Background: Classical swine fever and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome have seriously affected the development of the swine breeding industry in China. Vaccine immunization remains the main way to prevent these infections. The aim of this study was to establish an optimized protocol for vaccine immunization against classical swine fever virus (CSFV) and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV). Methods: Blood samples were collected from the anterior vena cava of pigs after immunization, and blood indices, secreted levels of specific antibodies and neutralizing antibodies associated with humoral immunity, the proliferation capacity of T lymphocytes as a measure of cellular immunity, and secreted levels of IFN-γ and TNF-α were determined. Results: The results showed that simultaneous immunization against CSFV and PRRSV infections induced strong and specific humoral and T-cellular immune responses, high levels of cytokine IFN-γ secretion and delayed secretion of cytokine TNF-α. Moreover, significantly higher lymphocyte percentages and red blood cell and leukocyte counts were found in the group simultaneously immunized against CSFV and PRRSV. However, no statistically significant differences were observed in hemoglobin values, neutrophil counts, and median cell percentages among the S + PRRS, PRRS-S, and S-PRRS groups. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that simultaneous immunization against CSFV and PRRSV had the advantages of inducing a rapid, enhanced, and long-lasting immune response. These findings provide a theoretical basis for the establishment of a reasonable and optimized vaccine immunization protocol against CSFV and PRRSV in combination with a variety of other vaccine inoculations. Aims: Nitrogenous fertilizer has been recognized as a key factor regulating nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from agricultural soils. However, the effect of nitrogen (N) fertilization of preceding season on soil N2O emission in subsequent season remain poorly understood. Methods: Herein, a field-based study was done to examine the effect of prior N fertilization on N2O emissions under a rapeseed-rice rotation (RR) system in central China. Treatments were as follows: no N fertilizer was applied in both rapeseed and rice-growing seasons (N0-0), N fertilizer (150 kg N ha−1 y−1) was only applied during rapeseed-growing season (N150-0,), N fertilizer (150 kg N ha−1 y−1) was applied in both rapeseed and rice-growing seasons (N150-150), and N fertilizer (150 kg N ha−1 y−1) was only applied during rice-growing season (N0-150). Soil N2O fluxes and the key soil factors (soil available C and N and their ratios, soil temperature and moisture) that further drive N2O emissions were determined after N fertilization in preceding and subsequent seasons. Results: The application of N fertilizer during the rapeseed-growing season caused a significant increase in soil N2O emission from rice-growing season, but no such promotion effect was observed during rapeseed growing season due to N fertilization during prior rice season. Higher N2O emission from rapeseed-growing season, after N fertilization was attributed to high soil mineral nitrogen content (including NH4+-N and NO3−-N). N2O efflux was higher when dissolved organic carbon (DOC) to NO3− content ratio (DOC/NO3−) was < 0.5 but lower when DOC/NO3− ratio was > 0.5 for both N150-0 and N150-150 treatments. Pulse N2O emission during the rice-growing period was observed due to higher soil DOC content derived from soil organic matter decomposition. The positive correlation between soil N2O fluxes and DOC/NO3− ratio for both N150-150 and N0-150, also revealed that soil available carbon to nitrogen ratio could be a crucial factor regulating peaks of N2O during the rice season. Structural equation model (SEM) displayed the explanation of impact factors on N2O emission was 62% during the rapeseed-growing season, while that explanation was 45% during the rice-growing season. Conclusions: These results showed that not only labile C and N content, but also soil DOC/NO3−, influenced by prior N fertilization, play a key role in soil N2O emissions under the RR system. The all-round and multilevel responses to the epidemic, with professional medical institutions, the governments and the public as the main agents of response and the media as the bridge of communication, are key to developing the public health emergency management system with regard to emerging infectious diseases and diseases with unknown etiology in the information age. This study creates an analysis framework concerning the five dimensions of information—the epidemic itself and the medical, governmental, public and media responses—and analyzes the evolution, interaction and trends of five dimensions using big data within the period of observation For the four dimensions other than the media response, the level of information related to the epidemic and the medical response is relatively high, while the level of response by medical institutions and the governments are similar, and both are higher than the public response. The media coverage of the epidemic remains at a high level of information. In relation to such diseases, the government should take the role of big data analytics seriously, lead a multi-agent social collaboration network, and further strengthen the 'One Planning Plus Three Systems' framework related to emergency management in China. Background: Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is a zoonotic infectious disease commonly found in Asia and Europe, characterized by fever, hemorrhage, shock, and renal failure. China is the most severely affected region, necessitating an analysis of the temporal incidence patterns in the country., Methods: We employed Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Nonlinear AutoRegressive with eXogenous inputs (NARX), and a hybrid CNN-LSTM model to model and forecast time series data spanning from January 2009 to November 2023 in the mainland China. By comparing the simulated performance of these models on training and testing sets, we determined the most suitable model., Results: Overall, the CNN-LSTM model demonstrated optimal fitting performance (with Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), and Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 93.77/270.66, 7.59%/38.96%, and 64.37/189.73 for the training and testing sets, respectively, lower than those of individual CNN or LSTM models)., Conclusion: The hybrid CNN-LSTM model seamlessly integrates CNN's data feature extraction and LSTM's recurrent prediction capabilities, rendering it theoretically applicable for simulating diverse distributed time series data. Worldwide countries are recognising the need for and significance of universal health coverage (UHC); however, health inequality continues to persist. This study evaluates the status and equity of residents' demand for and utilisation of health services and expenditure by considering the three components of universal health coverage, urban-rural differences, and different income groups. Sample data from China's Fifth Health Service Survey were analysed and the 'five levels of income classification' were used to classify people into income groups. This study used descriptive analysis and concentration index and concentration curve for equity evaluation. Statistically significant differences were found in the demand and utilisation of health services between urban and rural residents. Rural residents' demand and utilisation of health services decreased with an increase in income and their health expenditure was higher than that of urban residents. Compared with middle- and high-income rural residents, middle- and lower-income rural residents faced higher hospitalisation expenses; and, compared with urban residents, equity in rural residents' demand and utilisation of health services, and annual health and hospitalisation expenditures, were poorer. Thus, equity of health service utilisation and expenditure for urban and rural residents with different incomes remain problematic, requiring improved access and health policies.

Background: Many Chinese elderly increasingly face the serious problem of the "empty nest" phenomenon. The elderly living independently, also called empty-nest elderly, refers to elderly people living alone whose children left home. However few studies concerned about the subjective well-being (SWB) of the elderly living independently., Methods: This study employs The Memorial University of Newfoundland Scale of Happiness (MUNSH) to explore the SWB of the elderly living independently in rural areas of Wenzhou, a relatively developed region in China. 536 sampled are randomly selected., Results: The results indicate that participants obtained low scores in positive affect, positive experience, and the total SWB score, but high scores in negative affect and negative experience. Age, low education, poor health condition and little income were found to be negatively correlated with SWB. The SWB score of the elderly living with a spouse is higher than those who divorced or lost their spouse and the score of women is lower than that of men. In addition, the survey revealed that children's support has a positive influence on the SWB of the rural elderly living independently., Conclusions: The elderly living independently in rural Wenzhou, China have unfavorable SWB. Poor socio-economic statuses are negative impact factors. But the children's support can help to improve. Special attention is needed to those with lower socio-economic status and less children's support.
