The article reports on the fall council and annual meeting of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in Palm Desert, California. Ronald Cohen, AICPA board chair, urged that it should be the goal of every CPA to attract talented people to the profession. Cohen plans to push for passage of tort reform legislation and for the passage of workload compression relief to eliminate the image of the profession as a sweatshop.
