By means of integrated finite element analysis model including suspended curtain wall support structure (CWSS) and main structure, the properties of cooperative work of CWSS were analyzed in detail, including the analysis of properties of nonuniform deformation of suspension point and its effect on internal forces and safety of curtain wall plates, the analysis of properties of relative vertical deformation and its effect on internal forces of CWSS under horizontal loads, the response of vertical nonuniform deformation, internal forces and acceleration of CWSS under vertical earthquake action and adjustment measures about them. Analysis results show that, under gravity load, nonuniform deformation of CWSS will be out of allowable range of glass plates and lead to damage. By adjusting the structure arrangement of mechanical, electrical and plumbing floor and stiffness of amenity floor, the nonuniform deformation could be reduced and the safety of glass plates could be assured, too. Under gravity and horizontal loads, vertical relative deformation between main structure and ring beam will lead to additional moments of radial strut. Setting the sliding structure in the end of radial strut can reduce the additional moment and ensure service of curtain wall safety. Under vertical earthquake action, a larger nonuniform deformation which has an adverse effect on plates, additional axial force of sag rods and significant vertical acceleration response of ring beam will be produced. In the design process, all above adverse factors should be evaluated to ensure the safety of curtain wall system under vertical earthquake action. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
