The process of the language acquisition of children is reflected in two aspects; language structure and pragmatic functions. Data from "The Longtime Tracing Oral Corpus of Typical Development Children" (one child; 2,367 sentences) are analyzed. This study examines the child's sentence final particle (SFP) "ba", in which we focused on the intention of this word and concluding with the core pragmatic meaning and divided the different levels of "ba". In this way, we combined the different sentence types, the intentions of utterance, and the degrees of "undetermined intention" and researched on the pragmatic function of child's SFP "ba" in order to obtain the pragmatic acquisition of "ba" at the specific development period (1;12-4;01). The acquisition and development of children's language is the result of a combination of biological factors, discourse input, and cognitive ability. Finally, the enlightenment of the research conclusions on early childhood education are pointed out.

Drought stress exerts a significant impact on the growth, development, and yield of fruit trees. Cerasus humilis is an endemic drought‐resistant fruit tree in northern China. To elucidate the underlying mechanism of drought resistance in C. humilis, comprehensive physiological measurements and transcriptome analysis were conducted on the leaves of C. humilis subjected to 15‐ or 22‐days of drought stress. We identified multiple GO terms and KEGG pathways associated with the drought stress response by performing GO and KEGG analysis on DEGs. Furthermore, through the prediction of transcription factors (TFs) and analysis of their expression levels, we observed differential expression patterns among most members of stress‐responsive TF families as the duration of drought stress increased. WGCNA analysis was performed on the transcriptome to identify gene cluster modules that exhibited a strong correlation with the durations of drought. Subsequently, these modules underwent GO and KEGG enrichment analyses. The study revealed that the TF‐mediated lignin biosynthesis pathway, along with the plant hormone signal transduction pathway, played a prominent role in responding to drought stress of C. humilis. Gene profiling analysis, qRT‐PCR, and determination of phytohormone and lignin contents further supported this hypothesis. The hierarchical gene regulatory network was finally constructed based on DEGs from the aforementioned key enriched pathways to predict the gene regulatory mechanisms in response to stress for C. humilis. The findings from this study provide valuable insights into how C. humilis copes with drought stress while analyzing crucial gene pathways associated with its resistance from a TF perspective. Halophilic Archaea are widely distributed globally in hypersaline environments. However, little is known of how dominant halophilic archaeal genera are distributed across environments and how they may co-associate across ecosystems. Here, the archaeal community composition and diversity from hypersaline environments (> 300 g/L salinity; total of 33 samples) in the Qaidam Basin of China were investigated using high-throughput Illumina sequencing of 16S rRNA genes. The archaeal communities (total of 3,419 OTUs) were dominated by the class Halobacteria (31.7–99.6% relative abundances) within the phylum Euryarchaeota (90.8–99.9%). Five predominant taxa, including Halorubrum, Halobacterium, Halopenitus, Methanothrix, and Halomicrobium, were observed across most samples. However, several distinct genera were associated with individual samples and were inconsistently distributed across samples, which contrast with previous studies of hypersaline archaeal communities. Additionally, co-occurrence network analysis indicated that five network clusters were present and potentially reflective of interspecies interactions among the environments, including three clusters (clusters II, III, and IV) comprising halophilic archaeal taxa within the Halobacteriaceae and Haloferacaceae families. In addition, two other clusters (clusters I and V) were identified that comprised methanogens. Finally, salinity comprising ionic concentrations (in the order of Na+ > Ca2+ > Mg2+) and pH were most correlated with taxonomic distributions across sample sites. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Heterosis refers to superior traits exhibiting in a hybrid when compared with both parents. Generally, the hybridization between parents can change the expression pattern of some proteins such as non-additive proteins (NAPs) which might lead to heterosis. 'Zhongdan808' (ZD808) and 'Zhongdan909' (ZD909) are excellent maize hybrids in China, however, the heterosis mechanism of them are not clear. Proteomics has been wildly used in many filed, and comparative proteomic analysis of hybrid and its parents is helpful for understanding the mechanism of heterosis in the two maize hybrids. Results: Over 2000 protein groups were quantitatively identified from second seedling leaves of two hybrids and their parents by label-free quantification. Statistical analysis of total identified proteins, differentially accumulated proteins (DAPs) and NAPs of the two hybrids revealed that both of them were more similar to their female parents. In addition, most of DAPs were up-regulated and most of NAPs were high parent abundance or above-high parent abundance in ZD808, while in ZD909, most of DAPs were down-regulated and most of NAPs were low parent abundance or below-low parent abundance. Pathway enrichment analysis showed that more of stress response-related NAPs in ZD808 were high parent abundance or above-high parent abundance, and most of PS related NAPs in ZD909 were high parent abundance or above-high parent abundance. Finally, four stress response-related proteins and eight proteins related to PS were verified by PRM, ten of them had significant differences between hybrid and midparent value. Conclusions: Even though every one of the two hybrids were more similar to its female parent at proteome level, the biological basis of heterosis is different in the two maize hybrids. In comparison with their parents, the excellent agronomic traits of hybrid ZD808 is mainly correlated with the high expression levels of some proteins related to stress responses and metabolic functions, while traits of ZD909 is mainly correlated with high expressed proteins related to photosynthesis. Variation in leaf veins along environmental gradients reflects an important adaptive strategy of plants to the external habitats, because of their crucial roles in maintaining leaf water status and photosynthetic capacity. However, most studies concentrate on a few species and their vein variation across horizontal spatial scale, we know little about how vein traits shift along the vertical scale, e.g., elevational gradient along a mountain, and how such patterns are shaped by plant types and environmental factors. Here, we aimed to investigate the variation in leaf vein traits (i.e., vein density, VD; vein thickness, VT; and vein volume per unit leaf area, VV) of 93 woody species distributed along an elevational gradient (1,374–3,375 m) in a temperate mountain in China. Our results showed that altitude-related trends differed between growth forms. Tree plants from higher altitudes had lower VD but higher VT and VV than those from lower altitude; however, the opposite tend was observed in VD of shrubs, and no significant altitudinal changes in their VT or VV. Plant phylogenetic information at the clade level rather than climate explained most of variation in three leaf vein traits (17.1–86.6% vs. <0.011–6.3% explained variance), supporting the phylogenetic conservatism hypothesis for leaf vein traits. Moreover, the phylogenetic effects on vein traits differed between trees and shrubs, with the vein traits of trees being relatively more conserved. Together, our study provides new picture of leaf vein variation along the altitude, and highlights the importance of taking plant phylogeny into consideration when discussing trait variation from an ecological to a biogeographic scale. It is reported that there are hundreds of thousands of deaths caused by seasonal flu all around the world every year. More other diseases such as chickenpox, malaria, etc. are also serious threats to people's physical and mental health. There are 250,000-500,000 deaths every year around the world. Therefore proper techniques for disease surveillance are highly demanded. Recently, social media analysis is regarded as an efficient way to achieve this goal, which is feasible since growing number of people have been posting their health information on social media such as blogs, personal websites, etc. Previous work on social media analysis mainly focused on English materials but hardly considered Chinese materials, which hinders the application of such technique to Chinese people. In this paper, we proposed a new method of Chinese social media analysis for disease surveillance. More specifically, we compared different kinds of methods in the process of classification and then proposed a new way to process Chinese text data. The Chinese Sina micro-blog data collected from September to December 2013 are used to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The results show that a high classification precision of 87.49 % in average has been obtained. Ectropis grisescens and Ectropis obliqua are sibling species of tea-chewing pests. An investigation of the distribution of tea geometrids was implemented for enhancing controlling efficiency. E. grisescens is distributed across a wider range of tea-producing areas than Ectropis obliqua in China with sympatric distribution found in some areas. In order to explore reproductive isolation mechanisms in co-occurrence areas, hybridization experiments were carried out. Results showed they can mate but produce infertile hybrids. During experiments, the desynchronized development phenomenon was found in the hybridized generation of sibling tea geometrids. Furthermore, transcriptome analysis of those individuals of fast-growing and slow-growing morphs revealed that the insect hormone biosynthesis pathway was enriched in two unsynchronized development groups of hybrid offspring. More importantly, some genes regulating the synthesis of moulting hormone showed significantly up-regulated expression in fast-growing groups. Above all, metabolism of the juvenile hormone and synthesis of the ecdysone pathway were found to be crucially involved in the desynchronized development phenomenon. The acidification of the marginal seawater was a more intricate process than the ocean. Although some studies have been done on seasonal acidification in the bottom water of Chinese marginal seas, research on surface water acidification has still been insufficient. We analyzed the acidification properties and controlling factors in the Bohai Sea (BS) and Yellow Sea (YS) surface water during April 2023. The observation showed that the average surface water pH of the BS, North Yellow Sea (NYS), and South Yellow Sea (SYS) were 8.09 ± 0.06, 8.13 ± 0.05, and 8.15 ± 0.05. Phytoplankton significantly impacted pH and Ω arag , while riverine inputs and biological activity played a vital role in controlling DIC and TA. The Yellow River significantly impacted the BS. The North Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass had a limited impact on acidification, while the South Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass significantly affected the SYS. Regarding seasonal fluctuations, Ω arag was significantly higher in summer than in other seasons. DIC and TA showed different patterns in both the BS and YS, with a minimal fluctuation in pH. Over the last two decades, the pH in the BS showed a slight annual decline, and the rate of change was (-1.45 ± 2.19) × 10 -5 yr -1 . In contrast, the NYS and SYS have slightly risen, with rates of change of (2.39 ± 1.24) × 10 -5 and (1.23 ± 0.76) × 10 -5 yr -1 . We believed that surface water acidification in the BS and YS did not follow the expected trend of significant acidification observed in open oceanic regions. Abnormal plasma uric acid (UA) levels, the lipid profile, and plasma proteins in blood are associated with a range of adverse health outcomes. This multicenter, prospective cohort study aimed to determine the possible effects of multiple apheresis plasma donations on plasma UA levels, the lipid profile, and major proteins in plasma donors. Participants were enrolled from 1 April 2021 to 31 August 2022. When their plasma UA (men: >420 µmol/L, women: >360 µmol/L) and/or lipid levels (total cholesterol [TC]: ≥6.2 mmol/L, triglycerides [TGs]: ≥2.3 mmol/L, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol: ≥4.1 mmol/L, or high-density lipoprotein cholesterol [HDL-C]: <1.0 mmol/L) were abnormal at their first plasma donation, the enrolled participants were followed up until they had completed 10 plasma donations. A total of 11485 participants were enrolled, of whom 1861 met the inclusion criteria. During the study period, 320 donors completed 10 plasma donations. None of the participants took any corrective medicine for their abnormal index. The measured parameters were significantly different from the first to the tenth plasma donations (donors with asymptomatic hyperuricemia: UA, P < 0.001; donors with asymptomatic hyperlipidemia: HDL-C, P < 0.001; TC, P = 0.025; TGs, P < 0.001; apolipoprotein B, P = 0.025; all of the plasma donors, immunoglobulin G, P < 0.001). The levels of HDL-C, TC, and apolipoprotein B were increased, and the levels of UA, TGs, and immunoglobulin G were decreased over this time. However, immunoglobulin G levels were still in the normal range. Moreover, the changes in these parameters were closely associated with the frequency of plasma donation during the study period.
