The article examines gender differences in attitude toward corruption and engaging in corrupt practices and culture of community exchanges in Central Asia. It discusses relationships, rituals, and customary laws that effect community exchange, act of gift giving and reciprocity in Central Asia. It discusses correlation between gender and corruption, stating prediction of fewer incidences of corruption with women participation in public life. It also discusses ethnographic study of corruption in the Ukraine offering insight on economic transactions of gifts and its pigeonholing of bribery or corruption.
