Abstract

Abstract: China is a country with many catastrophes, especially in Sichuan Province, where earthquake occurs frequently. This paper simulated a catastrophe insurance securitization.by actuarial analyzing the insurance of Sichuan earthquake which occurred in China in 2008. Two cash flow models, i.e. single period and double periods were used as calculation tool to find out the premium for the Sichuan earthquake insurance. It is concluded that catastrophe insurance securitization for earthquake is applicable in actuarial terms in China. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
