Abstract

The article focuses on the approach of Port of Oakland in Oakland, California towards the implementation of Governmental Accounting Standards Board Statement No. 49 (GASB 49). It notes that the Financial Services Division formed a team composed of persons knowledgeable on port's polluted sites, clean cost estimation, and insurance claims and settlements. The implementation of GASB49 includes a report preparation on the condition of polluted properties, which has been distributed to the team.
