The article describes what happens to a person who dies in Los Angeles, California. It is asserted that African-American and Latino males under 75 years old are more likely to die of homicide than any other cause. The dead are tagged and covered with a plastic shroud before being brought to the morgue. The Los Angeles County Department of Coroner investigates deaths suspected to be due to causes other than natural.
