This article summarizes the background, specific conditions, main measures, steps and effects of the implementation of Mass Drug Administration (MDA) to control the local P. vivax malaria epidemic in Anhui Province in central China. Distributing medicines to the designated population quickly controlled the local epidemic of P. vivax. Implementing MDA to control P. vivax ensured the correct selection of medicines, clarification of the targeted population for receipt of medicines, and assurance of a high rate of compliance through government support and health education. Background: WHO recommended multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) should be treated mainly under ambulatory model, but outcome of ambulatory treatment of MDR-TB in China was little known., Methods: The clinical data of 261 MDR-TB patients treated as outpatients in Shenzhen, China during 2010-2015 were collected and analyzed retrospectively., Results: Of 261 MDR-TB patients receiving ambulatory treatment, 71.1% (186/261) achieved treatment success (cured or completed treatment), 0.4% (1/261) died during treatment, 11.5% (30/261) had treatment failure or relapse, 8.0% (21/261) were lost to follow-up, and 8.8% (23/261) were transferred out. The culture conversion rate at 6 months was 85.0%. Although 91.6% (239/261) of patients experienced at least one adverse event (AE), only 2% of AEs caused permanent discontinuation of one or more drugs. Multivariate analysis showed that previous TB treatment, regimens containing capreomycin and resistance to FQs were associated with poor outcomes, while experiencing three or more AEs was associated with good outcomes., Conclusion: Good treatment success rates and early culture conversions were achieved with entirely ambulatory treatment of MDR-TB patients in Shenzhen, supporting WHO recommendations. As a common food seasoning in China, Zanthoxylum schinifolium Sieb. et Zucc. is desired by consumers for its special aroma; however, its bitter taste has a negative economic impact on the food industry. In this study, untargeted metabolomics was used to perform full-coverage detection of metabolites in Z. schinifolium Sieb. et Zucc. A total of 53 potential bitter metabolites were screened. Additionally, key bitter compounds were concentrated using sensory-guided fractionation technique and subsequently characterized by UPLC-Q-TOF-MS, and a total of 13 bitter compounds were obtained. Then, dose over threshold values (DOT) of these 13 compounds were calculated, showing that 11 compounds significantly contribute to the bitterness of Z. schinifolium Sieb. et Zucc., with quercetin, isorhamnetin and kaempferol have particularly low thresholds and high contents. This study is the first to comprehensively define the bitter substances in Z. schinifolium Sieb. et Zucc., providing a reliable theoretical basis for future research on bitterness mechanisms., (Copyright © 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
