Collaborative learning in online contexts is emotionally challenging for language learners. To achieve successful learning outcomes, language learners need to regulate their emotions and sustain positive emotions during the collaborative learning process. This study investigated language learners' emotion regulation and enjoyment, the most extensively researched positive emotion in foreign language learning, in an online collaborative English learning environment. In the study, we collected data by surveying 336 Chinese students majoring in English who collaboratively completed a series of English language writing tasks in 108 online groups facilitated by a social media app (WeChat). Principal component analysis revealed two primary types of emotion regulation: peer regulation and group regulation. The analysis also revealed one factor underpinning enjoyment: enjoyment of online collaboration. Correlation analysis showed medium and positive relationships between peer regulation, group regulation, and enjoyment of online collaboration. Structural equation modeling analysis further found that group regulation exerted a medium-sized direct effect on enjoyment of online collaboration. Peer regulation affected enjoyment of online collaboration moderately and indirectly via group regulation. The theoretical and pedagogical implications of the findings can help to optimize face-to-face and online collaborative language learning activities.

In recent years, adolescent sleep problems have received increasing attention. Stressful life events have been found to be a risk factor for sleep problems, but little is known about the components that may explain or influence this association. To investigate this, the present study tested whether depressive symptoms mediated the association between stressful life events and Chinese freshmen' sleep problems, as well as whether emotional regulation skills moderated this process. A sample of 513 Chinese freshmen (32.2% males, mean age = 19.04 years, SD = 1.21) completed anonymous questionnaires regarding stressful life events, depressive symptoms, emotional regulation and sleep problems (examined using Adolescent Self-Rating Life Events Checklist, Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale for Children, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and Response to Stress Questionnaire). The study included covariates such as gender, age, and socioeconomic level. Depressive symptoms were shown to partially mediated the association between stressful life events and sleep problems in structural equation models. Emotional regulation moderated the relationship betweenn stressful life events and depressive symptoms. The results show that promoting emotional regulation could be beneficial in preventing and intervening sleep problems related to stressful life events.

Background: Pediatric septic shock is a critical condition associated with high mortality rates, largely due to sepsis-induced immunosuppression. Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) has been explored as a therapeutic intervention to counteract this immunosuppression. Despite its potential, the efficacy of GM-CSF in pediatric septic shock has not been clearly established. This study aims to investigate the impact of GM-CSF administration on survival rates and to identify key predictors of treatment outcomes in pediatric septic shock patients. Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of Children's Hospital of Fudan University, Shanghai, from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2023. The study included pediatric patients diagnosed with septic shock, analyzing their demographic data, GM-CSF and adjunctive therapies, laboratory results, and clinical outcomes. We employed univariate and multivariate logistic regression models to assess the influence of GM-CSF on 28-day mortality and identify significant predictors of treatment outcomes. Results: The study included 200 pediatric patients, with 66 receiving GM-CSF treatment and 134 not treated with GM-CSF. The initial comparison showed a higher 28-day mortality in the GM-CSF group (59.1%) compared to the non-GM-CSF group (35.1%, P = 0.001). Notably, after adjustment for confounding factors, multivariate analysis revealed that the effect of GM-CSF treatment on 28-day mortality among pediatric septic shock patients did not reach statistical significance, with an odds ratio (OR) of 0.472 and a 95% confidence interval (CI) ranging from 0.153 to 1.457 (P = 0.192). However, the analysis indicated a potential trend suggesting that GM-CSF treatment may contribute to a reduction in 28-day mortality. In addition, significant predictors of treatment outcomes included hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), lactic acid (LAC) levels, hospital-acquired septic shock (HASS), red blood cell (RBC) count, and platelet (PLT) count. Conclusions: GM-CSF treatment may benefit pediatric septic shock patients, especially those with higher lactic acid, and lower RBC and platelet counts. Objectives: To compare the stress distribution and crack propagation in cracked mandibular first molar restored with onlay, overlay, and two types of occlusal veneers using two different CAD/CAM materials by Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Materials and methods: A mandibular first molar was digitized using a micro CT scanning system in 2023. Three-dimensional dynamic scan data were transformed, and a 3D model of a cracked tooth was generated. Finite element models of four different models (onlay, overlay, and two types of occlusal veneer restored teeth) were designed. Two different CAD/CAM materials, including Lava Ultimate (LU) and IPS e.max CAD (EMX), were specified for both models. Each model was subjected to three different force loads on the occlusal surfaces. Stress distribution patterns and the maximum von Mises (VM) stresses were calculated and compared. Results: Compared to the base model, all restorations showed that high-stress concentration moved from the lower margin of the crack area towards the top of the crack area. The EMX-restored onlay, overlay, and occlusal veneer 2 had the lower stress in the cracked area and the lower average von Mises stress levels at the lower margin along the cracked line, especially under the 225N lateral force (P < 0.05). The occlusal veneer 1 filled with resin had a poorer stress distribution and higher stress concentration of stress at the remaining crack than the occlusal veneer 2 without resin filled inside. Conclusions: The EMX restorations with onlay, overlay, and occlusal veneer 2 showed lower stress concentration at the lower margin of crack surface compared to the LU-restored models. The occlusal veneer with internal resin filler exhibited higher stress on the end of the lower margin of the crack surface. Clinical relevance: Our results suggest that onlay, overlay ceramic restorations and occlusal veneer (without resin filling inside) may be a favorable method to prevent further crack propagation. Aim: To assess the knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) towards unnecessary urinary catheterisation among nurses in Taicang City, China. Design: Cross‐sectional study. Methods: This study included nurses from our hospital and was conducted between February 2023 and June 2023. Data Sources: A self‐administered questionnaire was designed to collect their demographic characteristics and KAP. Results: A total of 233 valid questionnaires were collected. The mean KAP scores were 13.44 ± 1.62 (possible range: 0–17), 45.28 ± 3.87 (possible range: 10–50) and 43.85 ± 5.98 (possible range: 10–50), which indicated moderate knowledge, positive attitude and proactive practice, respectively. The Pearson's correlation analysis showed positive correlations between knowledge and attitude (r = 0.253, p < 0.001), knowledge and practice (r = 0.279, p < 0.001), as well as attitude and practice (r = 0.441, p < 0.001). Partial correlation analysis adjusted for age, gender, department, working experience and experience in treating patients with catheter‐associated urinary tract infections also showed positive correlations among KAP. A structural equation modelling showed that both knowledge (β = 0.501, p = 0.047) and attitude (β = 0.691, p < 0.001) had direct effect on practice. Conclusion: This study found moderate knowledge, positive attitude and proactive practice among the participants. Both knowledge and attitude might affect their practice. Impact: We wanted to know the knowledge, attitude and behaviour of nurses in Taicang City towards unnecessary catheterisation. Moderate knowledge, positive attitude and proactive practice were found among the participants. The findings would provide evidence for policymakers to develop targeted educational intervention to improve nurses' practice and might improve the outcomes of patients. In recent decades, China has observed increasing numbers of rural-urban migrant children seeking education in Chinese cities, resulting in pressure on urban schools to accommodate these children. Drawing on pre- and post-survey and interview data with 215 primary school teachers in a metropolitan city in East China, the objectives of this article are to describe teachers' perceptions of educational inclusion in both migrant and public schools, and to investigate changes in their beliefs from 2013 to 2016. Urban public school teachers indicated significant differences in perceptions compared with their first test, whereas no salient differences in perceptions was found among migrant school teachers. The qualitative analysis echoed the quantitative findings and provided further explanation for the complexity and particularity of these changes. Our study revealed that public schools have made great reforms in relation to educational inclusion for migrant students and that these initiatives in turn have produced changes on teachers' perceptions and practices with migrant children. It should be noted, however, that teachers attribute the changes in their perceptions to external factors rather than the internal ones. In the light of these findings, the article discusses implications for further professional development programs for teachers in Chinese migrant schools.

Disease recurrence perception plays a key role in disease management and subsequent disease recurrence prevention. However, there are no specific tools for assessing disease recurrence perception in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) characterized by alternating remission and recurrence. To develop and validate an instrument for measuring disease recurrence perception of patients with IBD, the study was conducted in two steps: (1) instrument development and (2) psychometric tests. A total of 623 patients with IBD participated in the study. The common sense model of illness self‐regulation (CSM) was used as a framework for instrument development. The administered version contained 48 items intended to be relevant to at least one of the six dimensions of the model. Based on preliminary analyzes, 12 items were deleted leaving 36 items for more detailed psychometric and factor analyzes. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the total 36‐item instrument was 0.915. The content validity indexes at item and scale levels were satisfactory. The test‐retest reliability of the total instrument was 0.870. Exploratory principal components analysis (n = 278) was used to identify six components congruent with intended CSM constructs that accounted for 62.6% of total item variance. Confirmatory factor analysis (n = 345) found acceptable fit for the six factor measurement model (χ2/df = 1.999, GFI = 0.846, NFI = 0.855, IFI = 0.922, TLI = 0.910, CFI = 0.921, RMSEA = 0.054). Overall, the DRPSIBD demonstrated satisfactory reliability and validity to warrant further development as a measure of disease recurrence perception of patients with IBD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this paper is to analyze a specific array of publicly accessible policy papers and literature necessary to provide a contextualized interpretation of segregation policies and their implications for the educational outcomes of migrant children in China. By teasing out its ramifications for education equity, this paper reveals the unanticipated current challenges resulting from educational inclusion for migrant children in urban China. The paper argues that although China's new migration reform policies are well-intentioned and appear rationally apposite at the macro level, migrant children are presently experiencing institutional forms of acute marginality and discrimination in inclusive schools. It is to be hoped that the information provided will serve to advance governmental and institutional understanding of the subtleties of inequity that have arisen from the current policy of Chinese urbanization. Given the insights evinced in our paper, it should be evident that achieving equity for migrant children under the present policy reforms governing their admission into integrated public schools requires more philosophical reflection than has yet been given.

This study explored subjective responses towards various environmental quality parameters. It would be helpful to approach an overall comfort improvement relating to physics. In order to investigate the combined effects of sound, light and heat on the overall comfort of pedestrians, which could be evaluated by overall comfort vote, two residential areas in Yubei District, Chongqing (a Cfa city in China) were selected for field measurements and questionnaires. Three were three key findings were concluded based on subjective responses to environmental parameters via multiple linear regression. First, the average outdoor neutral temperature, mean neutral sound level and neutral illumination intensity were determined to be 26.6 °C (determined by physiologically equivalent temperature), 56.5 dBA (determined by A-weighted equivalent continuous sound level) and 21.4 klx (determined by LUX), respectively. Second, considering the effects of both physiology and psychology, thermal perceptions varied for acoustic and light environments. Residents partially had lower neutral temperatures at the noisy condition. Third, environmental quality factors had a significant effect on overall comfort. Positive correlation between physiologically equivalent temperature and overall comfort vote was found (sig < 0.000); while the effects of sound pressure and light intensity were not always significant. Hence, thermal stress played a significant role in people's overall comfort. This study has explored the effects of three environment quality parameters on human perceptions. It provided better understanding against dwellers' feelings under complex circumstances. China's high-quality development cannot be achieved without high-quality research. As the university is an indispensable source of advanced research, analyzing the impact of university-industry collaboration (UIC) on firm performance helps us understand the significance of universities for China's economic development and innovation activities. As existing research does not pay attention to the impact of UIC on the productivity of Chinese firms, we examine the impact of such collaboration on firm productivity using natural language processing and by matching China's intellectual property and listed firms' operations databases. The empirical results show that UIC can promote firm productivity by improving the quality of their innovations, strengthening internalization efficiency, and broadening their research horizons. Moreover, the UIC process has a pronounced effect on promoting firm productivity in technology- and intellectual property-intensive industries. From the UIC perspective, we interpret China's economic development and provide new insights for developing countries regarding using universities to alleviate the insufficiency of private R&D investments. Green technology is the solution to address the dichotomy between environmental conservation and economic growth. How to stimulate the expansion of green technology innovation output is an essential agenda highlighted by firms, governments, and environmental non-governmental organizations. This research investigates the impact of stock liquidity on green technology innovation and its mechanism, using the data of listed new energy green firms in China from 2007 to 2019. The empirical findings reveal that the enhancement of stock liquidity considerably supports the green technology innovation of new energy firms. Whereas expanding R&D investment and decreasing financial risk are two economic mechanisms that stock liquidity promotes green technology innovation of new energy firms. In addition, our study demonstrates that both government subsidies and analyst attention may strengthen the impact of stock liquidity in supporting the green innovation output of new energy enterprises. Within a rapidly changing cultural and socio-economic context, young people in China are increasingly engaging in romantic experiences and sexual behaviours with consequences such as unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. Across a range of contexts, parental communication about sexuality has been recognised as protective in terms of increasing the likelihood of sexual abstinence and safer sexual practice. This study focuses on the factors shaping parent-adolescent communication about sexuality. Thirty-eight young people and twenty-seven parents, recruited from two high schools in a Northern-Eastern city of China, were interviewed. Thematic analysis of their interview responses was conducted using a social constructionist framework. Four main themes were identified: timing; discomfort and uncertainty; assumptions; and the parent-adolescent relationship. Findings suggest that communication between parents and children is influenced by individual as well as interpersonal factors and factors relating to the broader Chinese sociocultural context. To facilitate communication, both parents and young people need support from health and other professionals, while parents need more help and support in overcoming historical, social and cultural barriers to open communication about sex.

Objectives: Adolescents and young adults are the main target population for human papillomavirus (HPV). The study aimed to investigate school students' HPV vaccination intentions and explore the contributing factors from a socio‐ecological perspective. Design: A questionnaire survey was conducted in three secondary schools and three colleges in China. Sample: A total of 1756 students aged 14–22 years participated in this study. Among the 1756 participants, 182 students have received the HPV vaccine. For the remaining 1574 students, we analyzed their HPV vaccination intentions and the influencing factors. Measurements: Survey items for sociodemographics, knowledge and awareness of HPV, sexual intercourse and sexual knowledge, subjective socioeconomic status, self‐efficacy, eHealth literacy, perceived social support from family, and the availability of HPV vaccine information were measured. Results: Only 182 (10.4%) had received the HPV vaccine among the 1756 participants. Among the remaining 1574 students, the majority of the students (1403, 89.1%) were willing to receive the HPV vaccine. Binary logistic regression analysis showed that students who were female, had lower self‐efficacy, scored higher on sexual knowledge, believed vaccination preventing related diseases, worried about side effects after vaccination, thought oneself at risk of contracting HPV, had higher family support, knew the availability of the HPV vaccine in Mainland China from healthcare institutions, and with family residence in rural areas were more willing to receive the HPV vaccine. Conclusions: Students had high HPV vaccination intentions while had low vaccination rate. Intrapersonal, interpersonal and institutional or community factors predicted HPV vaccination intention. Public health nurses in communities and schools could target the modifiable factors to promote students' HPV vaccine uptake. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: This cross-sectional study investigates infection prevention and control (IPC) competencies among healthcare professionals in northwest China, examining the influence of demographic factors, job titles, education, work experience, and hospital levels. Methods: Data from 874 respondents across 47 hospitals were collected through surveys assessing 16 major IPC domains. Statistical analyses, including Mann-Whitney tests, were employed to compare competencies across variables. Results: Significant differences were identified based on gender, job titles, education, work experience, and hospital levels. Females demonstrated higher IPC competencies, while senior positions exhibited superior performance. Higher educational attainment and prolonged work experience positively correlated with enhanced competencies. Variances across hospital levels underscored context-specific competencies. Conclusion: Demographic factors and professional variables significantly shape IPC competencies. Tailored training, considering gender differences and job roles, is crucial. Higher education and prolonged work experience positively impact proficiency. Context-specific interventions are essential for diverse hospital settings, informing strategies to enhance IPC skills and mitigate healthcare-associated infections effectively. Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a common complication of pregnancy, with significant short-term and long-term implications for both mothers and their offspring. Previous studies have indicated the potential benefits of vitamin D in reducing the risk of GDM, yet little is known about this association in twin pregnancies. This study aimed to investigate maternal vitamin D status in the second trimester and examine its association with the risk of GDM in twin pregnancies. Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study based on data from the Chongqing Longitudinal Twin Study (LoTiS). Peripheral blood serum was collected from the mothers in the second trimester to measure 25(OH)D concentrations. GDM was diagnosed at 23–26 weeks of gestation using a 75-g 2-h oral glucose tolerance test. We used multivariable logistic regression analyses to examine the correlations between vitamin D status and the risk of GDM. Results: Of the total participants, 93 (29.9%) women were diagnosed with GDM. The mean serum 25(OH)D concentration in the second trimester was 31.1 ± 11.2 ng/mL, and the rate of vitamin D insufficiency and deficiency were 23.5% and 18.7%, respectively. Compared to women with a 25(OH)D concentration < 30 ng/mL, those with a 25(OH)D concentration ≥ 30 ng/mL had a significantly lower risk of GDM (RR 0.61; 95% CI: 0.43, 0.86), especially those who were overweight before pregnancy (RR 0.32; 95% CI: 0.16, 0.64). The restricted cubic splines model showed an inverted J-shaped relationship between vitamin D concentrations and GDM risk. Conclusions: The risk of GDM was significantly reduced in twin pregnant women with vitamin D concentrations ≥ 30 ng/mL in the second trimester. Trial registration: ChiCTR-OOC-16,008,203. Camellia oleifera, a key economic forestry species in southern China, struggles with low productivity due to suboptimal planting management. Recently, transforming old or unadopted varieties of C. oleifera plantations has been recognized as a means to enhance economic benefits and production. However, the impact of these transformations on soil properties and fungal communities has received little attention. In this study, we targeted pre-renewal old C. oleifera and post-renewal young C. oleifera, Pinus massoniana, and Cunninghamia lanceolata. Through field sampling and soil physicochemical property analysis, we developed a soil quality evaluation system that effectively analyzes fungal community structures and identifies key arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) species for soil health. We found that the soil quality evaluation system for this region comprises pH, TK, AK, NO3−, PO4− BG, ACP, F.simpson, AMF.shannon, and AMF.ace, which collectively indicated significant improvements in soil quality following transformation. Notably, the nutritional characteristics of the dominant fungal communities underwent marked changes, with an increase in pathogenic fungi in young C. oleifera and an expansion of ectomycorrhizal fungi in P. massoniana forests. The AMF communities in all four types of forest exhibited aggregation, and Scutellospora and Diversispora emerged as key species in the AMF community of C. oleifera. Additionally, Mortierella and Trichoderma were found to enhance plant resistance to pathogenic fungi. This study demonstrates that forestland transformation positively impacts soil quality and fungal community structure in C. oleifera, which provides valuable insights for future soil management in the region, both in terms of soil quality evaluation and fungal conservation. The improvement of water usage efficiency and productivity, as well as the development of effective water management plans, necessitates a comprehensive understanding of how water utilization patterns in different soil layers within arid and semi-arid climates impact the capacity of plant roots to absorb water. However, there is currently no knowledge regarding the water use strategies employed by artificial yellow willow. So, we conducted a study on the hydrogen and oxygen isotopic composition of rainfall in yellow willow (Salix gordejevii) from the semi-arid region located at the southern edge of the Hunshandak Sandland in China. This study utilized measured data on xylem water, groundwater, soil moisture, and rainfall. By employing a combination of the direct comparison method and the MixSIAR model, we investigated the water uptake strategies employed by yellow willow throughout its growing season. The findings revealed that the mean δ D was highest in precipitation and lowest in groundwater, whereas the mean δ18O was highest in stem water and lowest in groundwater. The δ D and δ18O fluctuated significantly in precipitation but were steady in groundwater. Because precipitation was significantly less than evaporation, the slope and intercept were lower for the local than global atmospheric precipitation line. Water availability steadily declined with increasing depth. Lower δ18O values were caused by precipitation diluting the soil water. The MixSIAR results indicated that the primary source in May, September, and October was utilized at 19%, 18%, and 18%, respectively. In contrast, the utilization rate of each source varied considerably in June, July, and August (the primary source was utilized at 19%, 18%, and 18%, respectively). Comparatively high rates of water absorption and utilization were observed in June (19% of the total water source), July (18%), and August (23%). Therefore, the vertical distribution of the root system and variations in the soil water content regulate water usage for the yellow willow. To prevent excessive water usage and promote ecosystem restoration with artificial yellow willow plantations in water-limited desert settings, policy makers should consider the patterns of plant water use and soil water availability. By selecting drought-adapted plant species and optimizing irrigation management, it is possible to reduce water wastage and ensure that water is used efficiently for revegetation and ecosystem restoration, avoiding overuse of water and maintaining the sustainability of revegetation in water-stressed desert areas. CO2 geological storage combined with deep saline water recovery technology (CO2-EWR) is one of the most effective ways to reduce carbon emissions. Due to the complex structural features, it is difficult to use CO2-EWR technology in Huaiyin Sag, Subei basin, East China. In this study, the multi-source information superposition evaluation technology of GIS was utilized for the selection of CO2 storage sites and water displacement potential target areas in this area, which mainly focused on the sandstone reservoirs of Cretaceous Pukou Formation. Based on the results, a three-dimensional injection–extraction model was established. Various scenarios with different production/injection well ratios (PIR) were simulated. Research has shown that the suitability of the surrounding site of Huaiyin Power Plant can be divided into two levels: relatively suitable and generally suitable; the area in the generally suitable level accounts for more than 80%. At a PIR of 1, CO2 is distributed asymmetrically, whereas at PIRs of 2 or 4, CO2 is distributed symmetrically. When the number of production wells is constant, a higher injection rate results in a faster expansion rate of the CO2 plume. This means that the time taken for the CO2 plume to reach the production wells is shorter. Reservoir pressure increases rapidly after more than 60 years of CO2 injection at lower PIR values, while at higher PIRs, reservoir pressure eventually stabilizes. Higher PIR values correspond to higher gas saturation, indicating a greater capacity for CO2 sequestration with more producing wells. When PIR = 4, the total CO2 injection increased by 55.73% compared to PIR = 1. However, the extraction of saline decreases with an increase in the number of producing wells, resulting in a decrease in replacement efficiency. Photovoltaics, a clean energy source, have received widespread attention worldwide recently. Many countries are carrying out photovoltaic construction, while also compiling and analyzing their photovoltaic development status. The same goes for China. In northwestern China, a considerable number of cities lack electricity. Meanwhile, its vast plains and abundant sunlight are conducive to the construction of photovoltaics. Therefore, the northwestern China has vigorously carried out photovoltaic construction nowadays. With the support of high-resolution and multi-temporal remote sensing images, we are able to analyze the development status of photovoltaics in these regions. We chose six provinces in northwestern China as our research areas and took three steps to complete our studies. Firstly, we extracted patterns of photovoltaics using deep learning methods. Secondly, based on the patterns and national land use survey data, we calculated the distribution and development status of photovoltaics in each province. Thirdly, we present the statistical results in figures and charts, showing the photovoltaic construction status and its development trend. As important green energy, wind power and photovoltaic power have great development prospects. The suitability evaluation of wind and solar power plants is a popular research field, which is related to the sustainable and healthy development of wind and solar power generation. In this paper, based on multiple dimensions such as land types, climatic conditions, topographic features and policy environment, we selected 10 indicators and combined (analytical hierarchy process) AHP method to build a suitability assessment model for evaluating the suitability of solar and wind power in Inner Mongolia, China. The findings revealed that, Inner Mongolia has a great potential to generate wind and solar electricity, for wind power, the category of 'excellent' regions covers 83855 km2 and represents 7.10% of the total surface area; for solar power, 7.66% (nearly 90420 km2) are classified as 'excellent'. The suitability of both solar and wind energy in the western region is considered to have the most suitable development region, parts of Alxa League and Bayannur City have great potential for combined wind and solar power generation. By two or more modes of transportation to connect with each other and complete the transport process, multimodal transport could significantly improve transport efficiency, reduce costs, while promote energy conservation and emission reduction, compared with the traditional single mode of transport. Therefore, the multimodal transport development reflects the level of national or regional economic development to some extent. In this study, multimodal transport potential index was built to evaluate the possibility of multimodal transport. Remote sensing images from satellites were used to extract roads, railway stations and airports. A method was proposed to derive the road-rail transport potential index and road-air transport potential index, and then for the analysis of multimodal transport potential in 36 cities. Results show that there is a big gap among 36 cities on the development potential of road-rail and road-air transport. Compared with the road-rail transport potential index, the distribution of road-air transport potential index is more consistent among and within the seven regions. Index values of megacity and super cities are much higher than type I and II big cities. Moreover, in the 36 cities, there is a positive correlation between the multimodal transport potential index and GDP. The research results could be used to quantitatively evaluate the development of transport infrastructure, consequently provide more solid and reliable basic information for the planning, design and scheme adjustment of multimodal transport, thus comprehensively improve the efficiency and quality of multimodal transport, serve the territorial spatial planning. Existing research shows that subnational corruption can be used to expound the ownership choices of foreign firms entering a new foreign market. Yet, most studies either overlook the evolution of foreign firms' ownership structure after entering the host market, or mainly focus on the national level. This study investigates how subnational corruption affects the conversion of Sino-foreign joint ventures (JVs) into wholly foreign-owned enterprises (WFOEs) in China. In a sample of Sino-foreign JVs operating in China between 1998 and 2007, we find that the relationship between subnational corruption and the conversion of foreign proprietorship of Sino-foreign JVs is U-shaped. Furthermore, the U-shaped relationship between subnational corruption and the conversion of foreign proprietorship of JV is stronger when the JV is in a higher degree of marketization, while it is weaker when the local partner is a state-owned enterprise (SOE) rather than a privately owned enterprise (POE). Plants of the Clematis genus are attractive ornamental plants due to their various flower colors and patterns, and they play an important role as ground cover plants in landscaping. However, the application of Clematis plants in landscaping in arid and semi-arid areas is limited. This study used five common wild Clematis species in Gansu Province as experimental materials, including Clematistangutica, Clematis glauca, Clematis intricata, Clematis nannophylla, and Clematis fruticosa. By simulating different intensities of drought stress with polyethylene glycol (PEG), the germination behavior of seeds and the physiological and biochemical responses of seedlings of these five species to drought stress were observed. The results showed that 15% PEG stress significantly inhibited the seed germination of the five species, which was also the drought threshold for seed germination of C. fruticosa. C. tangutica exhibited the strongest tolerance to drought stress in seed germination. Seedlings of the five Clematis plants showed different levels of tolerance to drought stress, mainly demonstrating higher tolerance to 10% and 20% concentrations of PEG stress, while a 30% concentration of PEG stress caused varying degrees of damage to the seedlings of the five Clematis species. PCA analysis indicated that seedlings of C. intricata and C. glauca had higher scores under drought stress. Background: With the natural cessation of estrogen, after menopause, women, especially those who are overweight, are at a high risk for cardiovascular disease. Diet control and adequate physical activity (PA) are recommended as the essence of promoting cardiovascular health for women after menopause. Objective: The aim of this study was to examine the effects of a theory-based educational program on health behaviors and cardiovascular health outcomes among overweight postmenopausal Chinese women compared with conventional didactic education. Methods: In this randomized controlled trial, 288 participants were randomly allocated to intervention (n = 144) or control (n = 144) groups. The control group received conventional didactic education. The intervention group received a 3-month theory-based educational program. Primary outcomes were PA and dietary behavior. Secondary outcomes included cardiovascular health knowledge, self-efficacy in PA and diet, and cardiovascular health outcomes. Data were collected at baseline (T0), 3 months (T1), 6 months (T2), and 12 months (T3). Results: The intervention group demonstrated significantly greater improvements in PA, dietary behavior, self-efficacy in PA and diet, and several cardiovascular health outcomes (body weight, body mass index, waist circumference, blood pressure, and Framingham risk score [body mass index]) at postintervention compared with the control group (all P s <.05). These significant effects maintained at T2, and the effects on self-efficacy in PA and diet also were maintained at T3. Conclusions: A theory-based educational program may be an effective strategy for improving PA, dietary behavior, self-efficacy in PA and diet, and several cardiovascular health outcomes for overweight postmenopausal Chinese women. Background: Despite the increasing incidence of aplastic anemia in China, few studies have explored its effect on the patients' quality of life from the perspective of these patients. In fact, patients with aplastic disorder live with the disease for a long time, and need to face a variety of difficult realities, including multiple disease symptoms and drug side effects, heavy burden of medical costs, difficulties in social reintegration, and negative emotional distress. Therefore, this study used descriptive qualitative research to explore the direct and rich quality-of-life experiences of patients with aplastic anemia. Methods: A total of 19 patients with aplastic anemia were recruited in this study using purposive sampling combined with maximum variation strategy. 5 of the patients with AA were from northern China, and the others were from southern China. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the conventional content analysis method. Results: This study yielded important information about the experiences of patients with aplastic anemia in China. The content analysis method finally identified 3 themes and 9 sub-themes, including: physical symptoms (declining physical capacity, treatment-related symptoms, changes in body image), psychological symptoms (mood changes related to the stage of the disease, change in self-image, growth resulting from the disease experience), social burden (decline in career development, perceived burden to the family, social stigma). Patients with AA from different regions didn't show much difference in quality of life. Conclusions: Aplastic anemia affects the physical, psychological, and social aspects of patients' lives. Therefore, health care providers need to consider the patients' physical response and psychological feelings to provide relevant medical guidance and multi-channel social support that would improve their confidence and quality of life. To investigate the physiological changes of serum homocysteine (Hcy) levels and to establish trimester-specific reference intervals of serum Hcy levels for Chinese pregnant women. According to the guideline of the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) C28-A3 document, 476 healthy women were recruited in West China Second University Hospital, Sichuan University from January 2021 to October 2021. Among them, 120 were non-pregnant, 118 were in the first trimester, 120 were in the second and 118 were in the third trimester of gestation. The enzymatic cycling method was performed to detect serum Hcy levels. Non-parametric percentiles (2.5th percentile and 97.5th percentile) were calculated to establish the reference intervals for non-pregnant women and pregnant women in different trimester of gestation. There was a significant statistical difference for serum Hcy levels between non-pregnant women and pregnant women (p < 0.05), and serum Hcy levels in the first, second, and third trimesters of gestation were statistically different (p < 0.05). The trimester-specific reference intervals of serum Hcy levels were 4.35 ∼ 10.16 μmol/L, 3.38 ∼ 8.60 μmol/L, and 3.75 ∼ 11.17 μmol/L for pregnant women in the first, second, and third trimester of gestation, respectively. Compared to non-pregnant women, serum Hcy levels physiologically decreased after pregnancy, and the physiological changes in serum Hcy levels during pregnancy were also found. Recently China has been undergoing an unprecedented urbanisation process which has resulted in millions of rural families living in urban areas. As part of a study of Chinese migrant children's educational experiences, surveys and interviews were conducted with primary school teachers in a metropolitan city in East China. The objectives of this study were to describe teachers' perceptions of migrant children's education in both migrant schools and in public schools, and to investigate differences in their beliefs between school types. Results found that urban teachers' perceptions of educational inclusion of migrant students were slightly negative in general. However, teachers in public schools showed significantly more positive attitudes to inclusion of migrant students than migrant school teachers. In the light of these findings, the paper concludes with implications for practice and policy for education of migrant children in China.

Leaf area index (LAI) stands as a pivotal parameter for the quantitative assessment of vegetation growth dynamics, and the rapid acquisition of the effective leaf area index (LAIe) in different scales is crucial for forest ecological monitoring. In this study, forest structure parameters were derived from fusion point cloud data obtained through Airborne Laser Scanning and Terrestrial Laser Scanning in three coniferous forests. The influence of point diameter on the extraction of different forest structure parameters was examined, and an in-depth analysis of the correlations between these parameters and measured LAIe was undertaken. The LAIe inversion model was constructed, and its performance for different forest types was studied. The results show that the precision of the extracted forest structure parameters was highest when the point diameter was set to 0.1 cm. Among the 10 forest structure parameters, internal canopy structures such as canopy openness (CO), gap fraction (GF) and canopy closure (CC) were significantly correlated with measured LAIe (p < 0.01), and the correlations between different forest types were significantly different. In addition, the multiparameter LAIe inversion model was able to distinguish forest type and thus better stimulate measured LAIe; also, it appeared closer to the 1:1 relationship line than the voxel model. This study made up for the inefficiency of LAIe measurement with optical instruments and the inaccuracy of passive remote sensing measurement and proved the possibility of LAIe extraction at a large scale via LiDAR in the future. Vegetation is one of the most important indicators of climate change, as it can show regional change in the environment. Vegetation health is affected by various factors, including drought, which has cumulative and time-lag effects on vegetation response. However, the cumulative and time-lag effects of drought on different terrestrial vegetation in China are still unclear. To address this issue, this study examined the cumulative and time-lag effects of drought on vegetation from 2001 to 2020 using the Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) in the Global SPEI database and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) in MOD13A3. Based on Sen-Median trend analysis and the Mann–Kendall test, the change trend and significance of the NDVI from 2001 to 2020 were explored. The Pearson correlation coefficient was used to analyze the correlation between the SPEI and NDVI at each cumulative scale and time-lag scale and to further analyze the cumulative and time-lag effects of drought on vegetation. The results show the following: (1) The NDVI value increased at a rate of 0.019/10 years, and the increased area of the NDVI accounted for 80.53% of mainland China, with a spatial trend of low values in the west and high values in the east. (2) The average SPEI cumulative time scale most relevant to the NDVI was 7.3 months, and the cumulative effect demonstrated a high correlation at the scale of 9–12 months and revealed different distributions in different areas. The cumulative effect was widely distributed at the 9-month scale, followed by the 12-month scale. The correlation coefficients of cumulative effects between the SPEI and NDVI for cropland, woodland and grassland peaked at 9 months. (3) The average SPEI time-lag scale for the NDVI was 6.9 months, and the time-lag effect had the highest correlation coefficient at the 7-month scale. The strongest time-lag effect for cropland and grassland was seen at 7 months, while the strongest time-lag effect for woodland was seen at 6 months. Woodland had a lower time-lag effect than grassland at different scales. As a win-win strategy, green innovation can balance environmental protection and economic benefits. Previous studies have mainly focused on the impact of formal institutions, such as ecological tax and environmental regulations, on green innovation, while the role of informal institutions has been largely overlooked. This study investigates whether social dishonesty is a crucial factor that inhibits corporate green innovation, using defaulted executors announced by the Supreme People's Court of China between 2013 and 2019 as a research sample. The findings indicate that social dishonesty significantly inhibits enterprises' green innovation, even after conducting robustness tests. Mechanistic tests reveal that social dishonesty impairs green innovation by exacerbating firms' financing constraints, increasing the cost of debt, and lowering their ESG scores. The study also shows that the negative impact of social dishonesty on enterprises' green innovation is more significant for non-state firms and those with irregularities, while non-negative media coverage and government environmental subsidies effectively mitigate this effect. Therefore, this study highlights the vital role of informal institutions in shaping firms' green innovation behavior, particularly in emerging markets and regions committed to green development. Sheep bones are a rich resource in China, but their deep processing is limited by outdated technology. Sausages are popular among various consumer groups due to their unique flavor. The purpose of this study was to optimize the preparation process of fermented-enzymatic sheep bone powder and develop calcium-fortified functional sausages with an excellent flavor, aroma, and taste. In this experiment, the fermented-enzymatic sheep bone powder was prepared by optimizing the two-bacterial fermentation process of Lactobacillus Plantarum BNCC336421 and Pediococcus Pentosaceus BNCC193259. The nutritional indexes and micro-structure were analyzed. Additionally, different ratios of fermented sheep bone powder were added into the sausages to investigate their effects on the nutritional indexes, physicochemical properties, and organoleptic quality of the sausages. The results showed that the optimal process conditions for the fermented sheep bone sludge were as follows: a strain inoculation of 3%; a compounding ratio of 1:1; a bone sludge concentration of 1:20; and fermentation time of 24 h. Under these conditions, the Ca2+ content and protein hydrolysis degree of the sheep bone were 2441.31 mg/100 mL and 23.78%, respectively. The fermented sheep bone powder analyzed using SEM, and the particle size analysis showed it was loose and porous with a small particle size. The addition of fermented sheep bone powder to the sausage increased its amino acid and calcium ion contents, improved the texture indexes such as cohesion, and enhanced both the L* value and sensory scores. The best result was observed in the 1% group (p < 0.05). It serves as a data source for developing fermented sheep bone powder and its application in sausage, offering a fresh idea and approach to achieving the high-value utilization of sheep bone. The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of stroke rate and sex on trunk and shoulder kinematics of Olympic athletes during rowing on an ergometer. Fifty-eight participants (31 females and 27 males) from the Chinese National Rowing Team were recruited. Trunk (i.e., the pelvis, lumbar and thoracic spine) and shoulder kinematics were measured using an inertial measurement unit system for three stroke rates (18, 26, and 32 strokes/min). Range of motion and angles at the catch and finish were assessed using mixed model ANOVA and correlation analyses with rowing power. Range of motion increased significantly at higher rates for both female and male athletes. This may be a strategy used by athletes when dealing with higher demand for power during training, because a greater range of motion with a longer stroke length could reduce the demand for force generation and possibly delay fatigue. Female rowers exhibited greater range of motion in the lumbar spine, thorax and shoulders than males due to more extended positions at the finish. The sex-related kinematic differences may be attributed to differences in body size, muscle strength and endurance. Limitations in the current capability of monitoring PM2.5 adversely impact air quality management and health risk assessment of PM2.5 exposure. Commonly, ground-based monitoring networks are established to measure the PM2.5 concentrations in highly populated regions and protected areas such as national parks, yet large gaps exist in spatial coverage. Satellite-derived aerosol optical properties serve to complement the missing spatial information of ground-based monitoring networks. However, satellite remote sensing AODs are hampered under cloudy/hazy conditions or during nighttime. Here we strive to overcome the long-standing restriction that surface PM2.5 cannot be obtained with satellite remote sensing under cloudy/hazy conditions or during nighttime. In this work, we introduce a deep spatiotemporal neural network (ST-NN) and demonstrate that it can artfully fill these observational gaps. We quantified the quantitative impact of input variables on the results using sensitivity and visual analysis of the model. This technique provides ground-level PM2.5 concentrations with a high spatial resolution (0.01°) and 24-h temporal coverage, hour-by-hour, complete coverage. In central and eastern China, the 10-fold cross-validation results show that R2 is between 0.8 and 0.9, and RMSE is between 6 and 26 (µg m−3). The relative error varies in different concentration ranges and is generally less than 20%. Better constrained spatiotemporal distributions of PM2.5 concentrations will contribute to improving health effects studies, atmospheric emission estimates, and air quality predictions. Simple Summary: Consumers have expressed concern regarding the food safety of aquatic products in light of escalating global environmental pollution. The potential accumulation of heavy metals in red swamp crayfish, an omnivorous aquatic species, may present a significant risk to human health. Hence, a comprehensive multi-point sampling was carried out in Qianjiang, the foremost export city in China, followed by a meticulous risk evaluation of the red swamp crayfish originating from Qianjiang. In the study, we found eight significant interaction relationships that may be utilized to construct predictive models for the spatial distribution of heavy metals in crayfish tissue. The findings indicate that the abdomen muscle of crayfish does not present any discernible risk to human well-being. However, a minute fraction of crayfish hepatopancreas samples exhibited excessive levels of arsenic, rendering it inadvisable for excessive consumption. Due to rapidly expanding crayfish consumption worldwide, the food safety of red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) is of great concern. China is the largest consumer and producer of crayfish globally. As of yet, it is unknown whether the main crayfish production cities in China are within safe levels of toxic heavy metals and metalloids. For 16 consecutive years, Qianjiang city ranked first in China in processing export volumes of red swamp crayfish. This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the enrichment levels and associated health risks of the species in Qianjiang. In our research, samples of four crayfish tissues, including the head, hepatopancreas, gills, and muscles, were collected from 38 sampling sites distributed in Qianjiang to evaluate the concentration levels of five heavy metals (Pb, Hg, Cd, As, and Cu). The concentration levels of all five metals in muscle did not surpass the national standard. Furthermore, eight significant correlations have been found. For further in-depth assess risk of crayfish in Qianjiang, estimated daily intake (EDI), target hazard quotient (THQ), carcinogenic risk (CR), and estimated maximum allowable consumption rates (CRmm) were evaluated in the abdomen muscle and hepatopancreas. The THQ values for each metal were found to be less than 1, while the CR values were below 10–6. Additionally, the CRmm for adults was determined to be 17.2 meals per month. These findings, based on the analysis of five metallic elements included in this study, suggest that the consumption of crayfish abdomen muscle in Qianjiang does not pose any significant health risks. However, it is noteworthy that certain regions exhibit elevated levels of arsenic in the hepatopancreas, surpassing the national standard, thereby rendering them unsuitable for excessive consumption. COVID-19 has undergone several mutations and is still spreading in most countries now. PA has positive benefits in the prevention of COVID-19 infection and counteracting the negative physical and mental effects caused by COVID-19. However, relevant evidence has indicated a high prevalence of physical inactivity among the general population, which has worsened due to the outbreak of the pandemic, and there is a severe lack of exercise guidance and mitigation strategies to advance the knowledge and role of PA to improve physical and mental health in most countries during the epidemic. This study surveyed the effects of COVID-19 on PA in Chinese residents during the pandemic and provided important reference and evidence to inform policymakers and formulate policies and planning for health promotion and strengthening residents' PA during periods of public health emergencies. ANOVA, Kolmogorov–Smirnov, the chi-square test and Spearman correlation analysis were used for statistical analysis. A total of 14,715 participants were included. The results show that nearly 70% of Chinese residents had inadequate PA (95%CI 58.0%–82.19%) during the COVID-19 outbreak, which was more than double the global level (27.5%, 95%CI 25.0%–32.2%). The content, intensity, duration, and frequency of PA were all affected during the period of home isolation, and the types of PA may vary among different ages. The lack of physical facilities and cultural environment is the main factor affecting PA. However, there was no significant correlation between insufficient PA and the infection rate. During the period of home isolation and social distance of epidemic prevention, it is necessary to strengthen the scientific remote network monitoring and guidance for the process of PA in China. As a highly resistant urban ornamental plant, Elaeagnus angustifolia L. is often used in dry land, saline-alkali land shelter forest, and landscape horticulture. It is the main windbreak and sand-fixing tree species in Gansu Province, China. The special geographical and climatic environment makes the distribution and growth of E. angustifolia in Gansu Province show different degrees of difference. In order to evaluate the phenotypic diversity of E. angustifolia in different populations and its variation patterns under different geographical and climatic conditions, 35 phenotypic traits (trunk, branch, leaf, and flower related traits) of 90 plants from 10 populations in Gansu Province were measured and analyzed. The results showed the following: (1) E. angustifolia has rich phenotypic variation. The variation is greater among populations. The traits with the largest and smallest coefficients of variation were "under-branch height" and "flower diameter", respectively. The variation in the Qilihe population was the largest, and the variation in the Ganzhou population was the smallest. The diversity of flowers and leaves is relatively higher. (2) Correlation analysis showed that most of traits were closely related. Leaf traits showed a gradient variation law dominated by altitude and precipitation. Flower traits were affected by the synergistic effects of various geographical and climatic factors. (3) The results of the principal component analysis (PCA) showed that the primary traits affecting the phenotypic diversity of E. angustifolia were leaf size and branch length among the related traits of trunk, branch, leaf, and flower. (4) Cluster analysis showed that 90 E. angustifolia plants were clustered into four clusters that were not completely clustered according to geographical distance and may be randomly affected by genotypic or environmental factors. These results will lay a foundation for further analysis of the genetic mechanism of phenotypic traits of E. angustifolia and also provide a reference for the collection, preservation, and variety improvement of E. angustifolia germplasm resources. To understand the characteristics, temporal and spatial variation, and health risks of atmospheric heavy metal pollution in different areas of the YRD (Yellow River Delta), atmospheric particles samples were collected in the YRD in China during 2016–2017. A total of 10 monitoring points were chosen in different areas (industrial parks, main urban areas, and rural areas) in the YRD, heavy metals were monitored using atomic fluorescence spectrometry and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. The results showed that TSP (total suspended particulate), PM10 (particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than 10 μm), and PM2.5 (particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than 2.5 μm) contents were higher in the Kenli EDZ (economic development zone) and Kenli urban areas than those in other points. The concentration range of heavy metals in atmospheric samples at 10 points was different, with a difference of five orders of magnitude, of which the content of copper (Cu) was the highest, with the highest concentration of 4.375 μg/m3, and the content of particulate mercury (Hg) was the lowest, with the minimum concentration of 0.00001 μg/m3. Among the nine heavy metals, the contents of cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), and Hg were higher in winter than in summer, and chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), Cu, and manganese (Mn) were higher in summer than in winter. In addition to Hg, the contents of the other eight heavy metals in particulate matter showed a trend that urban areas and EDZs had higher concentrations than cities and towns and nature reserves, which can be attributed to industrial activities and coal-fired fuel emissions. Health risk assessment was carried out for adults and children, respectively, and the results showed that carcinogens have no obvious carcinogenic risk, but As and Cr have major potential carcinogenic risk. Among the noncarcinogenic substances, Mn has the greatest noncarcinogenic risk, and urban areas and economic development zones have the greatest risk. This study investigated the characteristics and health risk assessment of atmospheric heavy metal pollution in different areas in the YRD to supplement the research contents of atmospheric particulate heavy metals in the YRD in domestics and overseas. Objectives: Nepenthes belongs to the monotypic family Nepenthaceae, one of the largest carnivorous plant families. Nepenthes species show impressive adaptive radiation and suffer from being overexploited in nature. Nepenthes mirabilis is the most widely distributed species and the only Nepenthes species that is naturally distributed within China. Herein, we reported the genome and transcriptome assemblies of N. mirabilis. The assemblies will be useful resources for comparative genomics, to understand the adaptation and conservation of carnivorous species. Data description: This work produced ~ 139.5 Gb N. mirabilis whole genome sequencing reads using leaf tissues, and ~ 21.7 Gb and ~ 27.9 Gb of raw RNA-seq reads for its leaves and flowers, respectively. Transcriptome assembly obtained 339,802 transcripts, in which 79,758 open reading frames (ORFs) were identified. Function analysis indicated that these ORFs were mainly associated with proteolysis and DNA integration. The assembled genome was 691,409,685 bp with 159,555 contigs/scaffolds and an N50 of 10,307 bp. The BUSCO assessment of the assembled genome and transcriptome indicated 91.1% and 93.7% completeness, respectively. A total of 42,961 genes were predicted in the genome identified, coding for 45,461 proteins. The predicted genes were annotated using multiple databases, facilitating future functional analyses of them. This is the first genome report on the Nepenthaceae family. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Determine the association of lean body mass (LBM) on the incidence and severity of peripheral neurotoxicity in cancer patients who received nab-paclitaxel alone or combined with cisplatin or carboplatin. This prospective clinical study examined 32 cancer patients classified into a sarcopenia or non-sarcopenia group according to the Asian L3 vertebra skeletal muscle index (L3-SMI) at Ordos Central Hospital (China) from December 2020–2021, to compare the incidence and severity of neurotoxicity and analizing the relationship between nab-paclitaxel dose per kg LBM and neurotoxicity. There were 18 patients (56.25%) in the sarcopenia group and 14 (43.75%) in the non-sarcopenia group. The incidences of peripheral and severe neurotoxicity were higher in the sarcopenia group (both P < 0.05). Patients in three different body surface area (BSA) groups received the same nab-paclitaxel dose (260 mg/m2 BSA). However, when patients were divided into three groups according to LBM, they received different doses (low-LBM: 15.18 mg/kg LBM, middle-LBM: 12.82 mg/kg LBM, and high-LBM: 11.14 mg/kg LBM). The incidence of grade-C or higher neurotoxicity of these three groups was 61.54% (8/13), 20.00% (1/5), and 11.11% (1/9). Sarcopenia and a higher dose of nab-paclitaxel per kg LBM were associated with peripheral and severe neurotoxicity. As the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is widely used in all walks of life, the signal structure of satellite navigation is open, and the vulnerability to spoofing attacks is also becoming increasingly prominent, which will seriously affect the credibility of navigation, positioning, and timing (PNT) services. Satellite navigation signal authentication technology is an emerging technical means of improving civil signal anti-spoofing on the satellite navigation system side, and it is also an important development direction and research focus of the GNSS. China plans to carry out the design and development of the next-generation Beidou navigation satellite system (BDS), and one of its core goals is to provide more secure and credible PNT services. This paper first expounds on the principles and technical architecture of satellite navigation signal authentication, then clarifies the development history of satellite navigation signal authentication, and finally proposes the BDS authentication service system architecture. The imbalance of inorganic nutrients in micro-polluted source water poses a huge threat to aquatic environments and human health. To pretreat micro-polluted source water, some biological reactors have been conducted at lab-scale. However, using phototrophic biofilms to pretreat micro-polluted source water at pilot-scale has yet to be explored, and the effects of light on the practical operation of phototrophic biofilms are poorly understood. In this study, the potential of pretreating micro-polluted source water by phototrophic biofilms was explored. The high light intensity (4500 lx, 60.75 μmol/m2/s) promoted the growth of phototrophic biofilms and the secretion of extracellular polymeric substance. The removal efficiency of inorganic nitrogen and total phosphorus in synthetic micro-polluted water was 56.82% and 40.90%, respectively. When interacting with actual micro-polluted source water, the nutrients in the actual micro-polluted source water were reduced by the stable pilot-scale phototrophic biofilms. The final concentration of effluent nutrients was lower than the Grade II surface water quality standard in China. Therefore, using phototrophic biofilms as a pretreatment facility in water treatment plants is a promising solution to this issue. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Fuchuan ophiolite is located in the northeasternmost segment of the Neoproterozoic Jiangnan orogen and consists mainly of harzburgites, with minor dunites, pyroxenite and gabbro veins and dykes. In order to investigate the genesis and tectonic setting of the Fuchuan ophiolite and chromitites, in situ analyses of unaltered chromites and silicates were carried out. Trace element analyses of unaltered chromites from the Fuchuan chromitites indicate the parental magma is of mid‐ocean ridge basalt (MORB)‐like origin, with the Ti/Fe3+#–Ga/Fe3+# diagram of chromites showing that the chromitites are a result of melt/rock interaction of MORB melts with mantle peridotites, and that the Fuchuan harzburgites present the dual features of MORB and supra‐subduction zone peridotites (SSZP). Trace and rare earth element (REE) analyses of olivines and orthopyroxenes from the Fuchuan harzburgites hint at the possibility of mantle metasomatism influenced by SSZ‐subducted fluids. Finally, integrating with previous study, the Fuchuan ophiolite and chromitites might have been formed in a back‐arc spreading ridge between the Yangtze and Cathaysia blocks during the Neoproterozoic. Objectives To identify genetic variants and polygenic risk score (PRS) relating to female gout and asymptomatic hyperuricaemia (AH) in a genome-wide association study (GWAS). Methods Gout, AH and normouricemia controls were included from Taiwan biobank and China Medical University Hospital. All participants were divided into discovery and replication cohorts for GWAS. PRS was estimated according to whether the variant exhibited a protective effect on the phenotypes or not. Each cohort was separated into two groups by the age of 50 years old. Results A total of 59 472 females were enrolled, and gout and AH occupied 1.60% and 19.59%, respectively. Six variants located in genes SLC2A9 , C5orf22 , CNTNAP2 and GLRX5 were significantly predictors of female gout in those aged ≥50. For those aged <50 years old, only the variant rs147750368 (SPANXN1) on chromosome X was found. Most variants located in genes SLC2A9 , ZNF518B , PKD2 and ABCG2 were found to be significantly related to AH in both age groups. The PRS could explain ∼0.59% to 0.89% of variance of gout in variants with protective effects, which showed 6.2 times of mean PRS in the risk variants, but only 1.2 times in the AH phenotype. Moreover, the PRS also revealed a dose-response trend between AH rates and quartile scores. Conclusion The variants in gene SLC2A9 are the major genetic factors for females associated with gout in those aged ≥50. PRS can provide a more robust prediction of the gout/AH under a homogeneous selection of variants that show effects on the traits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: The aim of this study was to explore the mediating role of perceived social support in the association between perceived stress and job burnout in midwives. Design: A descriptive, cross‐sectional online survey. Methods: Using the stratified cluster sampling method, 329 midwives in 20 hospitals in China were selected as the participants. They completed self‐report assessment measures of job burnout, perceived stress and perceived social support. Results: 63.5% of the participants had job burnout. Perceived stress was negatively associated with social support (r = −.350, p <.01), while it was positively associated with job burnout (r = −.382, p <.01). Social support was negatively correlated with job burnout (r = −.569, p <.01). The total effect of perceived stress on job burnout was 0.474 (95% CI: 0.367 ~ 0.596, p <.01), the direct effect was 0.242 (95% CI: 0.142 ~ 0.355, p <.01), and the indirect effect was 0.232 (95% CI: 0.160 ~ 0.316, p <.01). The process of rapid urbanization in China has led to various impacts on the urban ecological environment and one of these significant effects is the urban heat island (UHI). Pursuing the construction of a ecological city is recognized as an important direction to relieve the contradictions between environmental protection and city development. Yet how the landcape configuation and composition in such city development influences the UHI has not been well understood. This paper attempted to evaluate the spatial patterning of land surface temperature (LST) and to discuss the effects of source and sink landscape patterns upon LST in a smart city demonstrated at the local level in China. The results revealed that the UHI was spatially associated with the land use changes driven by rapid urbanization and gradually declines along the urban–rural gradient. When the urban–rural gradient reached the range of 7.5 to 8.75 km from the city center, there exhibited a tipping point where the combinative effects of source and sink landscapes on UHI significantly decreased. Through exploring the impact of source-sink landscape area ratio on UHI, we also found a tipping point that when source-sink area ratio in a patch was smaller than the golden separation value (1.30), UHI effect was almost mitigated because the warming effect of source area would be weaker than the cooling effect of sink area. Overall, this study highlights that controlling the optimal area ratio of source-sink landscape are very important strategy for mitigating the UHI effect during urban development and planning. Background: This study aims to develop nomogram models based on the speed of sound (SOS) measurements results along with demographic information to predict the risk of low bone strength (LBS) of radius appropriate to the Chinese population of a broad age spectrum. Methods: A population-based cross-sectional study was conducted in 5 outpatient clinics located in Zhejiang, the southern part of China. A total of 38,699 participants from 2013 to 2017 were included. Baseline measurements included SOS of the distal radius and clinical risk factor evaluation. Logistic regression models were used to evaluate prognosis and identify independent predictive factors, which were then utilized to establish nomograms for predicting the low bone strength of radius. The discrimination and calibration of nomograms were validated using the calibration plots, the decision curve analysis (DCA), and the receiver operating characteristics curve (ROC). Results: A total of 19,845 of the 38,904 participants ranged in age from 10 to 88 years were selected in this process. LBP nomogram model 1 was constructed based on age, weight, height, BMI, and gender. LBP nomogram model 2 was constructed based on age, height, BMI, and gender. The AUCs for model 1 and model 2 were 0.838 (95% CI: 0.832–0.844) and 0.837 (95% CI: 0.831–0.843), respectively. High-quality calibration plots and DCA in nomogram models were noticed, indicated that the constructed nomogram models were clinically useful. Conclusions: Our study demonstrates that the nomograms established in this study could effectively evaluate the high-risk population groups of distal radius fracture in China. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the era of precision medicine, with the deepening of the research on malignant tumor driving genes, clinical oncology has fully entered the era of targeted therapy. For non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the development of targeted drugs targeting driver genes, such as epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), has successfully opened up a new model of targeted therapy. At present, proto-oncogene rearranged during transfection (RET) fusion gene is an important novel oncogenic driving target, and specific receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) targeting RET fusion have been approved. This article will review the latest research about the molecular characteristics, pathogenesis, detection, and clinical treatment strategies of RET rearrangements especially in China.
