Pre- and post-tenure faculty face immense pressure to meet professional expectations and requirements from their colleagues and disciplines. Faculty involved in community-campus engagement (CCE) for social change face additional demands to maintain relationships and continue their interventions. We present a collective autoethnography from a Canadian context reflecting on experiences as CCE faculty at various stages of tenure and promotion (T&P). We draw from our efforts working together on a pan-Canadian CCE research project, Community First: Impacts of Community Engagement (CFICE). From these experiences, we identify tensions within T&P processes and argue the need for highly contextualized narratives when faculty present their collaborative efforts, research processes with community partners, and community impact in their multiple faculty roles. From these kinds of narratives, the intra- and inter-institutional gaps, connections and spaces become clearer, especially for tenured and increasingly senior faculty, to support culture change at the institutional level, thereby increasing the value and recognition of CCE.

This study explored the experiences of former first-year students who had been institutionally dismissed from an undergraduate health program in a large Canadian university. Using a qualitative narrative inquiry, 20 individual interviews were conducted with 10 former students. Challenges connecting with faculty, large classes, and academic under-preparedness contributed to these commuter students' involuntary departure. The university's student support resources were under-utilized. Lessons learned have emphasized the role that an institution has in supporting its students.

This research explores the various ways in which performative inquiry was implemented in a graduate organizational theories course within an educational leadership cohort at a medium-sized urban Canadian research university. Drawing on Fink's framework for significant learning experiences, the researchers used performative inquiry to enact the "Practice" and "Reflection" domains of his pedagogical model. The data show that as the course unfolded, the class experienced a shift from instructor-centered transmission of information to a curriculum co-constructed by students and instructors. We conclude with ways in which educational leadership professors can incorporate performative inquiry as a teaching strategy to enhance the learning process for aspiring educational leaders.

Among 86 Indian and non-Indian volleyball competitors, non-Indian players indicated significantly greater preferences for leadership that involved democratic behavior, autocratic behavior, or social support. Indians may adapt their behavior by participating in non-Indian games, without changing their traditional value orientations. Contains 22 references. (SV)
