Abstract

The author highlights the achievements made by the Canadian Dental Association (CDA) in 1998. He says that CDA has lobbied the House of Commons Standing Committee to reject the proposed taxation of dental plan premiums which influenced Finance minister Paul Martin to withdrew it. It also advocates mandatory immunization and testing of medical care personnel to avoid the transmission of blood borne pathogens to their patients. He also expresses gratitude to CDA members for allowing him to take part in the achievements as its president.
