- Abstract
The last in a series of eight reports on mental retardation in a Canadian province presented statistical data on raw scores for the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC), the Vineland Social Maturity Scale (SMS), and the Draw-A-Person (DAP) test by age/sex categories as administered for the study. Isolation of subsamples of the mentally retarded as well as samples of subjects having higher psychometric, conceptual and social maturity scores was said to require identification of subjects by standard deviation ranges from means of age/sex groups for raw scores on the WISC, SMS, and DAP. Designations for units, each of which had a standard deviation range of .5, were said to be synonymous with data card punches. Statistical recording procedures used permitted coding from greater than five standard deviation to less than negative five standard deviation.
