Abstract: This article presents an investigation into the theory of territory of information in Chinese. As early as 1994, Kamio proposed a pragmatic theory of territory of information. Kamio claims that the theory is valid not only for Japanese but also for English . The locus of this theory is the notion of territory, which is familiar from studies of animal behavior. In the present study, a questionnaire was used to inquire into subjects’ understanding of first-hand and second-hand information. In addition, twelve Written Discourse Completion Tasks (WDCTs), which represent a method for inter-language pragmatic assessment in the area of language testing, were used (). The subjects in this study were sixty first-year students who were pursuing two different non-English majors at a university in Mainland China. The data show that, although the notion of territory in terms of first-hand and second-hand information was acquired by the students to a certain extent, some of the forms they used in handling these two types of information are distinct from those used in English as Kamio specifies. The present study posits that the theory of territory of information is valid in Chinese; however, some modifications must be made to Kamio''s formulation of the theory regarding the patterns of occurrence of psychological utterances and the conditions for assessing the directness of information. The study was designed to examine the effects of polydatin on ventricular remodeling induced by isoproterenol in mice and by abdominal aortic banding in rats. Polydatin reduced cardiac weight indexes in mice and rats, lowered the contents of cyclic AMP and angiotensin II in mice. It also decreased the size of cardiomyocyte, the levels of aldosterone, tumor necrosis factor-α, angiotensin II and endothelin-1, reduced ventricular collagen volume and decreased blood pressure in rats. The results demonstrate that polydatin has the beneficial effects on attenuating ventricular remodeling, which are associated with its inhibiting the activation of neurohormone, especially in rennin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. In order to study the impact of the "carbon peak and neutrality" mode on future power generation and the environment in China, a Verhulst gray model was established to predict the development of the power generation industry from 2021 to 2060 under the non-"carbon peak and neutrality" mode. In addition, based on the "China 2030 Energy and Power Development Planning Research and 2060 Outlook Report," the development of the power generation industry from 2021 to 2060 under the "carbon peak and neutrality" mode was obtained, and the development scenarios of the future power generation industry in China under two models were compared and studied. The emission factors and emission reduction factors of CO 2 , SO 2 , NO x , PM, PM 10 , and PM 2.5 were constructed through the conservation of elements and the generating performance standard, and then four environmental benefits A 1 - A 4 were defined. The results showed that the installed capacity of thermal power will reach the carbon peak in 2026 under the "carbon peak and neutrality" mode. To achieve the carbon neutralization, the installed capacity of thermal power will be reduced by an average of 28 million kilowatts per year after 2026, and the installed capacity of renewable energy generated is required to increase by 154 million kilowatts per year after 2020. Compared with that in the non-"carbon peak and neutrality" mode, the installed capacity of thermal power generation will be greatly reduced, and the installed capacity of renewable energy power generation will be greatly increased under the "carbon peak and neutrality" mode, resulting in huge A 1 and A 2 environmental benefits. In the next four decades, the cumulative emission reductions in CO 2 , SO 2 , NO x , PM, PM 10 , and PM 2.5 thermal power generation A 1 are predicted to be 6.64×10 10 tons, 1.54×10 7 tons, 1.55×10 7 tons, 3.18×10 6 tons, 1.71×10 6 tons, and 2.23×10 5 tons, respectively. The cumulative emission reductions of renewable energy power generation A 2 will be 5.77×10 10 tons, 1.64×10 7 tons, 1.42×10 7 tons, 2.86×10 6 tons, 1.54×10 6 tons, and 2×10 5 t tons, respectively. Under the "carbon peak and neutrality" mode, compared with those from coal-fired power generation, the environmental benefits A 3 and A 4 produced by the relative cleanliness of renewable energy and nuclear power indicated that the cumulative emission reductions ( A 3 + A 4 ) in clean energy power generation of CO 2 , SO 2 , NO x , PM, PM 10 , and PM 2.5 in the next four decades will be 3.014×10 11 tons, 7.292×10 7 tons, 7.119×10 7 tons, 1.454×10 7 tons, 7.827×10 6 tons, and 1.018×10 6 tons, respectively.

In recent years, fine particulate matter(PM 2.5 ) and ozone(O 3 ) have become the main air pollutants in cities in China. Volatile organic compounds(VOCs) are one of the important precursors of PM 2.5 , O 3 , and secondary organic aerosols. The establishment of VOCs emission inventory is therefore of great significance for controlling the amount of PM 2.5 and O 3 . To date, the coefficient method has been used, which has error transmission of activity level, parameter and model, leading to the uncertainty of emission inventory. Multivariate uncertainty quantitative analysis of VOCs emission inventory provides an accurate alternative which has not been reported in China. The bottom-up method is adopted to collect the activity level of each enterprise. The variables of pollution control measures are obtained from surveys conducted with enterprises. The VOCs emission inventory of Qingdao from industrial source is established using an optimized coefficient method. The uncertainty of the VOCs inventory on the impact of univariate and multivariate variables is simulated by combining the Monte Carlo method(MC) with Latin hypercube sampling method(LHS). The results show that the total VOCs emissions were 44700 tons from industrial sources in 2019(unoptimized coefficient method:31100 tons).The rubber and plastic industries, metal products, and oil/coal/other fuel processing contributed more VOCs, which accounted for 40.26% of the total emissions. The uncertainty of multivariate simulation is higher than that of single variable. The uncertainty from process(-9.72%-230.51%) and solvent using source(-14.14%-122.77%) is significantly higher than uncertainty from combustion source(-15.62%-36.41%). The main sectors affecting the uncertainty of the VOCs inventory include:the chemical, papermaking, and textile industries(emission factors); metal, automobile manufacturing, and chemical industries(removal rate, facility operating rate); industries of petroleum processing and ferrous metal smelting(too few samples). VOCs emissions are mainly distributed in the east of the West Coast New district, north of Dazhu Mountain, south of Jimo district, north of Chengyang district, northeast of Jiaozhou district, built-up area of Pingdu district, and southeast of Laixi district.

Surface soils were collected from five types of land use in the northern plain of Longkou City and the contents of five heavy metals (Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd, and As) were determined. Based on results from preliminary studies on heavy metal pollution of soil, the potential ecological risks caused by heavy metals in the soil and risks to human health were evaluated using the Hakanson potential ecological risk assessment model after adjusting the evaluation threshold and the health assessment model after modifying parameters. The results show that the contents of five heavy metals in the study area exceed the background value, the potential ecological risk of Cd is high and complex, in irrigated land, orchard land, and bare land it is mostly the second-class risk, and urban industrial land and mining land are dominated by severe risk. The element As is equivalent to the first two levels of each land class; the minor risk areas of the other three types of heavy metals are larger than 70%. The comprehensive ecological risk of the five elements is higher than the three-level risk in the field, except for the bare ground. The area of four-level risk of urban industrial land and mining land is relatively large. The five types of soil heavy metals in this area present noncarcinogenic and carcinogenic risks to human health. The element Pb and heavy metal As, both entering the body by oral intake, pose a noncarcinogenic and carcinogenic risk to adults and children, respectively.

Objective: To compare the therapeutic effect of acupuncture plus moxibustion and simple acupuncture in the treatment of patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) of yang -deficiency syndrome., Methods: Fifty-eight KOA patients with yang-deficiency syndrome were chosen and randomly divided into acupuncture plus moxibustion group ( n ＝30) and acupuncture group ( n ＝28). Neixiyan (EX-LE 4), Dubi (ST 35), Liangqiu (ST 34), Heding (EX-LE 2), Xuehai (SP 10), Yanglingquan (GB 34) on the affected side of the body were punctured with filiform needles or/and stimulated with moxibustion using seed-sized moxa cones. The treatment was conducted once daily for 10 days, followed with another 10 days after 2 days interval. The pain severity was evaluated by using visual analogue scale (VAS), and the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) scores were used to measure the KOA pain, stiffness and function before and after the treatment, and 1 month after the treatment. The therapeutic effect was also evaluated according to the "Standards for Diagnosis and Therapeutic Effect Evaluation of Diseases/Syndromes of Traditional Chinese Medicine" (issued by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of China in 1994)., Results: Twenty days and 1 month after the treatment, the scores of VAS, and KOA pain, stiffness and motor function of WOMAC were significantly decreased in both groups in comparison with their own pre-treatment ( P <0.01), and were obviously lower in the acupuncture plus moxibustion group than in the acupuncture group ( P <0.05, P <0.01). Of the 28 and 30 cases in the acupuncture and acupuncture plus moxibustion groups, 7 and 12 experienced marked improvement, 12 and 16 were effective, 9 and 2 ineffective, with the therapeutic effect being 67.86% and 93.33%, respectively. The therapeutic effect of acupuncture plus moxibustion was apparently superior to that of simple acupuncture ( P <0.05)., Conclusion: Acupuncture plus moxibustion is significantly superior to simple acupuncture therapy in relieving symptoms of KOA patients, and also has a better post-effect.

Sogatella furcifera (Horváth) is the most threatening migratory rice pest in Yunnan, China. S. furcifera overwinters in low- altitude basins and valleys in southern Yunnan and migrates northward in spring and summer of the following year, causing serious damage during migration. The overwintering distribution, areas, and spatial pattern of S. furcifera are relevant to the migration and outbreak of this pest. Based on a 4-yr field survey (2010-2013), this study projected areas suitable for S. furcifera to overwinter using a species distribution model, and analyzed the key influencing climatic factors using principal component analysis (PCA) and ecological niche factor analysis (ENFA). Our field survey showed that the northern latitudinal- and upper elevation limits of overwintering S. furcifera was 25.4° N and 1,608 m in western Yunnan and 24.2° N and 1,563 m in eastern Yunnan. The species distribution model produced a fragmented distribution pattern, with most of which in western Yunnan and only a few in eastern Yunnan. The PCA and ENFA analyses showed that the mean temperature of the driest quarter and the precipitation of the coldest quarter significantly influenced the distribution of S. furcifera in winter. The results suggested that the complex topography, spatial differences in winter temperatures, and host availability altogether determined the distribution of overwintering S. furcifera. Compared with previous surveys, the northern latitudinal- and upper elevation limits of overwintering S. furcifera were higher, while the population became rarer in some suitable areas due to change of farmland utilization in winter and possibly climate change., (© The Author 2015. Objective: To evaluate the characteristics of sensory gating inhibition and variation of schizophrenia with both prepulse inhibition (PPI) and P50., Methods: The PPI of startle reflex and P50 were tested by an event-related potential (ERP) recorder in 82 first episode schizophrenics (FES) recruited from September 2007 to February 2014 at Shanghai Mental Health Hospital and 78 healthy controls (NC) from hospital staffs and local residents for the same period. All patients fulfilled the evaluation of PPI with strong stimulus alone and strong + weak stimulus paradigm, P50 with conditioning (S1)-testing (S2) paradigm. The psychotic symptoms were assessed with Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS)., Results: (1) Compared with control group, schizophrenia group had increased P(L) (NC: (89 ± 14) ms, FES: (97 ± 17) ms, P < 0.05) and PPL, decreased amplitude (NC: (92 ± 21) ms, (24 ± 14) µV, FSZ: (96 ± 20) ms, (41 ± 29) µV, P < 0.05, 0.01), lower PPI inhibition ratio (NC: (67 ± 32)%, FSZ: (41 ± 37)%, P < 0.05). (2) Compared with NC group, there were increased S2 amplitude [NC: (3 ± 2) µV vs FES: (5 ± 3) µV, P < 0.05] and ratio of S2/S1 amplitude [(43 ± 22) % vs (82 ± 41)%, P < 0.05] in schizophrenia group. And P50 inhibition decreased significantly., Conclusion: Schizophrenics have both PPI and P50 impairments. And a combination of PPI inhibition ratio and S2/S1 (P50) may be a better electrocerebrophysiological index for schizophrenia.

Objective: To investigate the prevalence and causes of blindness and moderate and severe visual impairment among adults aged ≥ 50 years in Longyao County, Hebei Province, China., Methods: It was a population-based cross-section study.Geographically defined cluster sampling was used in randomly selecting 5527 individuals aged ≥ 50 years in Longyao County. The survey was preceded by a pilot study where operational methods were refined and quality assurance evaluation was carried out. All participants were enumerated through village registers followed door-to-door visits.Eligible individuals were invited to receive visual acuity measurement and eye examination. Prevalence of blindness and moderate and severe visual impairment was calculated according to different age, gender or education. And the reasons of blindness were analyzed.Statistical analyses were performed using Stata/SE Statistical Software, release 9.0. Chi-square test was used to investigate the association of age, gender and education with presenting and best corrected visual acuity., Results: Five thousands five hundreds and twenty-seven individuals were enumerated and 5051 persons were examined, the response rate was 91.39%. Based on the criteria of World Health Organization visual impairment classification in 1973, the prevalence of blindness and moderate and severe visual impairment defined as best corrected visual acuity was 1.05% (53/5051) and 3.46% (175/5051) respectively. The prevalence of blindness and moderate and severe visual impairment defined as presenting visual acuity was 1.48% (75/5051) and 7.94% (401/5051) respectively. The prevalence of blindness and moderate and severe visual impairment was higher in aged (trend χ(2) = 897.27, P = 0.000) , female (χ(2) = 30.32, P = 0.000), illiterate (trend χ(2) = 83.20, P = 0.000) persons. Cataract was still the first leading cause of blindness. Un-corrected refractive error also was the main cause of visual impairment., Conclusions: The prevalence of blindness and moderate and severe visual impairment is relatively lower among China Nine Province Survey. The first leading cause of blindness and visual impairment is still cataract.

A field survey of the overwintering planthoppers (Hemiptera: Delphacidae) associated with the rice agroecosystems in southern Yunnan was carried out during January-February in 2010 and 2011. 22 species of planthoppers were collected and identified, with one species representing the subfamily Stenocraninae and the other 21 species in Delphacinae. Nycheuma cognatum (Muir), Peregrinus maidis (Ashmead), and Pseudosogata vatrenus (Fennah) were new provincial records for Yunnan. The pest species, Sogatella furcifera (Horváth), Nilaparvata lugens (Stål), and Laodelphax striatellus (Fallén) were able to overwinter in part of the survey range. 13 species were listed to be of economic importance. Abandoned rice paddies with dense Poaceae grasses (Poaceae) were the most favorable overwintering habitat. The survey range was divided into four regions and five areas based on natural geographical characteristics. The study demonstrated that winter temperature differentiation, terrains, and habitat differences were three factors affecting planthopper diversity. Planthopper species diversity showed a reductive trend from south to north and reflected a gradient of more severe winter temperatures. In addition, planthopper diversity was influenced by smaller-scale differences in terrain and habitat, as evidenced by greater diversity in the valleys and low-altitude areas as compared to mid-mountain and Karst plain areas.

The polymorphism of hemoglobin (Hb), serum albumin (Alb), trandferring (Tf) and adenosin deaminase (Ada) in the blood of Emberiza elegans, Phylloscopus inornatus, E. aureola, Lanius tigrinus, Passer montanus, and E. spodocephala in Zhalong National Nature Reserve were studied by SDS-polyacrylamide-gel electrophoresis. All the protein loci of the six Passeriformes species exhibited polymorphism, and Ada locus had a relatively high heterozygosity. The analysis of average heterozygosity demonstrated that P. inornatus had a higher population genetic variance, while E. spodocephala was relatively stable. The six species could be classified into two clusters. E. elegans, E. aureola, E. spodocephala and P. inornatus were clustered into one group, while P. montanus and L. tigrinus were clustered into another group. This clustering was consistent with the actual taxonomic status of the six species. The higher thermoregulation index and predation pressure of the study area did not lead to the substantial variation of hereditary constitution of the six species, possibly due to the gene intercommunion between the six species and the outside of the study area, which decreased the variance and differentiation of the population genetics of the six species.
