure risk of the south is lower than that of the north. The number of premature deaths attributed to ozone concentration during the warm season has decreased, but some southern cities such as Xinyang and Zhumadian have also seen an increase in premature deaths. China has achieved significant results in air pollution control, but in areas with high ozone concentrations and high population density, the health burden caused by air pollution remains heavy, and stricter air pollution control policies need to be implemented. Background: Echinococcosis is a natural focal, highly prevalent disease in China. Factors influencing the spread of echinococcosis are not only related to personal exposure but also closely related to the environment itself. The purpose of this study was to explore the influence of environmental factors on the prevalence of human echinococcosis and to provide a reference for prevention and control of echinococcosis in the future. Methods: Data were collected from 370 endemic counties in China in 2018. By downloading Modis, DEM and other remote-sensing images in 2018. Data on environmental factors, i.e., elevation, land surface temperature (LST) and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) were collected. Rank correlation analysis was conducted between each environmental factor and the prevalence of echinococcosis at the county level. Negative binomial regression was used to analyze the impact of environmental factors on the prevalence of human echinococcosis at the county level. Results: According to rank correlation analysis, the prevalence of human echinococcosis in each county was positively correlated with elevation, negatively correlated with LST, and negatively correlated with NDVI in May, June and July. Negative binomial regression showed that the prevalence of human echinococcosis was negatively correlated with annual LST and summer NDVI, and positively correlated with average elevation and dog infection rate. The prevalence of human cystic echinococcosis was inversely correlated with the annual average LST, and positively correlated with both the average elevation and the prevalence rate of domestic animals. The prevalence of human alveolar echinococcosis was positively correlated with both NDVI in autumn and average elevation, and negatively correlated with NDVI in winter. Conclusion: The prevalence of echinococcosis in the population is affected by environmental factors. Environmental risk assessment and prediction can be conducted in order to rationally allocate health resources and improve both prevention and control efficiency of echinococcosis. Background: We are making progress in the fight against health-related misinformation, but mass participation and active engagement are far from adequate. Focusing on pre-professional medical students with above-average medical knowledge, our study examined whether and how third-person perceptions (TPP), which hypothesize that people tend to perceive media messages as having a greater effect on others than on themselves, would motivate their actions against misinformation. Methods: We collected the cross-sectional data through a self-administered paper-and-pencil survey of 1,500 medical students in China during April 2022. Results: Structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis, showed that TPP was negatively associated with medical students' actions against digital misinformation, including rebuttal of misinformation and promotion of corrective information. However, self-efficacy and collectivism served as positive predictors of both actions. Additionally, we found professional identification failed to play a significant role in influencing TPP, while digital misinformation self-efficacy was found to broaden the third-person perceptual gap and collectivism tended to reduce the perceptual bias significantly. Conclusions: Our study contributes both to theory and practice. It extends the third-person effect theory by moving beyond the examination of restrictive actions and toward the exploration of corrective and promotional actions in the context of misinformation., It also lends a new perspective to the current efforts to counter digital misinformation; involving pre-professionals (in this case, medical students) in the fight. Background: This study aimed to examine the reporting quality of existing economic evaluations for negotiated glucose-lowering drugs (GLDs) included in China National Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL) using the Consolidated Health Economic Evaluation Reporting Standards 2013 (CHEERS 2013). Methods: We performed a systematic literature research through 7 databases to identify published economic evaluations for GLDs included in the China NRDL up to March 2021. Reporting quality of identified studies was assessed by two independent reviewers based on the CHEERS checklist. The Kruskal–Wallis test and Mann–Whitney U test were performed to examine the association between reporting quality and characteristics of the identified studies. Results: We have identified 24 studies, which evaluated six GLDs types. The average score rate of the included studies was 77.41% (SD:13.23%, Range 47.62%-91.67%). Among all the required reporting items, characterizing heterogeneity (score rate = 4.17%) was the least satisfied item. Among six parts of CHEERS, results part scored least at 0.55 (score rate = 54.79%) because of the incompleteness of characterizing uncertainty. Results from the Kruskal–Wallis test and Mann–Whitney U test showed that model choice, journal type, type of economic evaluations, and study perspective were associated with the reporting quality of the studies. Conclusions: There remains room to improve the reporting quality of economic evaluations for GLDs in NRDL. The North China Craton (NCC), notably the southeastern margin of the NCC, hosts the most typical example of decratonic gold deposits. However, the factors controlling the intensity of decratonic gold mineralization and the relation between the geodynamic model of decratonization and gold mineralization still deserve to be well elucidated. The Bengbu and the Jiaobei uplifts are located at the southeastern margin of the NCC and the two uplifts have similar tectonic positions and metamorphic basements, yet the intensity of gold mineralization is quite distinct. Mesozoic mineralization and magmatism in both uplifts are controlled by the same deep geodynamic process. Accordingly, in this review, we make an effort to find solutions to these problems by integrating the whole-rock geochemical and Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic data as well as zircon U-Pb-Hf-O isotopic data from late Mesozoic magmatic rocks from the Bengbu uplift and the Jiaobei uplift. The late Mesozoic magmatism of the two uplifts can be divided into three stages, i.e. Late Jurassic (stage I), middle Early Cretaceous (stage II), and late Early Cretaceous (stage III). Comparative studies of the gold-related rocks in these two areas indicate that the intensity of the decratonic gold mineralization is controlled by magmatic source composition (i.e. the affinity of the upper crust of the South China Block), intrinsic magmatic variables of gold-related rocks (i.e. redox state and volatiles content), as well as lithospheric architecture (i.e. lithospheric thickness). Additionally, the integrated data of magmatic rocks in the three stages suggest that plate subduction acts as the recycling engine factory responsible for the decratonic mineral systems. In the early stage (Triassic), continental subduction of the South China Block induced pre-enrichment of ore-forming nutriments in magma sources, whereas in the late stage (Early Cretaceous), oceanic subduction of the paleo-Pacific plate led to the craton destruction, thereby triggering related magmatism and gold mineralization in the eastern NCC. Background: Patent foramen ovale (PFO) is associated with transient ischemia attack (TIA) or stroke, paradoxical embolism, and migraines. PFO closure decreases the recurrent incidence of cerebral ischemic events and reduces the incidence of syncope in adults. However, whether PFO is associated with syncope in pediatric patients has not been investigated. Methods: 1001 pediatric patients (aged 4 to 17 years, mean age 10.31 ± 2.61 years, 519 males) who complained of unexplained syncope, palpitation, headache, dizziness and chest pain and were hospitalized in the Syncope Ward, The Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University between January 2013 and April 2022 were recruited. Children with definite etiology of syncope, neurological, cardiogenic, psychological and other system diseases were excluded. PFO was measured by transthoracic echocardiography and right-heart contrast echocardiography was performed to identify the presence of right-to-left shunting. The demographic data and medical records were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed. Results: 276 cases were included in the simple syncope group, 379 cases in the headache/dizziness group, 265 cases in the chest pain group, and 81 cases in the palpitation group. The incidence of PFO between the four groups was insignificant (4.71%, 4.74%, 4.15%, 6.17%, respectively, P = 0.903). Multivariate Logistic regression demonstrated that PFO is not associated with the increased risk of syncope (P = 0.081). Conclusion: PFO may not increase the risk of syncope in pediatric patients. Gold in Carlin-type gold ores is commonly hosted in the arsenian pyrite rim, but the formation of arsenian pyrite and its contribution to Au adsorption are poorly understood. Based on our previous NanoSIMS Au mapping, we conducted SEM and HR-TEM analyses to examine the Au deportment and nanoscale texture of individual auriferous arsenian pyrite grains from the giant Carlin-type Lannigou gold deposit, SW China. The results indicate that the arsenian pyrite rim is composed of numerous nanoparticulate pyrite grains (rather than a single crystal), and gold nanoparticles (Au0) occur mainly in sub-rim with the highest Au content, which are porous and have lower degrees of order. We propose that nanoparticulate arsenian pyrite attachment and aggregation is the main mechanism for the arsenian pyrite rim growth, and such mechanism is crucial for the Au efficient enrichment for this giant gold deposit. The leadership style of coaches plays a vital role in affecting athletes' psychological well-being; however, little is known about the relationship between coaches' benevolent leadership and their athletes' psychological well-being. The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating mechanism of caring climate in the link between benevolent leadership and psychological well-being. With a sample of 295 university athletes from three universities in China, we conducted structural equation modeling to test our hypotheses. The results indicated that coaches' benevolent leadership was positively related to the psychological well-being of athletes, and that caring climate mediated this relationship. Findings from this study highlight the significance of adopting benevolent leadership and creating a caring climate as a means of enhancing the psychological well-being of university athletes. Options for treatment of chronic spontaneous urticaria beyond antihistamines are limited. This multicenter, randomized, sham-controlled trial from 3 teaching hospitals in China compared acupuncture, sham acupuncture, and waitlist control for treatment of chronic spontaneous urticaria. Visual Abstract. Efficacy of Acupuncture for Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria: Options for treatment of chronic spontaneous urticaria beyond antihistamines are limited. This multicenter, randomized, sham-controlled trial from 3 teaching hospitals in China compared acupuncture, sham acupuncture, and waitlist control for treatment of chronic spontaneous urticaria. Background: The effectiveness of acupuncture for patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), reported in a few small-scale studies, is not convincing. Objective: To investigate whether acupuncture leads to better effects on CSU than sham acupuncture or waitlist control. Design: A multicenter, randomized, sham-controlled trial. (Chinese Clinical Trial Registry: ChiCTR1900022994) Setting: Three teaching hospitals in China from 27 May 2019 to 30 July 2022. Participants: 330 participants diagnosed with CSU. Intervention: Participants were randomly assigned in a 1:1:1 ratio to receive acupuncture, sham acupuncture, or waitlist control over an 8-week study period (4 weeks for treatment and another 4 weeks for follow-up). Measurements: The primary outcome was the mean change from baseline in the Weekly Urticaria Activity Score (UAS7) at week 4. Secondary outcomes included itch severity scores, self-rated improvement, and Dermatology Life Quality Index scores. Results: The mean change in UAS7 (range, 0 to 42) for acupuncture from baseline (mean score, 23.5 [95% CI, 21.8 to 25.2]) to week 4 (mean score, 15.3 [CI, 13.6 to 16.9]) was −8.2 (CI, −9.9 to −6.6). The mean changes in UAS7 for sham acupuncture and waitlist control from baseline (mean scores, 21.9 [CI, 20.2 to 23.6] and 22.1 [CI, 20.4 to 23.8], respectively) to week 4 (mean scores, 17.8 [CI, 16.1 to 19.5] and 20.0 [CI, 18.3 to 21.6], respectively) were −4.1 (CI, −5.8 to −2.4) and −2.2 (CI, −3.8 to −0.5), respectively. The mean differences between acupuncture and sham acupuncture and waitlist control were −4.1 (CI, −6.5 to −1.8) and −6.1 (CI, −8.4 to −3.7), respectively, which did not meet the threshold for minimal clinically important difference. Fifteen participants (13.6%) in the acupuncture group and none in the other groups reported adverse events. Adverse events were mild or transient. Limitation: Lack of complete blinding, self-reported outcomes, limited generalizability because antihistamine use was disallowed, and short follow-up period. Conclusion: Compared with sham acupuncture and waitlist control, acupuncture produced a greater improvement in UAS7, although the difference from control was not clinically significant. Background: Puerperal infection (PI) is a severe threat to maternal health. The incidence and risk of PI should be accurately quantified and conveyed for prior decision-making. This study aims to assess the quality of the published literature on the epidemiology of PI, and synthesize them to identify the temporal trends and risk factors of PI occurring in Mainland China. Methods: This review was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42021267399). Putting a time frame on 2010 to March 2022, we searched Cochrane library, Embase, Google Scholar, MEDLINE, Web of Science, China biology medicine, China national knowledge infrastructure and Chinese medical current contents, and performed a meta-analysis and meta-regression to pool the incidence of PI and the effects of risk factors on PI. Results: A total of 49 eligible studies with 133,938 participants from 17 provinces were included. The pooled incidence of PI was 4.95% (95%CIs, 4.46–5.43), and there was a statistical association between the incidence of PI following caesarean section and the median year of data collection. Gestational hypertension (OR = 2.14), Gestational diabetes mellitus (OR = 1.82), primipara (OR = 0.81), genital tract inflammation (OR = 2.51), anemia during pregnancy (OR = 2.28), caesarean section (OR = 2.03), episiotomy (OR = 2.64), premature rupture of membrane (OR = 2.54), prolonged labor (OR = 1.32), placenta remnant (OR = 2.59) and postpartum hemorrhage (OR = 2.43) have significant association with PI. Conclusions: Maternal infection remains a crucial complication during puerperium in Mainland China, which showed a nationwide temporal rising following caesarean section in the past decade. The opportunity to prevent unnecessary PI exists in several simple but necessary measures and it's urgent for clinicians and policymakers to focus joint efforts on promoting the bundle of evidence-based practices. Background: The use of Anti-PD-1 therapy has yielded promising outcomes in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, limited research has been conducted on the overall survival (OS) of patients with varying tumor responses and treatment duration. Methods: This retrospective study analyzed HCC patients who received sintilimab between January 2019 and December 2020 at four centers in China. The evaluation of tumor progression was based on Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors version 1.1. The study investigated the correlation between tumor response and OS, and the impact of drug use on OS following progressive disease (PD). Results: Out of 441 treated patients, 159 patients satisfied the inclusion criteria. Among them, 77 patients with disease control exhibited a significantly longer OS compared to the 82 patients with PD (median OS 26.0 vs. 11.3 months, P < 0.001). Additionally, the OS of patients with objective response (OR) was better than that of patients with stable disease (P = 0.002). Among the 47 patients with PD who continued taking sintilimab, the OS was better than the 35 patients who discontinued treatment (median OS 11.4 vs. 6.9 months, P = 0.042). Oats (Avena sativa L.) are mostly used as a germplasm resource for forage. This experiment showed the differences in the nutrient composition and the forage quality of five wild leather oat populations from Israel and one cultivated leather oat population from China. It also showed the correlation of the indicators with the geo-environmental factors in the places of origin of the six populations that were analysed. Three replicated experiments were conducted during a three-year period from 2018.10 to 2020.03, mainly from 11 indicators of nutrient composition and forage quality. In this experiment, Spearman's correlation was used to analyse the differences between different groups (p < 0.05), the relationship between components was analysed by principal component analysis (PCA), and the kinship relationship between six groups was also analysed based on the data of 11 components. In terms of nutrient content, the cultivated group Hu had significantly lower ash (8.92%), crude protein (11.96%), and soluble sugar content (10.51%) than the wild oat groups. In terms of forage quality, the lignin content (3.31%) of the Hu population was 2.3 times higher than that of Evolution Canyon, and the fibre content was 8 times higher than that of Sede Boqer. This indicates that wild oats have better nutritional value and palatability. Following the correlation analysis, it was found that the environmental factors of the origin had a significant effect on the indexes of ash, crude protein, and soluble sugar of oat straw, but had less effect on the content of crude fat, total phosphorus, and total potassium. Meanwhile, the annual rainfall and the number of rainfall days in the origin had a significant effect on the fibre content. In conclusion, the higher variability of wild oat populations due to the influence of different environmental and geographical factors may be a new possibility brought by forage oats. Accretionary and collisional orogeny are often accompanied by the disturbance of the geothermal gradient, leading to high-temperature metamorphism. High-temperature metamorphic rocks are significant in their ability to help the reconstruction of the thermal histories of orogenic belts. The Tianshan Orogenic Belt, at the southwest margin of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt, is a record of the long-term subduction–collision–post-collision orogenic process that has taken place in the Phanerozoic Eon. Here, we report the discovery of mafic granulites in the Muzhaerte area, SW Tianshan. Petrographic observation reveals that the mafic granulites underwent two metamorphic stages. The peak mineral assemblage of the first stage is dominated by clinopyroxene + orthopyroxene + plagioclase + quartz + hornblende (hb1) ± biotite, and the post-peak mineral assemblage of the second stage is dominated by clinopyroxene + plagioclase + quartz + hornblende (hb2) + biotite. The calculated results obtained from the two-pyroxene thermobarometers and the Al-in-hornblende barometer for the mafic granulites indicate that the metamorphic conditions of mafic granulites are 760–860 °C, <0.39–0.41 Gpa. The mafic granulites recorded a high-grade granulite facies thermal metamorphic event with the highest temperature limit currently recorded in the Central Tianshan Block. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Straw is widely incorporated into soil worldwide, but most studies have concentrated on the effects of straw mulching or incorporation with topsoil. To determine the effect of depth of straw incorporation on bacterial and fungal communities, we established a field experiment in a region in Northeast China with Haplic Chernozems using four treatments: conventional tillage (CT, tillage to a depth of 15 cm with no straw incorporation), straw incorporation with conventional tillage (SCT, tillage to a depth of 15 cm), inversion tillage (IT, tillage to a depth of 35 cm) and straw incorporation with inversion tillage (SIT, tillage to a depth of 35 cm). The soils were managed by inversion to a depth of 15 or 35 cm after harvest. The results show that soil organic carbon content was significantly higher and pH and bulk density were significantly lower in the 15–35 cm layer in IT and SIT than CT and SCT. Fungal abundance was higher with straw incorporation, but fungal diversity was lower in the 0–15 cm layer in SCT and SIT than in CT and IT. Path length in the bacterial network was shorter and connectivity was higher in CT + SCT than in IT + SIT, leading to a more complex ecosystem, and the fungal network had opposite patterns. The key taxa in the phylum Actinobacteriota and Ascomycota in the microbial networks changed dramatically at the genus level following inversion tillage with straw amendment, which may increase bacterial network resistance to environmental disturbances and unstable fungal networks, resulting in large changes in the fungal community involved in the decomposition of recalcitrant straw-derived C and the more efficient acquisition of limiting resources. Organic material incorporation are important agricultural practices, which can influence soil organic carbon (SOC) sequestration and stabilization. However, the response of interaction between SOC structure and soil microbial to organic material incorporation management are still poorly understood. In 2021, we conducted a three years field experiment in Guangrong country, northeastern China. Five treatments were established: conventional tillage (CK), conventional tillage with straw incorporation (T1); subsoil tillage with straw incorporation (T2); subsoil tillage with straw and organic manure incorporation (T3) and subsoiling tillage with organic manure incorporation (T4). Fulvic–like and protein–like components were found in fulvic acid (FA) in a 0–15 cm soil layer, while fulvic–like components in humic acid (HA) were found in 0–15 cm and 15–35 cm soil layers. In the 15–35 cm soil layer, the bacterial, fungal and total phospholipid fatty acid (PLFA) contents were significantly higher by 159.62%, 687.00%, and 139.02% in T3 than CK, respectively. The fungal to bacterial PLFA ratios (F/B) were significantly higher by 97.46% and the Gram–positive bacteria to Gram–negative bacteria PLFA ratios (G+/G−) were lower by 20.99% in T3 than CK in the 15–35 cm soil layer. Aim: This study aimed to explore the utility of latent profile analysis of illness perception, in comparison to treating illness perception as several dimensions, to predict breast cancer‐related lymphedema risk management behaviours among Chinese breast cancer patients. Methods: This is a 3‐month longitudinal study. From August 2019 to January 2021, patients who recently underwent breast cancer surgery including axillary lymphadenectomy were recruited. Illness perception and risk management behaviours were measured by breast cancer‐related lymphedema specific questionnaires before discharge following surgery (n = 268) and at 3 months postsurgery (n = 213), respectively. Results: Treating illness perception as several dimensions, 'illness coherence' and 'timeline (cyclical)' dimensions were found to be significantly associated with breast cancer‐related lymphedema risk management behaviours. Using the latent profile analysis, two illness perception profiles were identified and significant differences were revealed in breast cancer‐related lymphedema risk management behaviours between them. Overall, illness perception profiles explained smaller amounts of variability in breast cancer‐related lymphedema risk management behaviours than illness perception dimensions. Conclusion: Future studies could combine these two different perspectives of illness perception regarding breast cancer‐related lymphedema into the design of interventions to improve breast cancer‐related lymphedema risk management behaviours. Background: Nocardia species can cause local or disseminated infection. Prompt diagnosis and appropriate treatment of nocardiosis are required, because it can cause significant morbidity and mortality. Knowledge of local species distribution and susceptibility patterns is important to appropriate empiric therapy. However, knowledge on the epidemiology and antimicrobial susceptibility profiles of clinical Nocardia species remains limited in China. Methods: The data of isolation of Nocardia species were collected from databases such as Pubmed, Web of Science, Embase as well as Chinese databases (CNKI, Wanfang and VIP). Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3 software. Random effect models were used and tested with Cochran's Q and I2 statistics taking into account the possibility of heterogeneity between studies. Results: In total, 791 Nocardia isolates were identified to 19 species levels among all the recruited studies. The most common species were N. farcinica (29.1%, 230/791), followed by N. cyriacigeorgica (25.3%, 200/791), N. brasiliensis (11.8%, 93/791) and N. otitidiscaviarum (7.8%, 62/791). N. farcinica and N. cyriacigeorgica are widely distributed, N. brasiliensis mainly prevalent in the Southern, N. otitidiscaviarum mainly distributed in the east coastal provinces of China. Totally, 70.4% (223/317) Nocardia were cultured from respiratory tract specimens, 16.4% (52/317) from extra-pulmonary specimens, and 13.3% (42/317) from disseminated infection. The proportion of susceptible isolates as follows: linezolid 99.5% (197/198), amikacin 96.0% (190/198), trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole 92.9% (184/198), imipenem 64.7% (128/198). Susceptibility varied by species of Nocardia. Conclusions: N. farcinica and N. cyriacigeorgica are the most frequently isolated species, which are widely distributed in China. Pulmonary nocardiosis is the most common type of infection. Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole can still be the preferred agent for initial Nocardia infection therapy due to the low resistance rate, linezolid and amikacin could be an alternative to treat nocardiosis or a choice in a combination regimen. The forest fire burned area is one of the most basic factors used to describe forest fires and plays a vital role in damage assessment. The development of the NSSI-NDVI vegetation index triangular space method enables simultaneous calculation of the flammable non-photosynthetic vegetation (NPV), combustible photosynthetic vegetation (PV), and incombustible bare soil (BS) fractional cover in forest areas. This can be used to compensate for the calculation method that was based on NDVI vegetation index only by comparing vegetation cover before and after forest fires, with the omission of the NPV burned area. To this end, the NSSI-NDVI triangular space shape consistency before and after forest fires was elucidated through combustion and ash wetting experiments. In addition, the feasibility of the NSSI-NDVI triangular space method for the accurate calculation of the post-fire vegetation damage area was verified. Finally, the applicability and accuracy of this research method were verified based on 10 m spatial resolution satellite hyperspectral images from before and after the forest fire in Lushan, Sichuan Province, China. Specimens of Clavulinopsis (Clavariaceae, Agaricales) collected in China were studied using morphological and molecular methods. Six species—C. aspersa, C. bicolor, C. bispora, C. erubescens, C. incarnata, and C. tropicalis—are described as new to science, and C. trigonospora is a newly recorded species in China. Phylogenetic analysis was conducted based on a combined dataset of internal transcribed spacer and nuclear ribosomal RNA large subunit sequences. The phylogenetic reconstruction revealed that the six new species each formed an independent lineage, and the samples of C. trigonospora from China were nested with accessions of C. trigonospora collected from Italy. The morphology of the seven Chinese species is described in detail, and is illustrated with line drawings and photographs. A key to the known Clavulinopsis species in China is provided. Proto‐Tethyan orogenic processes prior to the late Ordovician collision remain unclear. Both whole‐rock La/Yb‐ and zircon Eu/Eu*‐based crustal thickness proxies along with petrological and geological observations were used to reconstruct mountain‐building history for the West Kunlun orogenic belt, China, over the span of Early Palaeozoic. Here, we demonstrate that Proto‐Tethyan West Kunlun crust has observed significant accretionary orogeneses at 520–480 Ma and 480–450 Ma and collisional orogenesis at 450–400 Ma. The 520–480 Ma accretionary orogenesis in West Kunlun together with the coeval Delamerian accretionary contractional orogenesis in eastern Australia were simultaneously induced by continent‐continent collisions that welded the Gondwana landmass. Ca. 440 Ma docking of Tarim and its eastern neighbouring blocks along the northern margin of Gondwana in turn triggered the Lachlan accretionary orogenesis along the opposite margin. Background: Drug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections rapidly increased and contributed to life-threatening nosocomial infections; however, the distribution, species, drug susceptibility and dynamic trends of P. aeruginosa infection in China remained unclear. This study was conducted to better understand the epidemiological data of increased P. aeruginosa infections from 2016 to 2022 in a hospital in China. Methods: This study involved 3301 patients infected with P. aeruginosa, diagnosed using a nosocomial infection surveillance system in a tertiary hospital between 2016 and 2022. The P. aeruginosa infections from 2016 to 2022 were assessed according to the hospital department and species, and the drug susceptibility was evaluated using 16 antimicrobial agents. Results: The P. aeruginosa infection prevalence in the hospital department was: Neurosurgery (14.30%), Emergency (13.30%), and Critical Care Medicine (11.69%). Samples for P. aeruginosa infection identification were from sputum (72.52%) and other secreta (9.91%). The P. aeruginosa infections demonstrated a greater sensitivity to amikacin (AMK, 91.82%), tobramycin (TOB, 82.79%), and gentamycin (GEN, 82.01%); however, P. aeruginosa infection demonstrated greater resistance to ticarcillin (22.57%), levofloxacin (21.63%), and ciprofloxacin (18.00%). Conclusion: The P. aeruginosa infections were commonly observed in the Neurosurgery, Emergency, and Critical Care Medicine departments and demonstrated greater sensitivity to AMK, TOB, and GEN than the other drugs. The complementary relationship (CR) between actual and potential evaporation has undergone rapid development over the past decades. Commonly, the evaluation of CR models does not comprehensively cover spatial and temporal aspects of model performance; thus, the spatial and temporal accuracy and parameter sensitivity of different CR models remain relatively unknown, especially in ungauged basins. We examine the spatial and temporal performance and parameter sensitivity of four CR models with fixed parameters at the monthly scale over the source region of the Yellow River in China. Additionally, two CR models with distributed parameters were selected as comparisons. Because of the lack of evaporation spatiotemporal "true" values, the corrected water‐balance‐derived evaporation was used as the temporal reference, and the ensemble mean of multiple evaporation products was used as the spatial reference. We find that trade‐offs between the spatial and temporal accuracy of CR models with fixed parameters for basin evaporation should be considered in the application. Although four CR models with fixed parameters exhibited different spatial and temporal performances, their overall performance was generally similar. The parameters of CR models had consistent spatial and temporal sensitivities, and the sensitivity of parameter αe was stronger than that of other parameters. This study demonstrates that CR models with distributed parameters have a promising future in estimating basin or regional evaporation. An integrated spatial and temporal evaluation framework can better distinguish the performance of CR models. The methodologies can be used as a guideline for evaluating and calibrating CR models that match an application's needs. Objectives: To analyse the patterns of transition of health burden for 110 causes of death by stratification of age, sex and geographic regions in Guangdong between 2005 and 2015.Methods: We analysed the age-specific, sex-specific, region-specific mortality in Guangdong based on assembled databases. County-level surveillance data were calculated to inform city-level changes.Results: The age-standardised mortality of all causes, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), communicable diseases, maternal diseases, neonatal diseases, malnutrition and injury declined progressively. Despite declining mortality of NCDs, the overall burden of disease was dominated by NCDs (ie, cerebrovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) that still accounted for 86.93% and 88.12% of death in 2005 and 2015, respectively. Considerable variations across geographic regions were observed (lowest in Pearl River Delta and highest in west Guangdong). There was a modest shift to transport injuries at younger ages and unintentional injuries in the elderly.Conclusions: We have documented a dramatic change in the overall mortality and age-specific, sex-specific and cause-specific mortality in Guangdong province between 2005 and 2015. The significant burden of NCDs remains a major healthcare issue despite the notable progress in reducing mortality in Guangdong, China. Our findings highlight important unmet needs to refine healthcare services by taking into account the inequity of age, sex and geographic regions. Background: The incidence of colorectal cancer among the middle-aged and elderly is gradually increasing in China. Colonoscopy is an effective method for the early diagnosis of colorectal cancer, and bowel preparation is one of many important factors affecting colonoscopy. Although there are many studies on intestinal cleansers, the results are not ideal. There is evidence that hemp seed oil has certain potential effects in intestinal cleansing, but prospective studies on this topic are still lacking. Methods: This is a randomized, double-blind, single-center clinical study. We randomly assigned 690 participants to groups each administered 3 L of polyethylene glycol (PEG), 30 mL of hemp seed oil and 2 L of PEG, or 30 mL of hempseed oil, 2 L of PEG, and 1000 mL of 5% sugar brine. The Boston Bowel Preparation Scale was considered the primary outcome measure. We evaluated the interval between consumption of bowel preparation and first bowel movement. Secondary indicators included the time of cecal intubation, detection rate of polyps and adenomas, willingness to repeat the same bowel preparation, whether the protocol was tolerated, and whether there were adverse reactions during bowel preparation and were evaluated after counting the total number of bowel movements. Discussion: This study aimed to test the hypothesis that hemp seed oil (30 mL) increases the quality of bowel preparation and reduces the amount of PEG. The leaves of Engelhardia roxburghiana Wall (LERW) has been used as sweet tea in China throughout history. In this study, the ethanol extract of LERW (E-LERW) was prepared and the compositions were identified by HPLC-MS/MS. It indicates that astilbin was the predominant component in E-LERW. In addition, E-LERW was abundant in polyphenols. Compared to astilbin, E-LERW presented much more powerful antioxidant activity. The E-LERW also had stronger affinity with α-glucosidase and exerted more vigorous inhibitory effect on the enzyme. Alloxan-induced diabetic mice had significantly elevated glucose and lipid levels. Treatment with E-LERW at the medium dose (M) of 300 mg/kg could reduce the levels of glucose, TG, TC, and LDL by 16.64%, 12.87%, 32.70%, and 22.99%, respectively. In addition, E-LERW (M) decreased food intake, water intake, and excretion by 27.29%, 36.15%, and 30.93%, respectively. Moreover, E-LERW (M) therapy increased the mouse weight and insulin secretion by 25.30% and 494.52%. With respect to the astilbin control, E-LERW was more efficient in reducing the food and drink consumption and protecting pancreatic islet and body organs from alloxan-induced damage. Objective: To explore the relationship between psychological stress and the emotional state of Chinese college students and the moderating effect of physical exercise. Methods: Students in a university in Jiangsu Province were randomly selected for the survey, and questionnaires were administered using the Physical Activity Rating Scale, the Profile of Mood States, and the Chinese College Student Psychological Stress Scale. A total of 715 questionnaires were distributed, and 494 valid questionnaires were returned. Among the students, there were 208 (42.1%) males and 286 (57.9%) females, with a mean age of 19.27 years (SD = 1.06). Results: We found a significant negative correlation between physical exercise and psychological stress (r = −0.637, p < 0.001); a significant negative correlation between physical exercise and emotional state (r = −0.032, p < 0.001); and a significant positive correlation between psychological stress and emotional state (r = 0.51, p < 0.001). Physical exercise negatively moderates the relationship between psychological stress and emotional state (B = −0.012, p < 0.01, ΔR2 = 0.007). Conclusion: Physical exercise is negatively correlated with both emotional state and psychological stress. Determining the mechanisms that drive phenotypic and genetic divergence by species has been a central topic in evolutionary biology for many years. However, the relative contributions of isolation by distance (IBD) and environment factors to species divergence are largely unknown in perennial herbs in East Asia. In this study, we collected population genetic samples of the cold‐tolerant perennial herb Notopterygium oviforme R. H. Shan in central China. We integrated the population transcriptomes, whole chloroplast genomes, genotyping‐by‐sequencing, microsatellite markers, and ecological factors to determine the relative contributions of geography, climate, and soil factors to genetic, chemical, and phenotypic divergence. A clear genetic distinction was identified between the West Qinling and East Qinling Mountains geographical groups of N. oviforme based on various molecular datasets. Interestingly, obvious niche conservation might have been responsible for the similarity of most of the leaf functional traits in the two groups. Multiple matrix regression with randomization analysis showed that the spatial intraspecific divergence pattern was mainly due to IBD rather than isolation by environment. In addition, transcriptomic expression divergence and some ecological factors have played key roles in intraspecific lineage differentiation. Approximate Bayesian Computation showed that both lineages have experienced historical population expansion and recent range contraction. Molecular dating suggested that intraspecific divergence was closely associated with dramatic uplifts of the Qinling Mountains in East Asia. These results demonstrate that geographical, geological, and environmental factors together shaped cryptic intraspecific diversification and shifts in the population dynamics of the perennial cold‐tolerant herb N. oviforme. Posttraumatic growth (PTG) is very important for breast cancer couples to cope with cancer. Individual marital adjustment can affect PTG, however, it is still unknown that the effect of marital adjustment on one's own and their spouses' PTG in breast cancer couples. To investigate the status of PTG and marital adjustment and explore the relation between PTG and marital adjustment in breast cancer patient-husband dyads. General data, marital adjustment and PTG scores of breast cancer patients (N = 206) and their husbands (N = 206) were collected through a general information questionnaire, the Post-traumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI) and Marital Adjustment Test (MAT). T-tests and structural equation models were applied to explore the relations between marital adjustment and PTG among breast cancer patients and their husbands. The PTG among breast cancer patients was significantly higher than among their husbands (P < 0.05); the score of patients' marital adjustment was 96.18 ± 22.08, and that of their husbands was 96.22 ± 22.27. The participants' marital adjustment had a positive predictive effect on their own PTG (P < 0.05), and patients' marital adjustment also had a positive predictive effect on their husbands' PTG (P < 0.05). Breast cancer patients experienced more PTG than their husbands; patients' PTG was promoted by their own marital adjustment, while husbands' PTG was promoted by both their own and the patient's marital adjustment. China's recent termination of strict COVID-19 control necessitates taking a booster vaccine shot as a precaution against the pandemic as quickly as possible. A large body of research has examined people's attitudes toward and intentions for the booster shot. However, most studies failed to explore how China's sociopolitical context has shaped their attitude regarding the booster jab take-up. The current study utilizes data from a national survey adopting quota sampling to analyze the Chinese public's medical and non-medical considerations to determine their intention for the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The study found that thanks to China's initial successful lockdown policies, personal risk and benefit perceptions did not dominate their views regarding booster vaccination. Instead, respondents' gender, nationalism, endorsement of the zero-COVID policy, self-efficacy regarding vaccination, and perceived infection severity were the major factors underlying their booster shot intention. The situation highlights how the politicized context of China's COVID-19 control has impacted people's plans to practice preventive behaviors. It is necessary to offset the negative consequences. One strategy is to educate the Chinese public with more medically relevant information to help them make rational choices regarding vaccination and other protective measures. Subsurface stormflow is a dominant runoff mechanism in steep humid mountainous areas. An insite measurement of subsurface stormflow suggests that the bedrock surface plays an important role in the runoff generation and routing process, which was rarely adopted in hydrological modelling studies. To improve the runoff simulation performance, the bedrock surface topographic index is introduced, and a modified TOPMODEL based on the bedrock surface topographic index is developed to simulate the runoff. The modified TOPMODEL is applied to the Huangbengliu (HBL), a steep watershed in Gongga Mountain, and proved to be more appropriate for the HBL watershed, especially for peak simulation. The Nash-Sutcliffe model efficiency (NSE) is improved from 0.24 to 0.58 in the calibration period and from 0.40 to 0.62 in the verification period. The result of this study can advance the understanding of the mechanism of flash floods and contribute flood control and disaster prevention in the HBL watershed and similar areas. Background: Previous analyses of grey and white matter volumes have reported that schizophrenia is associated with structural changes. Deep learning is a data-driven approach that can capture highly compact hierarchical non-linear relationships among high-dimensional features, and therefore can facilitate the development of clinical tools for making a more accurate and earlier diagnosis of schizophrenia.Aims: To identify consistent grey matter abnormalities in patients with schizophrenia, 662 people with schizophrenia and 613 healthy controls were recruited from eight centres across China, and the data from these independent sites were used to validate deep-learning classifiers.Method: We used a prospective image-based meta-analysis of whole-brain voxel-based morphometry. We also automatically differentiated patients with schizophrenia from healthy controls using combined grey matter, white matter and cerebrospinal fluid volumetric features, incorporated a deep neural network approach on an individual basis, and tested the generalisability of the classification models using independent validation sites.Results: We found that statistically reliable schizophrenia-related grey matter abnormalities primarily occurred in regions that included the superior temporal gyrus extending to the temporal pole, insular cortex, orbital and middle frontal cortices, middle cingulum and thalamus. Evaluated using leave-one-site-out cross-validation, the performance of the classification of schizophrenia achieved by our findings from eight independent research sites were: accuracy, 77.19-85.74%; sensitivity, 75.31-89.29% and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve, 0.797-0.909.Conclusions: These results suggest that, by using deep-learning techniques, multidimensional neuroanatomical changes in schizophrenia are capable of robustly discriminating patients with schizophrenia from healthy controls, findings which could facilitate clinical diagnosis and treatment in schizophrenia. To estimate the incidence of foodborne gastroenteritis caused by nontyphoidal Salmonella enterica, Shigella, and Vibrio parahaemolyticus in China, population surveys and sentinel hospital surveillance were implemented in six provinces from July 2010 to July 2011, and a multiplier calculation model for the burden of disease was constructed. The multiplier for salmonellosis and V. parahaemolyticus gastroenteritis was estimated at 4,137 [95% confidence interval (CI) 2,320–5,663], and for shigellosis at 4,356 (95% CI 2,443–5,963). Annual incidence per 100,000 population was estimated as 245 (95% CI 138–336), 67 (95% CI 38–92), and 806 (95% CI 452–1,103) for foodborne salmonellosis, shigellosis, and V. parahaemolyticus gastroenteritis, respectively, indicating that foodborne infection caused by these three pathogens constitutes an important burden to the Chinese healthcare system. Continuous implementation of active surveillance of foodborne diseases, combined with multiplier models to estimate disease burden, makes it possible for us to better understand food safety status in China. Aim: Surgical treatment is the first‐line treatment for patients with Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) stage 0 or A1 hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and postoperative monitoring improves long‐term survival. We aimed to establish a reasonable short‐interval follow‐up duration for patients with HCC. Methods: The cohort for this retrospective study included 1396 HCC patients with BCLC stage 0 or A1 disease who underwent curative resection from 2013 to 2016 at five centers in China. Hazard rates for recurrence were calculated using the hazard function. Results: The recurrence rates in patients with BCLC stage 0 and A1 HCC were 46.4% and 58.0%, respectively. The hazard curve for stage 0 patients was relatively flat, and the hazard rate was consistently low (peak hazard rate 0.0163). The hazard rate curve for recurrence was initially high (peak hazard rate 0.0441) in patients with BCLC stage A1 disease and showed a rapid decreasing trend within 1 year, followed by a slow decreasing trend, reaching a low level (<0.0163) at approximately 36 months. The time to low risk was 47, 41, and 51 months in patients with cirrhosis, hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, and satellite lesions, respectively. Conclusions: A short‐interval follow‐up of 1 year is sufficient for HCC patients with BCLC stage 0 disease, whereas a short‐interval follow‐up time of 3 years should be considered for patients with stage A1 disease. Chronic exposure to environmental cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) may have adverse effects on the human health. In this study, we aimed to determine the primary and interactive effects of Cd and Pb exposure on liver function in residents near a mining and smelting area in northwestern China. A total of 451 subjects were recruited, from which blood samples were collected to determine the levels of Cd, Pb, and liver function indices. Additionally, the association between the levels of exposure markers and liver function indices was analysed. Cd and Pb levels were significantly higher in subjects living in the polluted area than in those living in the non-polluted reference area. The liver function levels of subjects in the polluted area were poor compared with those in the reference area. In addition, Cd and Pb levels in the blood were positively associated with gamma glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) levels and negatively associated with direct bilirubin (DBil) levels. Cd and Pb may be risk factors for abnormal liver function. The risk of abnormal liver function was higher in subjects with moderate Cd and Pb levels, high Cd levels, high Pb levels, and high Cd and Pb levels than in those with low Cd and Pb levels. Our data show that exposure to Cd and/or Pb can cause abnormal liver function. Cd and Pb may have an antagonistic effect on liver function, and high Cd exposure alone has a more profound effect on abnormal liver function compared with co-exposure to Pb and Cd. BACKGROUND: Osteoporotic hip fractures have posed a significant burden to society, and more epidemiological data is required. OBJECTIVE: To compare the epidemiological differences of hip fracture patients in Spain and China. METHOD: This was a retrospective comparative study. Comparisons were made in terms of morbidity, demographic and anthropometric characteristics, length of stay, cost of hospitalization, and mortality by consulting the medical histories of osteoporotic hip fractures in two hospitals. The t test was used for measurement data, and the X2 test was used for count data. The difference is statistically significant when p< 0.05. RESULTS: A total of 757 patients were enrolled in this study, with 426 from Virgen Macarena University Hospital (HUVM) and 331 from Xi'an Daxing Hospital (XDH). The average age was 81.4 ± 9.26 and 76.0 ± 8.08 years; the proportion of women was 74.9% and 68.0%, respectively. The incidence of osteoporotic hip fractures in Seville residents over 50 years old was approximately 239 per 100,000 residents, compared to 158 per 100,000 residents in Xi'an. The timing of surgery in Spanish patients was significantly longer than in Chinese patients, 78.7 ± 48.2 vs. 60.7 ± 43.1 hours, p= 0.000. There were 81 deaths in Spain and 43 deaths in China during the one-year follow-up period (p= 0.026). CONCLUSIONS: In terms of incidence, demographics, surgical methods, and mortality, there are significant differences between hip fracture patients in Seville, Spain and Xi'an, China. Accurate estimation of regional and global patterns of ecosystem respiration (ER) is crucial to improve the understanding of terrestrial carbon cycles and the predictive ability of the global carbon budget. However, large uncertainties still exist in regional and global ER estimation due to the drawbacks of modeling methods. Based on eddy covariance ER data from 132 sites in China from 2002 to 2020, we established Intelligent Random Forest (IRF) models that integrated ecological understanding with machine learning techniques to estimate ER. The results showed that the IRF models performed better than semiempirical models and machine learning algorithms. The observed data revealed that gross primary productivity (GPP), living plant biomass, and soil organic carbon (SOC) were of great importance in controlling the spatiotemporal variability of ER across China. An optimal model governed by annual GPP, living plant biomass, SOC, and air temperature (IRF‐04 model) matched 93% of the spatiotemporal variation in site‐level ER, and was adopted to evaluate the spatiotemporal pattern of ER in China. Using the optimal model, we obtained that the annual value of ER in China ranged from 5.05 to 5.84 Pg C yr−1 between 2000 and 2020, with an average value of 5.53 ± 0.22 Pg C yr−1. In this study, we suggest that future models should integrate process‐based and data‐driven approaches for understanding and evaluating regional and global carbon budgets. Background. Inflammatory bowel disease is difficult to cure, which seriously affects the physical and mental health of children and brings negative psychological stress to guardians. Uncertainty in illness of guardians reduces the ability of care and is not conducive to the treatment and recovery of children. Therefore, it is of great significance to explore the related factors of uncertainty in illness. Objective. The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between sense of disease uncertainty and family strength and mental resilience in guardians of children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Method. A total of 146 guardians of 88 children with inflammatory bowel disease were investigated. The guardians' sense of disease uncertainty, family strength, and mental resilience were evaluated by Mishel uncertainty in illness scale-family member (MUIS-FM), family hardiness index (FHI), and Connor–Davidson resilience sca1e (CD-RISC), respectively. Spearman correlation was used for analyzing the correlation between the guardian's sense of disease uncertainty and family resilience. Results. The guardian's MUIS-FM score from lowest to highest was complexity, unpredictability, lack of information, and uncertainty. The average scores of FHI and CD-RISC were lower than the average score of CD-RISC of the general community in China 65.4 (t = −4.36, P < 0.05). The score of MUIS-FM was significantly correlated with the scores of FHI and CD-RISC (P < 0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the challenge score in the FHI scale and the fortitude score and the strength score in the CD-RISC scale were the main influencing factors of guardians' sense of disease uncertainty in children with IBD (P < 0.05). Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) bile duct tumor thrombus (BDTT) have a high rate of postoperative recurrence. We aimed to describe the patterns and kinetics of recurrence in BDTT patients and provide management options accordingly. This retrospective study included 311 HCC patients with BDTT who underwent surgery from 2009 to 2017 at five centers in China. The hazard rate of recurrence was calculated using the hazard function. The hazard rate of intrahepatic recurrence was higher than that of extrahepatic recurrence (0.0588 vs. 0.0301), and both showed a decreasing trend, and the intrahepatic recurrence and extrahepatic recurrence risk decreased to a lower level after 40 and 20 months, respectively. Patients who underwent anatomic resection had a consistently lower hazard rate of recurrence than patients who underwent nonanatomic resection, whereas patients who received postoperative adjuvant transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) mainly had a lower hazard rate of recurrence in the first year than patients who did not. The follow-up of BDTT patients should be at least 40 months because of its high rate of recurrence, in parallel with the need for vigilance for extrahepatic recurrence within 20 months. The energy-saving solar greenhouse (ESSG) represents a Chinese-type agricultural building of facilitating low-energy and zero-carbon vegetable overwintering production in high latitudes and cold regions. However, its application benefit outside of China has been limited. To establish an operational ESSG design scheme applicable worldwide, this study developed a comprehensive methodology and specific parameters for different latitudinal regions. The ESSG design was determined based on considerations of daylighting, thermal insulation, heat storage-release capacity, and structural safety. Through validation in six representative regions, the reliability of the ESSG design methodology was confirmed. The optimal design values for front roof angle, ridge height, and back wall height were identified across different latitudes. ESSG in various latitudinal regions from 32°N to 48°N exhibited annual cumulative temperatures could reach 8 × 103∼1.3 × 104°C and accumulated light interception could reach 2 × 1012∼4 × 1012J. Even in the 48°N region, the average internal temperature of the greenhouse exceeded 8 °C, with a nighttime cooling rate lower than 0.75 °C/h and a maximum temperature difference between internal and external environments exceeding 40 °C. This suggests the ESSG fully meets the non-heated overwintering production requirements for common vegetables. The skarn is one of the most significant Cu–Pb–Zn mineralization worldwide. The timing of the magmatic-hydrothermal activity is of importance for understanding the Cu–Pb–Zn mineralization process. The Cu–Pb–Zn skarn mineralization has been recognized in the northwestern section of the Wulonggou gold ore field, Eastern Kunlun Orogen (EKLO), NW China. However, no precise geochronological data has been measured for the Cu–Pb–Zn mineralization, and the source of ore-forming materials is also not well studied. In this study, we present new LA-ICPMS U–Pb ages and Sr–Nd–Hf isotopic compositions for granodiorite and diorite in the northern section of the Wulonggou gold ore field, as well as an Ar–Ar age for phlogopite and Pb isotopic compositions for sulfides and intrusions, further to constrain the ages of mineralization and magmatism, and the source of ore-forming materials. Two granodiorite samples yield mean ages of 245 ± 2 to 243 ± 2 Ma and a diorite has a mean age of 245 ± 2 Ma. A phlogopite sample, which is associated with Cu–Pb–Zn mineralization, has been chosen to precisely date the formation of Cu–Pb–Zn ores by Ar–Ar method and yields a well–defined plateau age of 240.4 ± 1.2 Ma. These results indicate that the Cu–Pb–Zn skarn mineralization formed in the Middle Triassic and is closely related to the coeval magmatism. The ε Hf (t) values of the ore-related granodioritic and dioritic rocks range from −2.8 to +2.5, whereas an un-mineralized granodiorite sample (WHFG–1) shows lower ε Hf (t) values of –9.3 to –3.4, indicating that these magmatic rocks are derived from the mixing of magma with different proportions of mantle- and crust-components. A mixing model with ∼40–70 % mantle contribution involved in the formation of ore-related granodiorite and diorite was revealed by Sr–Nd–Hf isotopic compositions. Combined with Pb isotopic compositions for sulfides, feldspar, and bulk rocks, we consider a common source for the ore-forming materials and magmatism. In addition, higher ε Hf (t) and ε Nd (t) values for ore-related magmatism implicate that mantle-derived melts show a vital role in the Cu–Pb–Zn skarn mineralization process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Streamflow in semiarid areas, especially in North China, was rapidly decreasing, which made it important to analyze the characteristics and influencing factors of streamflow. Using the hydro-meteorological data series of 1961–2017 in the upper Yongding River Basin (UYRB) (including the Yang River Basin (YRB) and Sanggan River Basin (SRB)), spatio-temporal variation characteristics of air temperature, precipitation, and potential evapotranspiration (E0) were analyzed. The results showed that precipitation has no significant trend; the temperature showed a significant increase of 0.1–0.5 °C per decade; E0 showed a significant decrease of approximately −2 mm/10yr (in 18 stations); the estimated rates of streamflow change were −7 and −8 mm/10yr for SRB and YRB. As for spatial distribution, the YRB presented a higher E0 value than the SRB; the mountain areas had more precipitation than the plain areas. The change points of streamflow occurred in 1982 and 2003. Both the Budyko and the DMC methods were used to evaluate the impacts of climate change and human activities on the mean annual streamflow. In variation stage I (1983~2003), impacts of human activities account for 90.6% and 62.7% of the mean annual streamflow changes in YRB and SRB, respectively. In variation stage II (2004~2017), the percentages were 99.5% and 93.5%, respectively. It is also noted that the first change point in streamflow was indeed at the beginning of China's land reform, when the farmers could manage their reallocated lands and, therefore, there was an increase in agricultural water consumption. The second change point coincided with "Capital Water Resources Planning", including water conservation projects and irrigation district construction programs. In general, human activities were mainly responsible for the significant decline in the annual streamflow of UYRB. This paper will provide valuable results for water resources planning and give guidance on the construction of water conservation function areas and ecological environment support areas in the capital. Background: We aimed to explore the association between long-term exposure to particulate matter ≤ 2.5 µm (PM2.5) and metabolic syndrome (MetS) and its components including fasting blood glucose (FBG), blood pressure, triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) and waist circumference among adults and elderly in south China.Methods: We surveyed 6628 participants in the chronic disease and risk factors surveillance conducted in 14 districts of Guangdong province in 2015. MetS was defined based on the recommendation by the Joint Interim Societies' criteria. We used the spatiotemporal land-use regression (LUR) model to estimate the two-year average exposure of ambient air pollutants (PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NO2, and O3) at individual levels. We recorded other covariates by using a structured questionnaire. Generalized linear mixed model was used for analysis.Results: A 10-μg/m3 increase in the two-year mean PM2.5 exposure was associated with a higher risk of developing MetS [odd ratio (OR): 1.17, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.01, 1.35], increased risk of fasting blood glucose level. (OR: 1.18, 95% CI: 1.02, 1.36), and hypertriglyceridemia (OR: 1.36, 95% CI: 1.18, 1.58) in the adjusted/unadjusted models (all P < 0.05). We found significant interaction between PM2.5 and the region, exercise on the high TG levels, and an interaction with the region, age, exercise and grain consumption on FBG (P interaction < 0.05).Conclusions: Long-term exposure to PM2.5 was associated with MetS, dyslipidemia and FBG impairment.
