Abstract

The article reports that Sears Canada Inc. has lost its bids to force suppliers of Dior and Givenchy cosmetics to keep supplying the firm in Canada. The changes occurred when the Competition Tribunal denied that it leave to bring an application under the Competition Act's refusal to deal provision in March 2007. Sears sells Dior and Givenchy as part of its prestige fragrances and cosmetics departments, however it claims that impact of the loss of the two brands will not be substantial.
