Biopesticides are an important component of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs for insect pest control since they are more natural, environmentally friendly, safer than chemical pesticides and have relatively no or little effect on non-target organisms. They aid in improving crop health and yields while lowering production costs and eliminating the usage of toxic chemicals. They are effective tools for creating new sustainable agricultural products. Several botanicals and microbial biopesticides have been identified, isolated, processed, and used to eliminate hazards caused by Coleopteran, Hemipteran, Dipteran, Lepidopteran, Hymenopteran, and Thysanopteran insects. Several species of botanicals such as Neem (Azadirachta indica A.), Chili pepper (Capsicum annuum), Garlic (Allium sativum), Moringa (Moringa oleifera), Clove basil (Ocimum gratissimum), China berry (Melia azedarach), bitter leaf (Vernonia amygdalina) etc. and microbes such as Bacillus thuringiensis, Beauveria bassiana, Metarhizium anisopliae, Baculovirus (Nucleopolyhedrovirus (NPV) and Granulovirus (GV), Steinernema carpocapsae, Nosema, etc. have been used as biopesticides. Because biopesticides are successful in managing insect pests and diseases while also being safe to humans and the environment, they must be manufactured in the country and made available to farmers. The rocks of the Indian subcontinent are last seen south of the Ganges before they plunge beneath the Himalaya and the Tibetan plateau. They are next glimpsed in seismic reflection profiles deep beneath southern Tibet, yet the surface seen there has been modified by processes within the Himalaya that have consumed parts of the upper Indian crust and converted them into Himalayan rocks. The geometry of the partly dismantled Indian plate as it passes through the Himalayan process zone has hitherto eluded imaging. Here we report seismic images both of the decollement at the base of the Himalaya and of the Moho (the boundary between crust and mantle) at the base of the Indian crust. A significant finding is that strong seismic anisotropy develops above the decollement in response to shear processes that are taken up as slip in great earthquakes at shallower depths. North of the Himalaya, the lower Indian crust is characterized by a high-velocity region consistent with the formation of eclogite, a high-density material whose presence affects the dynamics of the Tibetan plateau. Background: Aflatoxin contamination caused by Aspergillus fungi has been a serious factor affecting food safety of peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) because aflatoxins are highly harmful for human and animal health. As three mechanisms of resistance to aflatoxin in peanut including shell infection resistance, seed infection resistance and aflatoxin production resistance exist among naturally evolved germplasm stocks, it is highly crucial to pyramid these three resistances for promoting peanut industry development and protecting consumers' health. However, less research effort has been made yet to investigate the differentiation and genetic relationship among the three resistances in diversified peanut germplasm collections., Results: In this study, the Chinese peanut mini-mini core collection selected from a large basic collection was systematically evaluated for the three resistances against A. flavus for the first time. The research revealed a wide variation among the diversified peanut accessions for all the three resistances. Totally, 14 resistant accessions were identified, including three with shell infection resistance, seven with seed infection resistance and five with aflatoxin production resistance. A special accession, Zh.h1312, was identified with both seed infection and aflatoxin production resistance. Among the five botanic types of A. hypogaea, the var. vulgaris (Spanish type) belonging to subspecies fastigiata is the only one which possessed all the three resistances. There was no close correlation between shell infection resistance and other two resistances, while there was a significant positive correlation between seed infection and toxin production resistance. All the three resistances had a significant negative correlation with pod or seed size. A total of 16 SNPs/InDels associated with the three resistances were identified through genome-wide association study (GWAS). Through comparative analysis, Zh.h1312 with seed infection resistance and aflatoxin production resistance was also revealed to possess all the resistance alleles of associated loci for seed infection index and aflatoxin content., Conclusions: This study provided the first comprehensive understanding of differentiation of aflatoxin resistance in diversified peanut germplasm collection, and would further contribute to the genetic enhancement for resistance to aflatoxin contamination., (© 2022. This study was to investigate whether the common polymorphisms of CD40 and CTLA4 genes confer susceptibility to AITD in the Chinese population. A set of unrelated subjects including 303 GD patients, 208 HT patients, and 215 matched healthy controls were recruited. SNPs were genotyped by the method of PCR-RFLP. (1) As for CD40 C/T(-1) SNP, only a significant difference was found in allele frequencies between GD and control groups (P = 0.033). (2) On the part of CTLA-4 A/G(49) SNP, significant differences were found in genotype and allele frequencies between GD and control groups (P = 7.0 × 10(-5) and P = 0.002, respectively), and similar results were found between HT and control groups (P = 0.015 and P = 0.003, respectively). (3) The logistic regression analysis showed there was no interaction between CD40 and CTLA4 genotypes (P = 0.262). These results indicate that both CTLA-4 A/G(49) and CD40 C/T(-1) SNPs are associated with genetic susceptibility of GD, and CTLA-4 A/G(49) is also associated with HT.
