Aim: This study analysed and summarized the correlation between various indicators of ICU nurses' personal lives, hospital work situation, social opinion, psychological assessment, and their intention to resign. Design: A descriptive quantitative study. Methods: This study was a multicentre questionnaire on factors influencing intensive care unit (ICU) nurses' intention to resign. This study was completed through the Critical Care E Institute (CCEI) and China Calm Therapy Research Group Academic Organization (CNCSG) by contacting ICU nurses in three hospitals in 34 provinces in China. The questionnaire was in the form of a cell phone WeChat scan code. The survey included 22 indicators, including basic information about nurses (marital and child status, personal income, etc.), hospital work (weekly working hours, night shift, hospital environment, etc.), and psychological symptoms. Results: A total of 1904 nurses were included in this study. Among them, 1060 (55.67%) had the intention to resign. In this study, among the 22 indicators involved, 16 factors, including hospital work hours, job title, satisfaction with current income, having children, and evaluation of the hospital, significantly impact nurses' intentions to resign (all p < 0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that six indicators influenced nurses' choice of resignation intention (all p < 0.05), including hospital work time, professional title, income satisfaction, hospital work pride, satisfaction of nurses with the compassion and care given to them by their hospitals, and career vision score. The ROC curve showed that all six indicators were <0.70, but the model receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve constructed for the indicators was 0.756. In China, increasing the income of ICU nurses, fostering pride in hospital work, reducing working hours, ensuring smooth promotion processes, and enhancing career prospects can all decrease their likelihood of choosing to resign. Absorbing practical nursing management and work experience from other countries will help decrease the intention to resign within this group. Introduction: Body measurement traits are integral in cattle production, serving as pivotal criteria for breeding selection. Wenshan cattle, a local breed in China’s Yunnan province, exhibit remarkable genetic diversity. However, the molecular mechanisms regulating body measurement traits in Wenshan cattle remain unexplored. Methods: In this study, we performed a genome-wide association method to identify genetic architecture for body height body length hip height back height (BAH), waist height and ischial tuberosity height using the Bovine 50 K single nucleotide polymorphism Array in 1060 Wenshan cattles. Results: This analysis reveals 8 significant SNPs identified through the mixed linear model (MLM), with 6 SNPs are associated with multiple traits and 4 SNPs are associated with all 6 traits. Furthermore, we pinpoint 21 candidate genes located in proximity to or within these significant SNPs. Among them, Scarb1, acetoacetyl-CoA synthetase and HIVEP3 were implicated in bone formation and rarely encountered in livestock body measurement traits, emerge as potential candidate genes regulating body measurement traits in Wenshan cattle. Discussion: This investigation provides valuable insights into the genetic mechanisms underpinning body measurement traits in this unique cattle breed, paving the way for further research in this domain. Background and purpose: Intracranial atherosclerotic disease (ICAD) is a major cause of ischemic stroke in China, but the prevalence and prognosis of asymptomatic ICAD detected using high‐resolution magnetic resonance imaging (HR‐MRI) is largely unknown. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence and prognosis in order to guide neurologists in interpreting ICAD detected on HR‐MRI. Methods: We included stroke‐free participants from a community‐based prospective cohort (Shunyi study participants) who underwent HR‐MRI between July 2014 and April 2016. The participants were divided into two groups: those with or without ICAD (ICAD+ and ICAD−, respectively). ICAD included intracranial artery stenosis and non‐stenotic plaque. The primary outcome was ischemic stroke. Cox proportional hazard models were used to evaluate the association between ICAD and event outcomes. Results: A total of 1060 stroke‐free participants evaluated by HR‐MRI were included from the Shunyi study. The median age at HR‐MRI was 56 years and 64.7% were female. The ICAD prevalence was 36.3% (n = 385). The ICAD+ group was older and had more cerebrovascular risk factors. The rates of ischemic stroke in the ICAD− and ICAD+ groups were 1.3% (n = 9) and 5.2% (n = 20), respectively, with a median follow‐up time of 54 months. ICAD was associated with an increased risk of ischemic stroke in the unadjusted and adjusted Cox models, with hazard ratios of 4.12 (95% confidence interval [CI] 1.87–9.05) and 2.50 (95% CI 1.05–5.94), respectively. The greatest risk of an event outcome was observed in participants with ≥70% stenosis or occlusion. The features of high‐risk plaques were also identified. Conclusions: We found that ICAD detected using HR‐MRI increases the long‐term risk of a first‐ever ischemic stroke in a stroke‐free population, suggesting that the current primary prevention protocol of stroke awaits further optimization. Central venous access device-related thrombosis (CRT) is a common complication in hospitalized children. The pediatric nurses' knowledge, attitude, and practice are of great significance for CRT prevention in hospitalized children. The purpose of this study was to elaborate on the level and influencing factors of pediatric nurses' knowledge, attitude, and practice on the prevention related to CRT in hospitalized children. This national cross-sectional study was carried out in China from January 16, 2021, to April 23, 2021. A multi-stage sampling method was adopted, and 1060 pediatric nurses from 21 hospitals participated in this study. The current situation and influencing factors of pediatric nurses' knowledge, attitude, and practice were investigated by descriptive statistics, approximate t test or independent-sample t test, nonparametric Kruskal–Wallis H test, one-way analysis of variance, and multiple linear regression analysis. The relationship among pediatric nurses' knowledge, attitude, and practice was explored by the Pearson correlation analysis. Among all pediatric nurses involved in this study, 25% had insufficient knowledge, 18% had negative attitudes, and 24% had poor behaviors. The main influencing factors on the knowledge, attitude, and practice included the highest education level of pediatric nurses (β = 0.10, P =.001), whether received training related to CRT prevention (β = 0.09–0.14, P <.01), whether CRT-related knowledge was enough for dealing with clinical work (β = 0.18–0.21, P <.001), and the importance of hospitals/departments on children CRT prevention (β = 0.16–0.24, P <.001). There was a positive correlation between knowledge, attitude, and practice (r = 0.24–0.77, P <.01). Conclusion: Pediatric nurses' CRT-prevention knowledge and practice are unsatisfactory, while their preventive attitude toward CRT prevention is optimistic. This study assists the formulation of comprehensive intervention strategies for pediatric nurses in preventing CRT in hospitalized children by hospital-related organizations and nursing managers, so as to improve the participation of pediatric nurses in CRT prevention and reduce the occurrence of CRT for hospitalized children. Aim: To examine the status quo and influencing factors of sleep quality and work engagement of nurses participating in COVID‐19 during the post‐epidemic era and to study the relationship between them. Design: We conducted a cross‐sectional survey and correlational and predictive logic to determine the association between sleep quality and work engagement among nurses in Shanghai during the post‐epidemic era. Methods: This design involved 1060 frontline nurses in Shanghai. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale‐9 scales were used for data collection. Results: This study found that the sleep quality of frontline nurses was impaired and the nurses with poor sleep accounted for 48.20% during the post‐epidemic era. The work engagement of frontline nurses was at the medium level. Factors affecting nurses' sleep quality were the number of nurse night shifts, family support and nurse health. The factors affecting the nurse work engagement were monthly income, profession title, family support and self‐health status. Background: The high rate of nurses turnover and nursing staff shortage have been an ongoing concern issue and a challenge for global health systems. To explore the turnover intention among operating theatre nurses, and to test the hypothetical model for estimating the effects of stress overload and fatigue between social support, mental health and turnover intention. Design: a multi-center and cross-sectional online survey. Methods: This study was conducted from October 2020 to March 2021 comprised 1060 operating theatre nurses from 76 Chinese hospitals. The descriptive analysis, independent sample t test and one-way analysis of variance and Spearman correlation analysis were used to explore the relationships among variables by the SPSS software, and stepwise multiple linear regression analysis was utilized to identify influencing factors of turnover intention and its dimensions among operating theatre nurses. A structural equation model was analyzed by the AMOS software. Results: Social support, mental health, stress overload and fatigue were important predictors of turnover intention among operating theatre nurses. Besides, stress overload positively affected fatigue, mental health and turnover intention; fatigue negatively affected social support, however, fatigue positively affected mental health; social support negatively affected mental health and turnover intention; mental health positively affected turnover intention. Moreover, social support, mental health mediated between stress overload, fatigue and turnover intention among operating theatre nurses. In green chemistry, filamentous fungi are regarded as a kind of robust microorganism for the biotransformation of natural products. Nonetheless, the screening of microorganisms is crucial for the effective biotransformation of natural products, such as phenazine compounds. The precursor metabolite of most phenazine derivatives in Pseudomonas spp. is phenazine-1-carboxylic acid (PCA), the key constituent of shenqinmycin, widely used to control rice sheath blight in southern China. In this study, a new fungus strain Aspergillus sclerotiorum was isolated, which can efficiently convert PCA into 3-hydroxy-phenazine 1-carboxylic acid (3-OH-PCA). Moreover, an effective whole cells biotransformation system was designed by screening optimal reaction conditions and carbon sources. Hence, Aspergillus sclerotiorum exhibited desirable adaptation by the consumption of different carbon sources and maximum whole-cell biomass (10.6 g/L DCW) was obtained as a biocatalyst from glucose. Optimal conditions for whole-cell biocatalysis of PCA were evaluated, including a PCA concentration of 1120 mg/L, a pH of 7.0, a temperature of 25 °C, a rotation rate of 200 rpm, and dry cell weight of 15 g/L for 60 h; thus, 1060 mg/L of 3-OH-PCA was obtained and the conversion efficiency of PCA was 94%. Hence, the results of the repeated batch mood revealed that the biotransformation efficiency of fungus pellets reduced with each subsequent cycle, but remained stable in all five cycles with the provision of a glucose supplement. These findings present the prospect of using filamentous fungi for the whole-cell biocatalysis of phenazine in enormous amounts and the efficient production of 3-OH-PCA. The term 'audience-facing apprehension' (AFA) was coined by Chinese psychologists to describe an issue faced by Chinese university students wherein they experience worry, tension, anxiety, or fear when facing more than two listeners or spectators. This study attempted to explore the specific correlation between positive and negative parenting styles and first-year university students' AFA specifically by identifying the mediating factor (i.e. self-esteem) influencing this relationship. A sample of 1060 first-year university students (Mage = 19.43, SD = 1.06) was recruited from universities in southwest China who completed questionnaires measuring AFA, parenting style, and self-esteem. Structural equation model results confirmed that (1) parental care(such as emotional warmth), an aspect of positive parenting, is significantly and negatively correlated to the students' AFA; (2) parental control (such as rejection and overp rotection), an aspect of negative parenting, is significantly and positively correlated to the students' AFA; and (3) self-esteem is a significant mediator in the relationship between parental styles and AFA. Thus, this study confirmed that parenting style and self-esteem level were important factors of university students' AFA and further revealed that parenting style is not only directly related to the students' AFA, but is also indirectly related to AFA through self-esteem. This implies that aspects of positive parenting, such as emotional warmth, will help to improve freshmen's self-esteem, which will in turn reduce their AFA. Background: In China, bypassing is becoming increasingly prevalent. Such behavior, as going directly to upper-level health-care facilities without a primary care provider (PCP) referral when facing non-critical diseases, contrasts to "expanding the role of PCPs as the first-contact of care", may cause unneglectable damage to the healthcare system and people's physical health. Objective: To examine the relationship between patient experience in primary health-care clinics (PHCs) and their bypass behavior. Methods: A cross-sectional study was designed for data collection. From July 2021 to August 2021, we conducted a questionnaire survey nationally. Fifty-three investigators were dispatched to 212 pre-chosen PHCs, around which 1060 interviewees were selected to gather information, using a convenience sampling. The primary independent variable was scores measured by Chinese Primary Care Assessment Tool (PCAT-C) to quantify patients' experience at PHCs. The dependent variable was a binary variable measured by a self-developed instrument to identify whether participants actually practiced bypassing. Covariates were well-screened determinants of patients' bypass behavior including socio-demographic factors, policy factors, and health-care suppliers. Binary logistic regression analysis was employed to evaluate the association of patients' experience with their bypass behavior. Findings: A total of 928 qualified questionnaires were obtained. The first contact dimension (OR 0.961 [95% CI 0.934 to 0.988], P = 0.005) and continuity dimension (OR 1.034 [95% CI 1.000 to 1.068], P = 0.047) of patients' experience were significantly associated with patients' bypass behavior (P < 0.05). In addition, age (OR 1.072, [95% CI 1.015– 1.132], P = 0.013) and gender (OR 2.044, [95% CI 1.139– 3.670], P = 0.017) also made a statistically significant difference. Conclusion: Enhancement in patient experience at PHCs may help reduce their bypass behavior. Specifically, efforts are needed to improve primary care accessibility and utilization. The positive correlation between bypassing rates and continuity scores may require more attention on strengthening PCPs' technical quality besides the quality of interpersonal interactions. Simple Summary: Avian leukosis viruses (ALVs) are important veterinary viruses. Given the medicinal and economic significance of ALV infections in poultry, we explored and compiled data from the Web of Science (Core Collection) database. According to scientific data, there are limited bibliometric studies on ALV research. We aimed to find research trends and themes, the influential journals, authors, countries, institutions, and worldwide collaborative networking of countries on ALV research. Recent developments in networking science and bibliometric tools have paved the way to visualize and map scientific outputs. We utilized the bibliometric tools VOSviewer and Biblioshiny software to construct and map research trends and themes for Avian Leukosis Viruses. Our findings revealed that Chinese and American research institutions produced the majority of papers during the study time period. The Journal of Virology and Avian Diseases appeared as the preferable journal/source for publications. Apart from the avian leukosis virus and the ALV-J, the important keywords mentioned were avian leukosis virus subgroup j, chicken, and retrovirus. The bibliometric analysis revealed substantial findings on ALV research, with a strong research response from the USA and China. Avian leukosis virus (ALV) has a tremendous adverse impact on the poultry industry. Since its discovery, research on different aspects of ALV have been published. Feline coronavirus (FCoV) infections present as one of two forms: a mild or symptom-less enteric infection (FEC) and a fatal systemic disease termed feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). The lack of epidemiology of FCoV in central China and the reason why different symptoms are caused by viruses of the same serotype have motivated this investigation. Clinical data of 81 suspected FIP cases, 116 diarrhea cases and 174 healthy cases were collected from veterinary hospitals using body cavity effusion or fecal samples. Risk factors, sequence comparison and phylogenetic studies were performed. The results indicated that FIPV was distinguished from FECV in the average hydrophobicity of amino acids among the cleavage sites of furin, as well as the mutation sites 23,531 and 23,537. FIPV included a higher minimal R-X-X-R recognition motif of furin (41.94%) than did FECV (9.1%). The serotype of FCoV was insignificantly correlated with FIP, and the clade 1 and clade 2 strains that appeared were unique to central China. Thus, it is hypothesized that this, along with the latent variables of an antigenic epitope at positions 1058 and 1060, as well as mutations at the S1/S2 sites, are important factors affecting FCoV transmission and pathogenicity. Background: Vincristine plus dexamethasone pulses are generally used throughout maintenance treatment for childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. However, previous studies remain inconclusive about the benefit of this maintenance therapy and the absence of randomised, controlled trials in patients with low-risk or high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukaemia provides uncertainty. We therefore aimed to determine if this therapy could be safely omitted beyond 1 year of treatment without leading to an inferior outcome in any risk subgroup of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.Methods: This open-label, multicentre, randomised, phase 3, non-inferiority trial involved 20 major medical centres across China. We enrolled patients who were aged 0-18 years with newly diagnosed acute lymphoblastic leukaemia that was subsequently in continuous remission for 1 year after initial treatment. Patients with secondary malignancy or primary immunodeficiency were excluded. Eligible patients were classified as having low-risk, intermediate-risk, or high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukaemia based on minimal residual disease and immunophenotypic and genetic features of leukaemic cells. Randomisation and analyses were done separately for the low-risk and intermediate-to-high-risk cohorts. Randomisation was generated by the study biostatistician with a block size of six. Stratification factors included participating centre, sex, and age at diagnosis; the low-risk cohort was additionally stratified for ETV6-RUNX1 status, and the intermediate-to-high-risk cohort for cell lineage. Patients in each risk cohort were randomly assigned (1:1) to either receive (ie, the control group) or not receive (ie, the experimental group) seven pulses of intravenous vincristine (1·5 mg/m2) plus oral dexamethasone (6 mg/m2 per day for 7 days) during the second year of treatment. The primary endpoint was difference in 5-year event-free survival between the experimental group and the control group for both the low-risk and intermediate-to-high-risk cohorts, with a non-inferiority margin of 0·05 (5%). This trial is registered with the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry, ChiCTR-IPR-14005706.Findings: Between Jan 1, 2015, and Feb 20, 2020, 6141 paediatric patients with newly diagnosed acute lymphoblastic leukaemia were registered to this study. Approximately 1 year after diagnosis and treatment, 5054 patients in continuous remission were randomly assigned, including 2923 (1442 in the control group and 1481 in the experimental group) with low-risk acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and 2131 (1071 control, 1060 experimental) with intermediate-to-high risk acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Median follow-up for patients who were alive at the time of analysis was 3·7 years (IQR 2·8-4·7). Among patients with low-risk acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, no difference was observed in 5-year event-free survival between the control group and the experimental group (90·3% [95% CI 88·4-92·2] vs 90·2% [88·2-92·2]; p=0·90). The one-sided 95% upper confidence bound for the difference in 5-year event-free survival probability was 0·024, establishing non-inferiority. Among patients with intermediate-to-high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, no difference was observed in 5-year event-free survival between the control group and the experimental group (82·8% [95% CI 80·0-85·7] vs 80·8% [77·7-84·0]; p=0·90), but the one-sided 95% upper confidence bound for the difference in 5-year event-free survival probability was 0·055, giving a borderline inferior result for those in the experimental group. In the low-risk cohort, we found no differences in the rates of infections, symptomatic osteonecrosis, or other complications during the second year of maintenance treatment between patients in the control and experimental groups. Patients with intermediate-to-high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in the control group were more likely to develop grade 3-4 pneumonia (26 [2·4%] of 1071 vs ten [0·9%] of 1060) and vincristine-related peripheral neuropathy (17 [1·6%] vs six [0·6%]) compared with the experimental group. Incidence of grade 5 fatal infection was similar between the control group and the experimental group in both the low-risk cohort (two [0·1%] of 1442 vs five [0·3%] of 1481) and intermediate-to-high risk cohort (six [0·6%] of 1071 vs five [0·5%] of 1060).Interpretation: Vincristine plus dexamethasone pulses might be omitted beyond 1 year of treatment for children with low-risk acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Background Porcine proliferative enteropathy caused by Lawsonia intracellularis (L. intracellularis) is a major concern to the pig industry worldwide. Although 8.3 billion pigs are produced each year in China, few reports on the prevalence of L.intracellularis infection are available. The aim of the current study was to estimate the seroprevalence of L. intracellularis antibodies in intensive pig farms in China. Results A total of 1060 serum samples were collected from 14 commercial pig farms located throughout China. Animals from all age groups were sampled including pre-weaning piglets, weaners, fattening pigs, adult sows and boars. Antibodies against L. intracellularis were detected using a specific blocking ELISA. Of the 1060 serum samples, 602 were identified as positive using the ELISA test. The apparent seroprevalence of L. intracellularis seropositivity was 57% (95% CI 50 to 64%). The true prevalence (that is, prevalence corrected for the imperfect sensitivity and specificity of the testing method) was 77% (95% CI 70 to 83%). Conclusions The highest true prevalence was observed in sows and boars, suggesting that within a herd these stock classes are a reservoir for infection. The prevalence of L. intracellularis seropositivity in local breed pigs was significantly less than that in imported breeds. A higher seroprevalence was found in pigs in herds in Central and Northern China, which may correspond to the greater use of the intensive production systems in these areas. Global climate during the Jurassic has been commonly described as a uniform greenhouse climate for a long time. However, the climate scenario of a cool episode during the Callovian–Oxfordian transition following by a warming trend during the Oxfordian (163.53 to 157.4 Ma) is documented in many localities of the western Tethys. It is still unclear if a correlatable climate scenario also occurred in the eastern Tethys during the same time interval. In this study, a detailed geochemical analysis on the 1060 m thick successions (the Xiali and Suowa formations) from the Yanshiping section of the Qiangtang Basin, located in the eastern Tethys margin during the Callovian–Oxfordian periods, was performed. To reveal the climate evolution of the basin, carbonate content and soluble salt concentrations (SO42−, Cl−) were chosen as climatic indices. The results show that the overall climate patterns during the deposition of the Xiali and Suowa formations can be divided into three stages: relatively humid (~ 164.0 to 160.9 Ma), dry (~ 160.9 to 159.6 Ma), semi-dry (~ 159.6 to 156.8 Ma). A similar warming climate scenario also occurred in eastern Tethys during the Callovian–Oxfordian transition (~ 160.9 to 159.6 Ma). Besides, we clarify that the Jurassic True polar wander (TPW), the motion of the lithosphere and mantle with respect to Earth's spin axis, inducing climatic shifts were responsible for the aridification of the Qiangtang Basin during the Callovian–Oxfordian transition with a review of the paleolatitude of the Xiali formation (19.7 + 2.8/−2.6° N) and the Suowa formation (20.7 + 4.1/−3.7° N). It is because the TPW rotations shifted the East Asia blocks (the North and South China, Qiangtang, and Qaidam blocks) from the humid zone to the tropical/subtropical arid zone and triggered the remarkable aridification during the Middle-Late Jurassic (ca. 165–155 Ma). Background. The prevalence of coronary artery anomalies (CAAs) is rare and varies among different countries or areas. More importantly, the symptoms exhibited by some CAAs make the diagnosis of coronary artery disease (CAD) difficult and hamper the physician from making the right intervention for CAD patients. Objective. To investigate the prevalence of CAAs in 11,267 patients from three hospitals in Southwest China. Methods. 11,267 patients who have undergone coronary angiography from three Southwest China hospitals were investigated retrospectively. Dominance patterns, prevalence, and the location of each CAA were recorded and analyzed. Results. The presence of a dominant right coronary artery (RCA) was found in 60.58% of patients. CAAs were found in 11.12% (1258) patients, and 87.66% anomalies were located in the left anterior descending (LAD) artery and its branches. Most of CAAs were found to be myocardial bridges (MBs, 1060 cases, 9.41%). Other CAAs included anomalous coronary origin (43 cases, 0.38%), coronary artery fistulas (CAFs, 36 cases, 0.32%), and coronary artery aneurysm or ectasia (119 cases, 1.06%). It also noted that most anomalies were found with RCA originating from the left coronary sinus (79.07%), most CAFs were located in the LAD and its branches (58.33%), and most coronary artery ectasias were located in the RCA (43.25%). Conclusions. CAAs in patients from Southwest China were unique compared to other studies. The purpose of this registry was to provide insights into the characteristics, treatments and survival of patients with PAH-CHD in China. Patients diagnosed with PAH-CHD were enrolled in this national multicenter prospective registry. Baseline and follow-up data on clinical characteristics, PAH-targeted treatments and survival were collected. A total of 1060 PAH-CHD patients (mean age 31 years; 67.9% females) were included, with Eisenmenger syndrome (51.5%) being the most common form and atrial septal defects (37.3%) comprising the most frequent underlying defect. Approximately 33.0% of the patients were in World Health Organization functional class III to IV. The overall mean pulmonary arterial pressure and pulmonary vascular resistance were 67.1 (20.1) mm Hg and 1112.4 (705.9) dyn/s/cm5, respectively. PAH-targeted therapy was utilized in 826 patients (77.9%), and 203 patients (19.1%) received combination therapy. The estimated 1-, 3-, 5-, and 10-year survival rates of the overall cohort were 96.9%, 92.9%, 87.6% and 73.0%, respectively. Patients received combination therapy had significantly better survival than those with monotherapy (p = 0. 016). NT-proBNP >1400 pg/ml, SvO 2 ≤ 65% and Borg dyspnea index ≥ 3 and PAH-targeted therapy were independent predictors of mortality. Hemoglobin > 160g/L was a unique predictor for mortality in Eisenmenger syndrome. Chinese PAH-CHD patients predominantly exhibit Eisenmenger syndrome and have significantly impaired exercise tolerance and right ventricular function at diagnosis, which are closely associated with long-term survival. Background: Body composition is a crucial factor associated with the incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus. However, no study on this relationship has been performed in the Chinese population. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between body composition indicators and risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus among Chinese adults undergoing medical examination.Methods: Between January 2018 and July 2018, a retrospective cross-sectional study was performed on 3367 (2307 male and 1060 female) participants aged ≥18 years undergoing medical examination in Zhengzhou. Logistic regression analysis was performed to explore the relationship between body composition indicators and risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus. A receiver operating characteristic curve was used to calculate cutoff points and the predictive power of each indicator.Results: Among the 3367 participants, 12.53% were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Multivariate logistic analysis indicated that male participants (odds ratio [OR] = 1.68, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.29-2.19), older participants (OR = 1.05, 95% CI: 1.04-1.06), participants with a waist-to-hip ratio above the reference value (OR = 1.56, 95% CI: 1.18-2.07), participants with body fat percentage above the reference value (OR = 1.62, 95% CI: 1.01-2.68), and participant with a large visceral fat area (OR = 1.01, 95% CI: 1.01-1.02) had a high risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Waist-to-hip ratio, body fat percentage, and visceral fat area were the best indicators of type 2 diabetes mellitus (P < 0.001) with cutoff values of 0.90, 25.02%, and 92.00 cm2, respectively.Conclusion: This study suggests a predictive relationship between type 2 diabetes mellitus and body composition indicators of waist-to-hip ratio, body fat percentage, and visceral fat area, which are valuable for screening diabetes and providing effective health education and behavioral intervention for high-risk populations. Background: Different areas of sheep infected with different types of parasites, all will cause serious harm to the local sheep, and the widespread use and repeated use of anthelmintics have produced different degrees of anthelmintic resistance (AR) in various regions. We re-investigated the infection of common parasites and AR of Gastrointestinal Nematodes (GINs) in sheep in Horqin Right Wing Front Banner, and first investigated the common parasite types and AR of GINs in sheep at other four areas in Hinggan league (city), China. Results: A total of 1770 fecal samples were collected from 1 prefecture-level city and 4 counties in Hinggan league, in which the infection rate of Coccidia ranged from 83.3% to 96.06%, that of Ascaris ovis ranged from 10.17% to 15.19%, that of Moniezia benedeni ranged from 0.6% to 1%, that of Moniezia expansa ranged from 0.33% to 8.15%. The infection rate of GINs was 100%, and Haemonchus contortus was still the dominant species. The AR results showed that only the closantel in Horqin Right Wing Middle Banner was low resiatant, and the other three regions had been resistant. Levamisole also occurred AR in the other four regions, the widely used ivermectin and albendazole had produced serious AR in five areas. The research shows that GINs are becoming more and more resistant to various anthelmintics, which has made the problem worse. Conclusions: Understanding the dynamic changes of parasite infections and the development trend of AR in sheep in the region in this paper, the development trend seems to be more serious than imagined. Therefore only by deeply understanding the parasitic infections of sheep in this land can more reasonable medication guidance be carried out. Objective To explore endovascular treatment for patients with blood blister-like aneurysms (BBA) of the internal carotid artery (ICA). Methods and Results A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 25 patients with BBA of ICA admitted to The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from January 2018 to January 2022 were conducted. All of them accepted endovascular treatment: 17 cases were treated with single-stent-assisted embolization, including 14 cases using Lvis stents and 3 cases using Enterprise stents; 4 cases were treated with double-stent-assisted embolization, all using Lvis stents; one case was treated with overlapping stent implantation, including 2 Lvis stents and one Enterprise stent; one case was treated with balloon -assisted embolization, and 2 cases were treated with Tubridge flow diverter. No aneurysm rupture occurred during the surgery. One patient had intra-stent thrombosis during the procedure, while other 24 patients showed smooth blood flow on postoperative immediate DSA. The Raymond classification showed that among the patients, there were 17 cases of grade I occlusion, 3 cases of grade II occlusion, and 5 cases of grade III occlusion. Postoperative complications included cerebral infarction (2 cases), cerebral vasospasm due to subarachnoid hemorrhage (one case), and hydrocephalus (2 cases). Six patients had aneurysm recurrence postoperatively (3 cases using a single Enterprise stent, one case using 2 Lvis stents, one case using Tubridge flow diverter, and one case using a balloon-assisted embolization), among whom 5 patients underwent repeat stent-assisted embolization treatment. And one patient still had recurrence after treatment but achieved cure by adjusting antiplatelet therapy regimen; one patient recovered by adjusting antiplatelet therapy regimen. At 12 months after surgery, the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) scores were as follows: 0 in 15 cases, 1 in 6 cases, 2 in 3 cases, and 6 in one case. The disability rate was 12% (3/25), and the mortality rate was 4% (1/25). Conclusions The degree of immediate postoperative occlusion is crucial for preventing aneurysm recurrence postoperatively. The Huozhou complex in the Trans-North China Orogen exhibits two events of mafic magmatism (separated by ca. 700 Ma): Neoproterozoic (920 ± 15 Ma) Shimenyu diabase and Late Triassic (217 ± 2.5 Ma) Xingtangsi diabase. Investigations have focused on systematic petrology, zircon U-Pb dating, Lu-Hf isotopes, and lithogeochemistry. The research findings indicate that the Late Triassic Xingtangsi diabase of the Huozhou complex can be classified as a transitional type between intermediate and mafic rocks based on their SiO2 content. This classification is supported by an average SiO2 content of 53.94%, ranging from 53.33% to 54.28%. In the Zr/TiO2 vs. Ce diagram, all samples lie within the range of basalt. The zircons from the Late Triassic Xingtangsi diabase have low εHf(t) values ranging from –12.7 to –8.7, with an average of –11.1. Additionally, the single-stage model age TDM1 is estimated to be between 1207 and 1701 Ma. These findings suggest that the magma responsible for the dyke originated from either partial melting or an enriched mantle source inside the Meso-Proterozoic lithospheric mantle. The elevated concentrations of Th (thorium) and LREEs (light rare earth elements), as well as the Th/Yb and Th/Nb ratios, suggest the potential incorporation of subducted sediments within the magma source region. The rock displays negative Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf, and Ti anomalies. These geochemical attributes align with the distinctive traits observed in volcanic rocks found within island arcs. The formation of the Late Triassic Xingtangsi diabase is likely associated with the geological context of an arc setting, which arises from the collision between the Yangtze plate and the North China Craton. Objective: This qualitative study aims to explore the manifestations of posttraumatic growth among Chinese patients with Crohn's disease from a cultural perspective and to identify the factors influencing it. Methods: A descriptive qualitative research method was used. Semistructured interviews were conducted with 19 patients with Crohn's disease from several hospitals in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, and the China Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. Results: There were five key manifestations of posttraumatic growth experienced by Chinese patients with Crohn's disease: improving interpersonal relationships, enhancing personal strengths, changing life priorities, expanding possibilities and gaining religious faith. Posttraumatic growth among patients was predominantly influenced by individual factors, the disease condition and social support. Conclusion: The findings regarding the manifestations of and factors influencing posttraumatic growth in Chinese patients with Crohn's disease are consistent with those in previous studies in patients with chronic diseases. However, our study underscores the multifaceted impact of Chinese cultural characteristics on posttraumatic growth among Crohn's disease patients. Functional groups (FGs) represent a classification scheme designed to study the ecological adaptations of phytoplankton. However, FG dynamics studies in phytoplankton are often conducted independent of taxonomic studies, so the factors influencing community dynamics have not been sufficiently investigated or compared between the two classification systems. In this study, we compared the intricate relationship between taxonomic and FG compositions in North China lakes and delve into the key environmental drivers shaping phytoplankton community dynamics. This investigation revealed that taxonomic and FG classifications exhibit high qualitative and quantitative similarities in the community structure. Environmental drivers had a stronger influence on the FG structure than taxonomic composition, indicating that the FG classification does not result in the loss of ecological information regarding the community structure, even with the reduced number of grouping units. Indeed, it was evident that FGs contained a larger quantity of ecological information. These conclusions were further verified using lakes in eastern China. Additionally, we found that climatic–geographical factors usually exerted indirect influences, by altering water chemistry, while water chemical factors had more direct and stronger influences. The combined effects of both types of environmental factors had a greater impact on the phytoplankton FG structure than on taxonomic composition. In conclusion, we believe that an in‐depth study of FGs will better focus on the ecological characteristics of phytoplankton, while also avoiding the need for extensive species identification. Background: Handgrip strength (HGS) weakness and asymmetry are both abnormal conditions of upper-limb muscle strength. The association between HGS weakness and physical performance is controversial, and the link between HGS asymmetry and physical performance remains unclear. Aims: This study aimed to investigate the associations of HGS weakness and asymmetry separately and concurrently with low physical performance among Chinese older people. Methods: The study used two waves of data from China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) in 2013 and 2015. HGS weakness and asymmetry were defined according to the maximal HGS and the HGS ratio, respectively. Participants were classified into 4 groups according to HGS status: normal, asymmetry only, weakness only, and concurrent weakness and asymmetry. The logistic regression model was used to investigate the cross-sectional association between low physical performance and each of maximal HGS, HGS ratio, and HGS status, as well as the prospective association between baseline HGS status and new-onset physical performance decline after two years. Results: Participants with HGS asymmetry only, weakness only, and two abnormalities showed a higher prevalence of low physical performance when asymmetry defined as an HGS ratio exceeding 1.20 and 1.30 (all, p < 0.001), with the greatest odds in those with two abnormalities (20% threshold: OR 3.83; 30% threshold: OR 5.41). The longitudinal analysis found that HGS weakness can predict the new-onset low physical performance over a two-year period, with concurrent HGS asymmetry further increased the future risk of physical performance decline. Conclusions: Both HGS weakness and asymmetry were associated with a higher prevalence of low physical performance, in an additive way. This study will help screen older people with low physical performance more efficiently, and identify those at higher risk of developing new-onset physical performance decline within two years. Deep borehole cores are an important material basis for understanding deep stress conditions and rockburst risk; however, the complex environment of deep boreholes poses many challenges to traditional core orientation techniques, thus limiting the application of cores in fields such as in situ stress measurement. A technical method of restoring the original spatial attitude of nonoriented geological cores on the ground was proposed based on the inherent "trajectory projection consistency" relationship between the borehole and the corresponding core. A prototype machine of core ground reorientation was developed. Using this method and machine, ground reorientation was performed on cores drilled from the deepest shaft in China. Subsequently, the reoriented core acoustic emission (AE) method was conducted to identify the in situ stress within the project area. Meanwhile, measurement accuracy was verified by the stress relief method. The results show that the in situ stress distributions, including the azimuth and the trends in principal stresses by the two methods, are in good agreement and indicate that the historical maximum principal stress in the case of the mine has little abrupt variability with that of the present day. Background: Sleep can function as a potential modifiable risk factor in the control and prevention of stroke. Geography significantly influences sleep patterns. The association of sleep with stroke in population of Southwest China has not so far been investigated. Methods: A total of 55,001 residents aged from 30 to 79 years in Southwest China were included in this study, obtaining their complete information of baseline survey and follow-up in China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB). Sleep-evaluating score was constructed on the basis of short/long sleep duration, insomnia, and snoring. The multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression was used to analyze the association between sleep behaviors and stroke. Results: During 11.15 years of follow-up, 3410 stroke cases (572.78 cases/100,000 person-years) were documented. There exists no association of sleep-evaluating score with the risk of stroke in the total population. Male-predisposing association between sleep-evaluating score and risk of stroke was observed (for total stroke, HR = 1.52, 95% CI: 1.03–2.23; for hemorrhagic stroke, HR = 2.31, 95% CI: 1.22–4.34), with anisotropism in male residents with overweight and obesity (HR = 1.93, 95% CI: 1.03–3.63), and those without hypertension (HR = 1.76, 95% CI: 1.01–3.07) in the baseline survey. Conclusions: There exists the male-predisposing association between sleep-evaluating score and the risk of stroke in Southwest China. Improving sleep is required for reducing the risk of stroke. Objectives: To compare the efficacy of the various wavelengths of low-level light therapy (LLLT) in alleviating knee pain, dysfunction, and stiffness in patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA), and to compare the effectiveness of LLLT versus sham treatment in reducing knee pain, dysfunction, and stiffness. Methods: PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library were searched from inception to 12 December 2023. Randomized controlled trials that assessed the effects of different wavelengths of LLLT on alleviating pain of patients with KOA were included. A conventional meta-analysis and network meta-analysis were preformed, and standardized mean differences (SMD) with 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated. Results: Thirteen studies involving 673 participants with KOA met inclusion criteria. Overall, LLLT was superior to sham LLLT for relieving pain (SMD = 0.96, 95% CI 0.31–1.61) but not for improving function (SMD = 0.21, 95% CI − 0.11 to 0.53) or stiffness (SMD = 0.07, 95% CI − 0.25 to 0.39). Surface under the cumulative ranking curve (SUCRA) value ranking showed the most effective wavelength of LLLT in reducing KOA pain was 904–905 nm (SUCRA, 86.90%), followed by multi-wavelengths (MWL) (SUCRA, 56.43%) and 785–850 nm (SUCRA, 54.97%). Compared to sham LLLT, L2 (SMD = 1.42, 95% CI = 0.31–2.53) and L1 (SMD = 0.82; 95% CI = 0.11–1.50) showed a significant reduction in KOA pain. However, MWL (SMD = 0.83; 95% CI = − 0.06 to 1.72) showed similar KOA pain reduction compared to sham LLLT. The certainty of evidence showed that the quality of evidence regarding the effectiveness of overall LLLT versus sham, and 904–905 nm versus sham were low, while the quality of evidence for MWL versus sham, and 785–850 nm versus sham was very low. Conclusion: While the 904–905 nm wavelength showed potential benefits in reducing KOA pain, the overall quality of the evidence was low. LLLT with 904–905 nm or 785–850 nm wavelengths yielded significantly better reduction in KOA pain compared to sham LLLT, but further high-quality research is warranted to validate these findings. The rapid growth of offshore wind farms (OWFs) is driven by concerns for energy security and climate change mitigation. However, their impact on marine environments remains poorly understood due to limited research. This study analyzes the effects of an OWF along China's Jiangsu Coast on seawater quality using data from different development phases. Results show the major pollutants were different across phases. Heavy metal pollution reached alert levels during construction compared to the safe levels observed in the pre-construction and operational phases, mainly due to increases in Pb, Cd, and Hg concentrations. Eutrophication was mild throughout all periods but exhibited a continuous decrease, primarily attributed to reductions in PH and COD concentrations. As a result, the comprehensive pollution level during construction was increased, but it was improved to a clean level during the operational phase. Besides, significant variations were observed in the spatial distribution patterns of major pollutant indices across different scenarios. These changes may stem from a combination effect of land-based pollution, aquaculture, OWF-induced disturbances to atmosphere and hydrodynamics, OWF-related drain and leakage contamination, and marine management policies. In 2010, Chinaʼs government promulgated policies that, within a decade, saw early childhood education universalised across China. In this mixed‐method study, we examine how a preschool advocacy coalition convinced the government to embrace these policies at a time when China was classified as a low and middle‐income country by the World Bank. We posit that, in large part, this was because advocates combined both moral and economic development arguments and, by so doing, built a coalition that included educators, parents and actors with the influence and political skills required to provide coordinated leadership and governance. Background: In China, retail pharmacies are critical sources for obtaining medications and play a vital role in residents' daily access to drugs and treatment of common illnesses. Effectively guiding the placement of these pharmacies in areas of need through government regulation is crucial for enhancing medication access. In this study, we used population and retail pharmacy spatial distribution data from Shanghai to design guidance and supplementary methods for optimizing the spatial layout of retail pharmacies and medical insurance designated pharmacies based on regional characteristics. Methods: Population distribution, road traffic network, administrative division and retail pharmacy data from Shanghai in 2018 were collected from relevant government departments. ArcGIS 10.3 was used to map the retail pharmacies and population distribution. Based on the spatial distribution of population and the service standards of pharmacies, service circles with insufficient pharmacies were identified, and supplementary methods for retail pharmacies and medical insurance designated pharmacies were developed. Results: In 2018, Shanghai had 3009 retail pharmacies, each serving an average of 6412 residents. The city was divided into 2188 basic pharmaceutical service circles, each within a 15-minute walking distance. The results indicated that there were 1387 service circles without any pharmacies, 151 of which had populations exceeding 5000. Additionally, 356 service circles had pharmacies but lacked medical insurance designated ones. After supplementation, 841 retail pharmacies were planned to be added in residential areas. Compared with before, the coverage area and population served of the pharmacies increased significantly. Conclusions: This study mapped the spatial distribution of population and retail pharmacies in Shanghai, and designed government guidance and supplementary methods for optimizing the layout of retail pharmacies. The findings offer valuable insights for government agencies in low- and middle-income countries to improve the spatial distribution of retail pharmacies. Highlights: 1. An obvious long‐term drying trend in recent early springs (February–March–April) is observed over southeastern China (SEC). Here, we attribute this drying to the weakened subtropical westerlies and deflected by the Tibetan Plateau (TP). Climatologically, the low‐level southwesterlies at the southeastern margin of the TP, a branch of the upstream subtropical westerly jet deflected by the TP terrain, bring water vapor to SEC and the southerlies move upward over SEC mainly through isentropic gliding mechanism, inducing persistent precipitation in early spring. However, the subtropical westerlies weakened significantly in recent decades due potentially to the decreased Eurasian snow cover. Consequently, an easterly trend appears along the southern margin of the TP with anomalous northeasterlies over SEC. These northeasterlies suppress both moisture supply and upward motions over SEC, and reduce regional early spring precipitation. Our results highlight the interaction between the TP terrain and the weakened subtropical westerlies that leads to the drying SEC. Plain Language Summary: Spring precipitation in southeastern China (SEC) is a major rainband during the pre‐flood season in East Asia, which is significant for agricultural production and social economy. However, in the recent few decades, a robust long‐term drying trend has occurred over SEC in early spring. In this study, we propose a new mechanism for the decreased SEC precipitation and highlight the important influence of the weakened subtropical westerlies and their interaction with the Tibetan Plateau (TP). Deflected by the TP large terrain, the upstream weakened subtropical westerlies induce weakened westerlies and southwesterlies along the southern and southeastern margins of the TP, respectively. As a result, the weakened southwesterlies at the southeastern TP not only reduce the moisture transport downstream, but also suppress the ascending motions over SEC through the isentropic gliding mechanism. Both the water vapor and atmospheric circulation conditions finally induce the drying SEC in recent early springs. This study conducts a Multimodal Critical Discourse Analysis guided content analysis of 56 Chinese government-sponsored poverty reduction posters across three historical stages since the founding of the People's Republic of China to understand visual strategies, represented participants, and thematic shifts. Initially, visual strategies focus on action-oriented, collective agricultural activities. Over time, they shift to highlighting technological advancements and individual achievements, using "offer" images and various perspectives to engage viewers. Early posters predominantly feature peasants and collective groups, later expanding to include individuals and technological symbols, reflecting China's socio-economic reforms. The thematic shifts move from collective efforts to targeted, locally-tailored strategies and the principle of "teaching people to fish," mirroring broader socio-political transformations. This evolution underscores the role of visual media in shaping public understanding and garnering support for national policies. By highlighting the dynamic interaction between visual elements and socio-political contexts, the study reveals how government-sponsored media has adapted to effectively communicate the progress and objectives of China's poverty alleviation efforts. Background: Persistent infection with high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) plays a key role in the onset of cervical cancer. This study was designed to examine the epidemiological trends and genotype distribution of HPV from 2014 to 2023 in the plateau region of Southwest China. Methods: The findings could offer valuable insights for clinical screening of cervical cancer and the formulation of HPV vaccination policies. This retrospective study analyzed 66,000 women who received HPV-DNA testing at the First People's Hospital of Qujing, Yunnan, China, between 2014 and 2023. The cohort consisted of 33,512 outpatients, 3,816 inpatients, and 28,672 individuals undergoing health examinations. Cervical cells were collected for DNA extraction, and PCR amplification along with Luminex xMAP technology were used to detect 27 HPV genotypes. The data analysis was conducted using GraphPad Prism and IBM SPSS Statistics 27 software. Results: The overall HPV infection rate at the First People's Hospital of Qujing declined from 24.92% in 2014 to 16.29% in 2023, averaging 16.02%. Specific infection rates were 18.50% among outpatients, 12.97% among inpatients, and 13.53% for health examination attendees. The predominant high-risk HPV genotypes identified were HPV52 (2.61%), HPV16 (2.06%), HPV58 (1.81%), HPV53 (1.55%), and HPV39 (1.09%). Meanwhile, the most frequent low-risk HPV genotypes were HPV6 (1.30%), HPV61 (1.21%), and HPV11 (0.85%). In HPV-positive cases, the distribution of single, double, triple, and quadruple or more infections were 79.90%, 15.17%, 3.59%, and 1.33%, respectively. The proportions of pure LR-HPV, pure HR-HPV, and mixed infections were 22.16%, 67.82%, and 10.02%, respectively. Age-specific analysis revealed a bimodal distribution of HPV infection, with the infection rate rapidly decreasing from 44.02% in the ≤ 19 age group to 19.55% in the 20–29 age group and 13.84% in the 30–39 age group, followed by a gradual increase to 14.64% in the 40–49 age group, 16.65% in the 50–59 age group, and 22.98% in the ≥ 60 age group. The coverage rates of the three available vaccines are all below 50%. The results of this study indicated a declining trend in HPV prevalence in the plateau region of Southwest China over the period from 2014 to 2023, especially in the reduction of genotypes targeted by vaccines. Conclusion: There were significant variations in the genotypes prevalent among different age groups, years, and patient sources within the same region. The underwhelming vaccination rates emphasize the critical need for developing either a multivalent vaccine or a personalized vaccine that targets the HPV genotypes common in the Chinese population. Myricaria laxiflora , which grows along the Yangtze River in China, holds ornamental, ecological, and medicinal value. However, its wild population is threatened and currently designated protected as a national priority. The present research was the first to sequence and assemble M. laxiflora's mitochondrial genome and examine its structural characteristics and phylogenetic relationships with other sequenced Caryophyllales species. The mitochondrial double-stranded closed-ring genome of M. laxiflora was found to be 389,949 bp in length, containing numerous repetitive sequences and RNA editing sites, with 34 protein encoding, 21 tRNA, and 3 rRNA genes. Although there are 22 fragments in the mitochondrial genome of M. laxiflora that are homologous to its chloroplast genome, they are incomplete gene fragments. Phylogenetic analysis demonstrated evolutionary associations with related populations and was in agreement with findings on the chloroplast genome. These findings not only lay a foundation for its preservation but also offer valuable insights for evolutionary analysis and plant breeding research. The Annual Report on Cardiovascular Health and Diseases in China (2022) intricate landscape of cardiovascular health in China. In connection with the previous section, this eighth section of the report offers a comprehensive analysis of pulmonary embolism and deep venous thrombosis. In recent years, research in the field of pulmonary vessel in China has made great progress. A number of nationwide multi-center registry research results have filled the gaps in the epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension and venous thromboembolism. Different types of pulmonary hypertension still need attention to the identification of risk factors and/or risk stratification, and venous thromboembolism needs attention in the prevention and the overall management inside and outside hospital. In the future, we look forward to the publication of more high-quality research in China, which could be able to improve relevant guidelines for pulmonary vascular diseases both domestically and internationally. Biographical narratives generate a continuous sense of political community across the state's past, present and future, and provide the state with ontological security. Building on growing International Relations scholarship that highlights the power of visuals in shaping global politics, our article proposes visual rhetorical analysis as a tool to interrogate how governments employ images to tell their biographical narratives. The rhetorical approach transcends the methodological divide in the current 'visual turn' literature between the cognitive psychological and poststructuralist perspectives. We illustrate the analytical value of the rhetorical approach through an empirical study of how the totalitarian regimes of China and North Korea communicate their biographical narratives – the 'rightful great power' narrative and the 'family state' narrative, respectively – through propaganda imagery of their leaders. In order to understand the fire hazard of combustible materials used in the China's high-speed train, pyrolysis behaviors of four typical seat cushion materials, including seat cushion fabric for first-class seats (SCFI), seat cushion fabric for second-class seats (SCFII), seat cushion foam (SCFO) and fire resisting blanket (FRB), were investigated based on the thermogravimetric (TG) analysis. TG experiments were conducted in wide heating rates from 5 to 40 K min under nitrogen atmosphere, and kinetic parameters were estimated based on Kissinger method. Only one reaction appeared in the whole SCFI and SCFII pyrolysis process while two reactions for SCFO and FRB. All the materials can be fully decomposed when the temperature increases to 1060 K, except FRB, with more than 40% of the sample mass left in the crucible. What is more, the maximum mass loss rates of FRB at the three heating rates are much lower than that of the other three materials. Values of E for the reaction of SCFI, SCFII, the first and second reaction of SCFO and the second reaction of FRB are roughly at the same level (189, 182, 206, 185 and 195 kJ mol, respectively). The first reaction of FRB has much lower values of E and A, which shows that the first reaction of FRB is relatively easy to be triggered. But once it reacts, a slower reaction rate happens. To overcome the problems existing in the application of the traditional stability control method of the surrounding rock of deep shafts, in this paper, a stability control method for the surrounding rock of deep shafts is presented based on the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM) and the Norwegian Method of Tunnelling (NMT), and a support design method of deep shafts is also proposed. In addition, taking a deep shaft construction project as an example, the support design process of a deep shaft is presented: the engineering geology and in situ stress of the deep shaft are collected and processed to evaluate the rock mass quality with the Q-system, rock mass rating (RMR), and geological strength index (GSI). The strength and deformation parameters of the intact rock are obtained via laboratory tests, and the rock mass mechanical parameters are calculated using the generalized Hoek–Brown method. Then, a variety of support design methods based on rock mass classification systems are applied to determine the primary and permanent support, and the support time is obtained on the basis of a convergence-confinement analysis and engineering experience. A two-dimensional plane-strain model is constructed to analyze and evaluate the safety of the proposed support system, incorporating the major geological discontinuities and non-hydrostatic in situ stress state prior to excavation. Background: The rising prevalence of Type 2 diabetes (T2D) in China poses a critical health challenge, necessitating effective management strategies. The National Essential Public Health Services Program (NEPHSP), initiated in 2009, focuses on equitable access to health services, including T2D management. This study investigates the associations between perceived care quality, self-care behaviors, and glycemic control in Chinese adults with T2D under NEPHSP, particularly examining the mediating role of self-care behaviors. Methods: Conducted from April to November 2020 in Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province, this study involved 1,577 T2D patients enrolled in NEPHSP. We assessed perceived care quality using the Patient Assessment of Chronic Illness Care (PACIC) scale and developed a comprehensive self-care behavior score, covering nine essential health practices. Glycemic control was evaluated using HbA1c levels. Linear regression models were used to explore these associations, adjusting for demographic and clinical factors, while causal mediation analyses examined the role of intermediate variables. Results: Higher PACIC scores significantly correlated with improved self-care behaviors (β = 0.294, 95% CI: 0.233 to 0.354) and were negatively associated with HbA1c levels (β=-0.109, 95% CI: -0.192 to -0.026). The self-care behavior score inversely related to HbA1c levels (β=-0.197, 95% CI: -0.263 to -0.132). Notably, self-care behaviors mediated 50.41% (P < 0.05) of the effect of perceived care quality on HbA1c levels. Conclusions: This study demonstrates a substantial association between perceived care quality and better glycemic control in Chinese adults with T2D under NEPHSP, with self-care behaviors playing a crucial mediating role. Background: The parasitic protozoan Giardia duodenalis is an important cause of diarrheal disease in humans and animals that can be spread by fecal–oral transmission through water and the environment, posing a challenge to public health and animal husbandry. Little is known about its impact on large-scale sheep farms in China. In this study we investigated G. duodenalis infection of sheep and contamination of the environment in large-scale sheep farms in two regions of China, Henan and Ningxia. Methods: A total of 528 fecal samples, 402 environmental samples and 30 water samples were collected from seven large-scale sheep farms, and 88 fecal samples and 13 environmental samples were collected from 12 backyard farms. The presence of G. duodenalis was detected by targeting the β-giardin (bg) gene, and the assemblage and multilocus genotype of G. duodenalis were investigated by analyzing three genes: bg, glutamate dehydrogenase (gdh) and triphosphate isomerase (tpi). Results: The overall G. duodenalis detection rate was 7.8%, 1.4% and 23.3% in fecal, environmental and water samples, respectively. On the large-scale sheep farms tested, the infection rate of sheep in Henan (13.8%) was found to be significantly higher than that of sheep in Ningxia (4.2%) (P < 0.05). However, the difference between the rates of environmental pollution in Henan (1.9%) and Ningxia (1.0%) was not significant (P > 0.05). Investigations of sheep at different physiological stages revealed that late pregnancy ewes showed the lowest infection rate (1.7%) and that young lambs exhibited the highest (18.8%). Genetic analysis identified G. duodenalis belonging to two assemblages, A and E, with assemblage E being dominant. A total of 27 multilocus genotypes were identified for members of assemblage E. Conclusions: The results suggest that G. duodenalis is prevalent on large-scale sheep farms in Henan and Ningxia, China, and that there is a risk of environmental contamination. This study is the first comprehensive examination of the presence of G. duodenalis on large-scale sheep farms in China. Background: The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has accentuated the need for effective clinical skills training in infectious diseases. This study aimed to explore the influencing factors of infectious disease clinical skills training based on scenario simulation teaching for medical staff in China. Methods: This hospital-based, cross-sectional study was conducted at the Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen between March and December 2022. Scenario simulation teaching was applied, and factors such as gender, educational level, professional background, and previous experience were examined to determine their impact on qualification outcomes. Results: The study included participants primarily between the ages of 20–40 years, with a higher proportion of women holding university degrees. Nurses and physicians were more likely to qualify, indicating the significance of professional backgrounds. Women showed a higher likelihood of qualifying than men and higher educational attainment correlated with better qualification rates. Prior experience with protective clothing in isolation wards was a significant determinant of successful qualification. Multivariate analysis underscored the influence of sex, education, and previous experience on training effectiveness. Conclusion: Scenario simulation is an effective strategy for training clinical skills in treating infectious diseases. This study highlights the importance of considering sex, education, professional background, and prior experience when designing training programs to enhance the efficacy and relevance of infectious disease training. The BeiDou Global Navigation Satellite System (BDS-3) provides real-time precise point positioning (PPP) service via B2b signals, offering real-time decimeter-level positioning for users in China and surrounding areas. However, common interruptions and outliers in PPP-B2b services arise due to factors such as the Geostationary Orbit (GEO) satellite "south wall effect", Issue of Data (IOD) matching errors, and PPP-B2b signal broadcast priorities, posing challenges to continuous high-precision positioning. This study meticulously examines the completeness, continuity, and jumps in PPP-B2b orbit and clock correction using extensive observational data. Based on this analysis, a two-step method for detecting outliers in PPP-B2b orbit and clock corrections is devised, leveraging epoch differences and median absolute deviation. Subsequently, distinct prediction methods are developed for BDS-3 and GPS orbit and clock corrections. Results from simulated and real-time dynamic positioning experiments indicate that predicted corrections can maintain the same accuracy as normal correction values for up to 10 min and sustain decimeter-level positioning accuracy within 30 min. The adoption of predicted correction values significantly enhances the duration of sustaining real-time PPP during signal interruptions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

How do constitutions change in response to social problems? This Article explores why constitutions in three East Asian countries, namely Japan, Indonesia, and China, changed rapidly during times of social crisis and then incrementally evolved during periods of stability. It looks for explanations in historical institutionalism, a novel theory developed to understand the factors that give rise to the creation, persistence, and change of political institutions, such as constitutions. Constitutional change in these East Asian countries is explored by examining constitutionally defined eminent domain powers that enable governments to compulsorily acquire land in the public interest. The Article aims to understand whether fundamental constitutional change only occurs through crisis or whether it can also take place gradually by layering new ideational components onto old programmatic ideas, repurposing them to new uses. Drawing on case studies about eminent domain in Japan, Indonesia and China, the Article concludes that although crisis can trigger fundamental change in any political system, incremental reforms are more likely to promote fundamental change where governments are accountable to the public through constitutional courts and/or democratic elections. Background/Aims: Low educational attainment is a well-established risk factor for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in developed areas. However, the association between educational attainment and the risk of NAFLD is less clear in China. Methods: A cross-sectional study including over 200,000 Chinese adults across mainland China was conducted. Information on education level and lifestyle factors were obtained through standard questionnaires, while NAFLD and advanced fibrosis were diagnosed using validated formulas. Outcomes included the risk of NAFLD in the general population and high probability of fibrosis among patients with NAFLD. Logistic regression analysis was employed to estimate the risk of NAFLD and fibrosis across education levels. A causal mediation model was used to explore the potential mediators. Results: Comparing with those receiving primary school education, the multi-adjusted odds ratios (95% confidence intervals) for NAFLD were 1.28 (1.16 to 1.41) for men and 0.94 (0.89 to 0.99) for women with college education after accounting for body mass index. When considering waist circumference, the odds ratios (95% CIs) were 0.94 (0.86 to 1.04) for men and 0.88 (0.80 to 0.97) for women, respectively. The proportions mediated by general and central obesity were 51.00% and 68.04% for men, while for women the proportions were 48.58% and 32.58%, respectively. Furthermore, NAFLD patients with lower educational attainment showed an incremental increased risk of advanced fibrosis in both genders. As a result of globalization, Chinese young adults who transit to adulthood currently are being exposed to a combination of traditional Chinese values such as collectivism and Confucian philosophy, as well as Western individualism. We analyzed the trends in depression prevalence within an 8-year period using panel data derived from young adults in China. The investigation further delved into the multifaceted correlates of depression, including demographic profiles, health-related parameters, and consequential life events. Data were obtained from five cycles, 2010 to 2018, of the China Family Panel Studies (CFPS). Participants included adults aged 18 to 24 years (total analytic sample N = 15,442). Depression symptoms increased in prevalence in Chinese young adults over the eight years; therefore, depression screening should be regularly conducted in this demographic. This study highlights the issue's gravity and suggests potential correlations with cultural, regional economic development level, gender, religion, hukou (household registration), lifestyle, chronic health conditions, on-going school attendance, and marital factors. Objectives: To investigate risk factors for severe maternal morbidity (SMM) in pregnant women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) and to develop a risk prediction model. Methods: A prospective observational cohort study was conducted among pregnant women who were hospitalized for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) between January 2016 and December 2020 in Fujian College of Clinical Medicine for Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatrics, Fujian Province, China (a training set), and a risk predictive model was constructed. Pregnant women with HDP who were hospitalized between January 2021 and December 2021 were selected as a validation set. Concordance index (C-index) and calibration curves were used to test predictive model discrimination and calibration. Results: We included 970 pregnant women (790 in the training set and 180 in the validation set). Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression was used to screen for nine related variables such as intra-uterine growth retardation (IUGR), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and systolic blood pressure (SBP) at suspected diagnosis, total bilirubin, albumin (ALB), uric acid, total cholesterol, serum magnesium, and suspected gestational age. SBP at suspected diagnosis (OR =1.22, 95%CI:1.08-1.42) and total cholesterol (OR = 1.78, 95% CI:1.17-2.80) were independent risk factors of severe maternal morbidity in pregnant women with HDP. A nomogram was constructed, and internal validation of the nomogram model was done using the bootstrap self-sampling method. C-index in the training and the validation set was 0.798 and 0.909, respectively. Conclusion: Our prediction model can be used to determine gestational hypertension severity in pregnant women. Exploring the bacterial community in the S. glauca rhizosphere was of great value for understanding how this species adapted to the salinealkali environment and for the rational development and use of saline-alkali soils. In this study, high-throughput sequencing technology was used to investigate the diversity characteristics and distribution patterns of soil bacterial communities in the rhizosphere of S.glauca-dominated communities in the Hetao Irrigation Distract, Inner Mongolia, China. The relationships among bacterial characteristics, soil physicochemical properties and vegetation in four sampling sites were analyzed. The soil bacterial communities in the rhizosphere of S. glauca-dominated communities were mainly composed of 16 phyla (i.e., Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Gemmatimonadetes, Chloroflexi, Acidobacteria, Firmicutes, Planctomycetes, Deinococcus-Thermus, Verrucomicrobia, Saccharibacteria, Cyanobacteria, Nitrospirae, JL-ETNP-Z39, Parcubacteria and Chlorobi), and these populations accounted for more than 99% of the total bacterial community. At the genus level, the main bacterial communities comprised Halomonas, Nitriliruptor, Euzebya and Pelagibius, which accounted for 15.70% of the total bacterial community. An alpha diversity analysis indicated that the richness and diversity of rhizosphere soil bacteria differed significantly among the sampling sites, and the bacterial richness and diversity indices of severe saline-alkali land were higher than those of light and moderate saline-alkali land. The principal component analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis effect size (LEfSe) showed significant differences in the species composition of the rhizosphere soil bacterial community among different sampling sites. A correlation analysis showed that the number of bacterial species exhibited the highest correlation with the soil water content (SWC). The richness and evenness indices were significantly correlated with the SWC and SO42-, KC and Mg2+ concentrations. The electrical conductivity (EC), soluble ions (NaC, CO32- + HCO3-, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, and SO42+), SWC and vegetation coverage (VC) were the main drivers affecting the changes in its community structure. The bacterial community in the rhizosphere of S. glauca enhanced the adaptability of S. glauca to saline-alkali environment by participating in the cycling process of nutrient elements, the decomposition of organic matter and the production of plant growth regulating substances.
