The author discusses recommendations of the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care on screening for breast cancer in average-risk women aging 40-74 years old. He is critical that the suggestions on mammography screening are more conservative compared with the change in policy proposed by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force in 2009. He mentions that the best method to reduce the occurrence of breast cancer is to cease the screening program.
