The purpose of this study is to explore the factors affecting college users' willingness to participate in smart services of academic library. The paper analyzes the factors affecting college users' willingness to participate in library smart services, and constructs a conceptual model with 17 hypotheses proposed, based on the theory of Uses and Gratifications, Social Cognition Theory, Innovation Diffusion Theory, and Information Systems Success Model. The conceptual model was empirically tested using structural equation modeling technique through questionnaire survey data. The questionnaire was distributed online to college students and teachers in different provinces of China by using random sampling technique. College users' willingness to participate in smart services of academic library is directly and positively affected by information need of users, innovative consciousness of users, service platform performance, user satisfaction, library publicity and guidance, and extrinsic incentives. Information quality, service platform performance, service quality, and service value have significant and positive impact on user satisfaction, and they all indirectly affect users' willingness to participate in smart services of academic library through user satisfaction. The survey results also show that the purpose of college students and teachers' participation in smart services is mainly to meet their information needs. And users' participation willingness is not affected by self-efficacy of users and others' influence, which is different from the participation motivation of users on social Q & A and short video platforms. Understanding of factors affecting users' willingness to participate in smart services of academic library will likely demand rethink into a number of issues ignored by studies on smart library and smart services. Few studies focus on users' participation behavior in smart services of library. With the further promotion of "Double First-Class" construction of universities in China, the new goal of all universities is building the first-class discipline. Academic library is the literature center of university, subject services of library should follow the pace of discipline development. In this paper, the citation frequency, which is considered as one of the important indicators of scientific research evaluation and academic evaluation, is taken as the breakthrough point. We take pharmacology as an example, take Web of Science as the platform, analyze the journal articles of this discipline in 2006–2016, reveal the characteristics of highly cited articles and the causes of zero cited articles. From publishing journals, publication year, research direction, fund and scientific research institutions to reveal academic library how to optimize journal navigation and collection structure and how to help researchers select periodicals, propagate research productions, explore the potential themes, control discipline trends, track disciplinary hot spots, obtain funding, strengthen research cooperation, etc. in order to make the subject services of library further expand. In recent years, the spatial renovation of university libraries in various countries has focused on readers' needs and followed the trend to develop learning spaces as a primary spatial form. In this study, we reviewed six spatial dimensions affecting student users' learning experience. Specifically, we built a theory- and practice-based conceptual analysis framework to measure users' satisfaction with recent spatial renovations at three university libraries in Wuhan, China. We used SPSS statistical software to conduct multiple linear regression analyses of spatial satisfaction. The findings show that five spatial dimensions significantly affect students' satisfaction with library space, namely, service facility availability, quality of interior design, physical environment elements, spatial diversity, and learning space controllability. Service facility availability is the most critical factor affecting spatial satisfaction. In this study, we present empirical, evidence-based space elements that enhance user satisfaction with library spaces, and provide targeted design suggestions for future library space renovation and the optimization of space allocation and expansion of space services at university libraries in China. Student deep participation in library work allows students to actively participate in library operation and become deeply involved in library service and program development. There are usually two levels of deep participation: level I refers to the employment of student assistants in different areas of library routine work, ranging from shelving to IT support; and level II refers to the engagement of students as library partners or collaborators, working with librarians to complete independent project. Sharing Tsinghua University Library's experiences, we provide a holistic view of how the two levels of student deep participation are implemented at an academic library, with a focus on level II. We seek to generate a thorough understanding of the practices and benefits of student deep participation, and encourage academic libraries to create more opportunities to deeply involve students in library work, and to ultimately demonstrate the value and relevance of the library to the campus community. In this paper, the status of library anxiety among university students in China is studied. With interviews, questionnaires and statistical methods, a modified Chinese Library Anxiety Scale (C-LAS) is developed, considerably different from that previously proposed by Bostick [Bostick, S. L. (1992). The development and validation of the Library Anxiety Scale. PhD dissertation, Wayne State University] and suitable for the Chinese cultural sphere, consisting of seven factors including resources, retrieval, regulations, staff, knowledge, comfort and affection, delineated further into 36 statements in total. Two aspects of users including demographic factors and participation in library training courses are also studied. This study proposes a quantitative measure for the levels of library anxiety in China. The findings also suggest that resources, retrieval, and regulations are the main factors impacting library anxiety and that users' library anxiety levels are related to demographic factors and participation in library training courses. Micro-film is the short and essential version of ordinary film or movie, including the complete story. Thus, different from the interaction way of traditional promotion, micro-film marketing is the synthesis of mobile social media and film art, and it becomes the popular advertising solution of library because of its terseness, forcefulness and fashion. This study identifies 39 top academic university libraries as survey samples and investigates the overall application status of these libraries. The results indicate that the micro-film marketing is not very frequently adopted by libraries to promote their services, resources and culture, however, these micro-films have gained the positive feedback and more micro-films are in the planning stages. These distinguishing features of micro-films can be fully reflected by the specific properties, plots and formats of released micro-films in academic libraries. Characteristic concept and culture of library are still the emphasis of marketing themes, and it is more common for students rather than librarians to act as the actors and producers in micro-films based on the real campus or library life. A user assessment study was conducted to evaluate the users' level of satisfaction with the Chinese studies collection at the University of Malaya Library. The respondents were library professionals, faculty members, undergraduate and postgraduate students at the Department of Chinese Studies, University of Malaya. A total of 135 responses were received with a response rate of 77.5%. The results indicated that the undergraduates of years 2 and 3 and the postgraduates were less satisfied with the collection and services compared with the undergraduates of year 1, faculty members and library professionals. Results showed that there is no significant gap between the performance evaluation by library professionals and library users' expectations in the level of satisfaction with the information sources available between the library professionals and the respondents from the Department of Chinese Studies at the university.
