Background and Objectives: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a prevalent sleep-disordered breathing pathology with significant clinical consequences, including increased cardiovascular risk and cognitive decline. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is the gold-standard treatment, but alternative strategies are sometimes needed for patients intolerant to CPAP. Drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE) is a key diagnostic tool for assessing upper airway obstruction in OSA patients and subsequently tailoring a surgical approach, with sedation protocols playing a crucial role in its efficacy and results accuracy. This study aimed to investigate the effect of adding remifentanil to a propofol target-controlled infusion (TCI) regimen on the sedation parameters and procedural outcomes of DISE. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted at the Central University and Emergency Military Hospital "Dr. Carol Davila" and Ria Clinic in Bucharest between July 2021 and October 2023. Thirty-one patients were enrolled and randomised into two groups: a propofol group (P group, n= 11) and a remifentanil-propofol group (R-P group, n = 20). DISE was performed using standardised protocols, sedative drugs were administered in TCI mode, and data on sedation levels, respiratory and cardiovascular parameters, and procedural incidents were collected. Results: The addition of remifentanil at 1 ng/mL effect-site concentration significantly reduced the effect-site concentration of propofol required for adequate sedation (3.4 ± 0.7 µg/mL in the P group vs. 2.8 ± 0.6 µg/mL in the R-P group, p = 0.035). The time to achieve adequate sedation was also shorter in the R-P group (7.1 ± 2.5 min vs. 9.5 ± 2.7 min, p = 0.017). The incidence of cough, hypoxemia, and cardiovascular events did not significantly differ between the two groups. Conclusions: Adding remifentanil to a propofol TCI regimen for DISE effectively reduces the required propofol effect-site concentration and shortens sedation time without increasing the risk of adverse events. The paper presents data related to the evolution during 2021-2022, of three chokeberry Aronia varieties, grown organically in the farm belonging to FRDS Băneasa, located in N-E of Bucharest in Afumați, Ilfov County, in the Vlasiei Plain, a subunit of the Roman Plain. Aronia melanocarpa, is a crop that issuitable for organic system, and the importance of fruits is given by the fact that it has special nutraceutical qualities, mainly due to the high contain of anthocyanins and flavonoids among other important substances that can reduce the risk of serious illness. The study was continued on a plantation established in 2020. The chokeberry varieties under observations were: 'Melrom', 'Nero' and 'Galicjanka'. Planting distances 1.5 m/3 m, in 2 variants, plants canopy conducted as bush. In 2022, number of shoots and inflorescences per plant, shoots length and the number of fruits per inflorescence were counted. Also, fruit weight, size, sugar content, pH and citric acid for each variety was determined and compared to the 2021 results. Featured Application: Practical engineers should gain confidence in base isolation as an alternative to stiffening, a possible design approach for new as well as for existing buildings even under rare seismic conditions (in large corner period areas and for pulse-type seismic records). This article presents the structural benefits of curved surface sliders on a specific, existing building application. Moreover, authorities should be encouraged by the information included in this article, to emphasize alternatives to the stiffening design approach even under such special seismic conditions. Southern Romania is a geographic region with alluvial deposits. This soil type leads to rather long corner periods and provides as a particularity of the response spectrum an enlarged plateau. These conditions produce large displacement demands. Moreover, pulse-type ground acceleration records make this seismic area more unique. Research on the seismic behaviour of structures built under such unusual conditions is limited and Romanian engineers are not confident to apply alternative solutions such as base isolation. Although capacity design is still the regular design method applied in Romania, modern base isolation solutions may overcome the large displacement demand expectation produced by seismic events and fulfil immediate occupancy requirements. This study presents the seismic performance of an existing hospital from Bucharest, for which two seismic design solutions were applied: (i) classical approach based on capacity design and (ii) base isolation. Long-term series of solar irradiation measured at ground level are not available in the old times. However, long-term series of actinometric degree data obtained by using the Arago-Davy instrument have been recorded in the second half of the 19th century in several locations of the world. We have developed recently a method to estimate global solar irradiance on horizontal surface from actinometric degree data (doi.org/10.1007/s00704-023-04485-2). This opens a way of finding proxy information about the incident solar irradiance on various areas of the globe before the 20th century. Hourly actinometric degree data for the years 1892–1903 are available at the Filaret Observatory (Bucharest, Romania, South-Eastern Europe). The observed series have a systematic decreasing tendency, which has been removed by using a correction procedure. The proposed method is used here to evaluate solar global irradiance at Filaret Observatory. Solar irradiance data provided by the Twentieth Century Reanalysis Project version 3 (20CRv3) are used as a reference. The expected hourly and daily average solar irradiance values show reasonable qualitative consistency with the 20CRv3 data. This consistency is notably stronger during the warmer months from April to September. Much better agreement is found for the monthly averaged solar global irradiance values. At this level, the proposed method and the procedure of the 20CRv3 project seem to validate each other. • Development of a method to estimate global solar irradiance from actinometric data recorded in the 19th century. • Evaluation of the reconstructed global solar radiation shows resonable agreement with the 20th Century Reanalysis (20CRv3). • The proposed method enables the reconstruction of solar irradiance data for the 19th century in other locations where actinometric data is available. Introduction. According to the actual guidelines, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is the election treatment for large renal stones. The high prevalence associated with high recurrences increases the risk of re-intervention. This study aims to compare the results and complications among previously operated patients and those attempting first intervention. Materials and Methods. This is a retrospective study on 99 cases who underwent PCNL from 1 October 2017 to 30 November 2018 at Prof. Dr. Theodor Burghele Clinical Hospital, Bucharest. Patients were divided into three groups: first-time procedure (Group 1), previous PCNL (Group 2), and open surgical intervention on the ipsilateral side (Group 3). Staghorn calculi were primarily excluded for obtaining similar comparative characteristics. Results. After analyzing the demographic data and preoperative imagistic evaluations, the results were comparable between the three groups. For those included in Groups 2 and 3, mean stone recurrence was 84,6 and 81,2 months. Some slight differences were observed in the number of attempts to access the pyelocaliceal system with an increased number in previously operated patients. Postoperative blood transfusions were almost similarly needed in all groups. One colon perforation conservatively managed was registered in Group 3. Similar data were also noted obtaining the stone-free desiderate. Conclusion. The results are comparable for patients at the first time procedure with those previously operated. On the centenary of the most prestigious medical institution in Romania, today militarized and modernized, we remember with all the due respect and gratitude the great forerunners who founded and developed this unique medical forum for research, education and production for the benefit of the Romanian nation. In the history of the Romanians, however, there remained a general who did not kill anyone, who on the contrary, saved the lives of many thousands of soldiers and millions of civilians. He was Brigadier General (r.) Univ. Prof. Dr. Ioan I. Cantacuzino, the founder of the Institute that bears his name, the current "Cantacuzino" National Medico-Military Institute for Research and Development, in Bucharest. During the Second Balkan War he coordinated the activity of combating the epidemics of typhoid fever and Asian cholera in the Romanian military personnel during the Bulgarian campaign. In 1913 he produced large quantities of the anti-cholera vaccine, which he administered en masse to the soldiers campaigning in Bulgaria, in an epidemic environment, the "great Romanian experience", which reduced mortality among the Romanian Army. For his activity in the Great War he was decorated with numerous orders and medals, Romanian and the "Legion of Honor". Professor Ioan Cantacuzino continued his prodigious activity, but in January 1934 he fell ill and died on January 14th, 1934, and will remain for eternity in the crypt of the Institute that bears his name. The global trend is to increase the thermal comfort in all kinds of buildings, residential and non-residential. At the same time, minimization of energy consumption and improved building sustainability must be achieved. Only precise calculations can keep the balance between maximizing comfort and minimizing energy consumption. The PassivHaus (PH) is a special type of building with low heating energy consumption that fulfills special requirements defined by the Passivhaus Institut of Darmstadt, Germany. The PassivHaus concept has been successfully implemented in climates other than that of Germany. However, current practice in Southern European countries shows that PHs may exhibit overheating in the hot season, a phenomenon which is not very often encountered in Germany. Shading devices may be considered in these southern countries to improve the thermal comfort in PHs during summer. A model of the AMVIC PH office building located near Bucharest, Romania, has been developed using Simergy and EnergyPlus software. The model was validated and calibrated using measured data during summer. Measurements have been used to estimate the classical thermal comfort indices such as predicted mean vote and predicted percent of dissatisfied. Simulations have been performed to study the effect on thermal comfort of several shading devices, such as exterior blinds, exterior shades, and overhangs. Exterior blinds and exterior shades are generally more efficient than overhangs when the results are discussed with reference to transmitted solar energy flux through the windows. Adaptive thermal comfort refers to the ability that the occupants of a building have to accustom themselves to specific thermal conditions. The notion of human thermal comfort (HTC) is therefore introduced and defined by a simple mathematical equation. In the evaluation process of actual buildings and in the design of new ones, adaptive HTC equations translate into a substantial reduction in energy consumption and maintenance costs to the buildings. Specialised databases provide adaptive HTC equations that are regarded as standard over large geographical areas. However, in particular climate regions, new adaptive HTC equations have to be established. This paper aims to find an HTC equation specific to the Romanian climate (Köppen climate type D – temperate continental climate). In order to achieve that, a field survey was conducted between 2013 and 2014 in several naturally ventilated buildings (two university buildings from Bucharest, a passive office building and a residential house). SAP Warehouse Management System module is one of the SAP modules, which is highly connected to the Material Management module and is used in companies that use warehouses as a source of material transit. Good warehouse management can be done with this module. In this case study, we will analyze how such a module was implemented in a company operating in the automotive area. It is located in Pitesti and, besides the SAP FI / CO modules, SAP SD, SAP MM has this module installed. The implementation of the SAP system in this company took 2 years and was a successful one, involving a number of 18 Functional consultants (12 seniors and 6 juniors). The technical part was made by the center of competence belonging to the mother company, located in France, in Paris. A series of legislative constraints were reported, a series of discussions stemming from this. A lot of reports were developed by ABAP programmers - allocated for this implementation by the company that made the implementation, the company located in Bucharest. Most issues were encountered in the area of finance - accounting, but also in the WMS area, where restrictions came from the storage area (a small deposit that did not correspond to a detailed organization - as SAP WMS proposes). Due to the fact that what was to be delivered had to be delivered as quickly as possible, even with very many interventions, due to the fact that the business environment was a dynamic one, the solution was changed four times - this assuming a delay of 2 months - for go-live. This delay meant an increase of the budget allocated by 7% - generating many discussions - this was assumed and understood by the management of the company. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Wheat is of particular interest for the Romanian growers because it has high ecological plasticity and ensures relative constant yields. Having into account that the wheat growers are interested in varieties that produce the highest yields with good milling and bakery value, the purpose of this paper is to highlight the yield, yield components and yield quality of nine winter wheat varieties in the conditions of the reddish preluvosoil from the Romanian Plain. In this respect, under the specific climatic conditions of the 2018-2019 agricultural year, nine Romanian and foreign wheat varieties were tested under rainfed conditions on reddish preluvosoil within a field experiment in the Crop Production Didactic Field belonging to the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest. The following determinations were performed: number of ears per m2; number of grains per ear; weight of grains per ear; thousand grain weight - TGW (g); grain yield (kg/ha) reported at 14% moisture content; grain test weight (kg/100 l); protein content (%); wet gluten content (%). The yielding capacity of a given wheat variety, which is determined by the values of the yield component, as well as the yield quality which is determined by several indicators are important traits in making growers to choose the variety to be cultivated. Religious segregation is a process with a very long history, but which has been little analyzed within the Romanian scientific literature. The paper proposes a detailed discussion of how the Armenian community in Bucharest was geographically segregated because of religious reasons by the rest of the Orthodox inhabitants of the city almost five centuries ago. The analysis made by the national and international literature on this subject reveals substantial gaps, with multiple theoretical difficulties in explaining how religious segregation can end up in cultural heritage. Incorporating the urban segregation theory and urban culture, the research proposes an exploratory case study as a conceptual basis for future similar studies. The analyzed data have shown that, in time, due to the expansion of urban space and to certain religious concessions, cities can be the beneficiaries of high-value physical elements with an impact on urban culture, architecture and landscape, all thanks to religious segregation. Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) and the Full Combustion (FC) method followed by isotope separation and liquid scintillation counting (LSC) have been applied for measuring the produced and accumulated 14C in the thermal column of the decommissioned VVR-S reactor in NIPNE Bucharest. The FC method has also been used to measure the tritium (3H) deposition in the reactor column. An important element of the geographical segregation caused by rich and very rich people consists in the creation of distinct areas having certain spatial features inside the city. This is what we usually call: gated communities or fortified enclaves. So, new forms of urban living are permanently and continuously generated by city nature. Sometimes, some of that forms are characterized like a paradigmatic new ways of living styles. Part of this paradigmatic living style is also the golden ghetto of the elites that get a totally different look. This difference reveals the urban paradox of the globalized world where we live. These areas are positioned according to the plans designed by some urbanists or they are the result of the most irrational fantasies of the owners. In Bucharest the nineties brought a change of paradigm regarding the idea of living. Leaving the city has been a part of the first stage of the "urban democracy", trying to meet the need of a new living style: choosing big lands in order to be inhabited individually, which has led to a different approach of the area parameters with its public performance. One of the most wanted areas neighboring of Bucharest due to the various natural opportunities it provides is Pipera, and more recently Prelungirea Ghencea. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The compost tested in this study resulted from the anaerobic fermentation process of sewage sludge with cereal straw. Processing and post-treatment were made by Biotechnological Research Centre within INCD ECOIND from Bucharest. Experimental program included testing the effect of fertilizer in quantities of 25 t, 50 t and 100 t compost / ha on the production of soya beans. It was also investigated the influence of the combination of fertilization with compost and inorganic fertilization with levels of 200 kg, respectively, 400 kg NPK / ha. Was analyzed the following productivity indicators: plant density, number of floors of pods, number and weight of pods and total beans production, in full ripening stage. In the case of fertilization only with composted sludge, production of peas and beans was higher in variants with 50 t / ha and 100 t / ha (2095 kg and 1990 kg grain / ha). Therefore, doubling the amount of compost does not provide corresponding increase yields of soybeans. Combining organic and inorganic fertilization determine a proportional production increase only for the total biomass production. The tested compost is a good organic fertilizer and the amount that provides the greatest soybeans production is 50 t / ha. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction. Renal cell carcinoma is rarely diagnosed during pregnancy, as the clinical presentation might resemble other pregnancy-related disorders. It is mostly an incidental finding (e.g., on abdominal ultrasound), but the symptoms in advanced cases may include a palpable mass, followed by pain and hematuria. The landscape of renal cell carcinoma management has changed during the past few years, but surgery remains the main stay modality, if localized. Renal tumors found in pregnant patients require an individualized treatment regimen involving the safety of the pregnancy, surgical timing, routes and techniques, which should be decided in multidisciplinary teams, as any intervention presents risks to both mother and fetus. Materials and method. We present the multidisciplinary management of a 36-year-old patient presented for the first time at the hospital at 21 weeks of gestation for macroscopic hematuria. The imagistic investigation revealed the presence of a renal tumor. An ultrasound guided biopsy was taken and the cytopathological result was highly suspicious for neoplasia. The patient was admitted to our hospital at 27 weeks of gestation with severe anemia and a second episode of macroscopic hematuria. After extensive counseling and consultation with the urologic staff, it was decided to postpone the surgical intervention and to initiate corticotherapy for fetal lung maturation. Multiple transfusions and iron preps were administrated to control the maternal severe anemia. Results. The patient underwent induction of labor at 34 weeks of gestation and a 2000 g boy was delivered by emergency caesarean section for maternal interest. The postoperative recovery was uneventful. The patient was transferred to the “Prof. Dr. Th. Burghele” Clinical Hospital, Bucharest, for performing the nephrectomy. The histopathological findings revealed a clear cell carcinoma with reginal invasion. Discussion. The management of renal mass during pregnancy is a challenging topic. The incidence of cancer among pregnancy presents as a significant diagnostic challenge for clinicians, especially with considerations for maternal-fetal well-being. It is a very rare entity and it represents a daunting therapeutic dilemma for the urologist and obstetrician due to the lack of standard guidelines. Nevertheless, in case of any malignancy, maternal health should be prioritized followed by fetal morbidity and malignancy, hence an educated decision must be made after informing the patient of all the associated risks and management options, in the presence of a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) represent a common pathology among female patients, leading to overprescribing antibiotics, globally. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically increased the incidence of this particular viral pneumonia with secondary bacterial superinfection, resulting in continuous therapeutic or prophylactic recommendations of antibiotic treatment; thus, an updated analysis of current antimicrobial resistance among uropathogens is mandatory. This cross-sectional retrospective study conducted in two university hospitals in Bucharest, Romania analyzed 2469 positive urine cultures, among two different periods of 6 months, before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The most common pathogen was Escherichia coli 1505 (60.95%), followed by Klebsiella spp. 426 (17.25%). Enterococcus spp. was the leading Gram-positive pathogen 285 (11.54%). In gram negative bacteria, in almost all cases, an increased in resistance was observed, but the highest increase was represented by quinolones in Klebsiella spp., from 16.87% to 35.51% and Pseudomonas from 30.3% to 77.41%; a significant increase in resistance was also observed for carbapenems. Surprisingly, a decrease in resistance to Penicillin was observed in Enterococcus spp., but the overall tendency of increased resistance is also maintained for gram positive pathogens. The lack of data on the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on uropathogens' resistance promotes these findings as important for every clinician treating UTIs and for every specialist in the medical field in promoting reasonable recommendations of antibiotic therapies. OBJECTIVES Spinal meningiomas are extramedullary subdural benign tumours with a slow growing rate that arise from the dura mater. Spinal meningiomas account for 39% from all spine tumours. Typically, the first symptoms include radicular compression and, if left untreated, can lead to spinal cord compression. Their most frequent location is the thoracic segment, followed by the cervical one. MATERIALS AND METHODS We retrospectively analysed the records of consecutive patients with cervico-thoracic meningiomas which underwent surgery in The Fourth Department of Neurosurgery, Emergency Clinical Hospital Bagdasar-Arseni, Bucharest, between January 2009 and December 2018. The aim of this study is to assess clinical features, surgical management and outcome of patients operated for cervico-thoracic meningiomas. RESULTS Fifty-six patients underwent surgery for cervico-thoracic meningiomas. Patients included in the study had a median age of 64 years (varying from 28 to 84 years old) and the majority of patients were females (47 - 83.9%). The most frequent location was the thoracic spine (39 - 69.6%). Gross total resection was achieved in all cases. One patient (1.8%) developed a postoperative hematoma that required reoperation and one patient a CSF fistula (1.8%). CONCLUSIONS Surgical management is mandatory for spinal cord meningiomas, being the only treatment capable to improve the functional outcome and cure the patient. Careful microdissection is needed in order to achieve good results and the outcome is influenced by their position in the axial plane and extent of resection. Following surgery, early mobilization and neuromuscular rehabilitation therapy are recommended for a quick recovery and a good functional outcome. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The development of the dento-maxillary system from the very beginning to the age of 12 implies a multitude of changes in the structure of this system. In the age of growth a sequence of deviations from the morphology and function of the dento-maxillary system appear. Purpose. In this paper, we have approached certain aspects of both theoretical and practical aspects that may intervene in the formation and development of dento-maxillary system in preschool age (up to 6 years). Material and methods. 75 dental practitioners from of different specialities from Bucharest were involved in this study between April 15 and May 20, 2018. To carry out a relevant survey a 6 items questionaire was used. Result and discussions. The results obtained were structured for a better understanding and to have a clear view for further study directions. Conlcusions. The dentist have the most important role in detecting disturbances that may have a negative effect on formation and development of dento-maxillary system and also is the one who guide prophylactic actions of preschool age children to avoid negative effect on dento-maxillary system. Dental medicine is an extremely complex medical field, comprising several specialties (orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, prosthodontics, dental surgery, endodontics etc.), which in most cases also require the assistance of a dental nurse. Purpose. In this paper, we have tried to present a number of very interesting ergonomic aspects in the dental office, which aim at simplifying work at this level. Material and method. This study was conducted between May and July 2018 using a questionaire applied to a number of 69 dental practitioners from Bucharest. Results and discussions. Results obtained in this study give us an image about how current dental practitioners understand ergonomics in daily practice. Conlclusions. All the aspects discussed in this study have an important role in the ergonomy of daily activity of a dental office. Background. The authors introduce the contents of the specific training methods of the competitive and pre-competitive training micro-cycles in performance weightlifting. We considered that the optimum balance of the physical and technical training methods within the workouts would improve training and better performances during competitions. This approach determined us to conduct a research within the Rapid Sports Club of Bucharest, Weightlifting Division. Aims. The scientific argument is the presentation of the training methods specific to the performance weightlifters' training in the pre- and competitive period, ensuring an optimum relation between technical training and physical training during workouts that will contribute to the increase of sports performances in competition. Methods. The research was carried out during the pre-competitive and competitive training period (7.01.2008- 24.02.2008) with 7 workout micro-cycles, in a group of 8 athletes, aged from 15 to 32 (level of juniors and seniors classes). The athletes' performances were recorded in the training stages and competitions using the methods of statistical, mathematical and graphical representation. Results. The study emphasized the contents of the specific training methods during the competitive and pre-competitive training micro-cycles and mezzo-cycles in the performance weightlifting. Conclusions. The optimum relationship of the technical and physical training means, obtained during the performance weightlifting workouts, contributes to the improvement of the training and to the achievement of better performances during competitions. Introduction. By follow-up care process is meant an individualized curative-prophylactic active medical method, which supervises, at the initiative of the doctor, categories of healthy persons exposed to risk factors - or categories of sick persons suffering from certain conditions. Purpose. In this study, we will refer to the theoretical and practical aspects regarding the necessity of follow-up care in children patients (preschool children, pupils), adolescents and young people, an operation that must be performed by the doctors with specialization and/or competence in pediatric dentistry, by the doctors with specialization in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, by the school doctors, as well as by the simple dental doctors, who perform very regular pediatric dentistry maneuvers. Material and method. This study was conducted with the help of 23 pedodontists or pediatric dentists in Bucharest. Results and discussions. The answers obtained by applying the questionnaire created a clear image of the follow-up care system currently existing in Bucharest. Conclusions. The follow-up care in pediatric dentistry is the most useful active dental care, and in order to have an increased efficiency it is necessary that it is extremely well organized and controlled. Introduction. Peri-implantitis is a non-specific inflammation, induced or maintained in the host tissues. Peri-implantitis usually presents a succession of specific symptoms, such as: bleeding on palpation, mobility of the dental implant, pain, increased depth of the pockets located around dental implants. Purpose. Thus, in this material we wanted to carry out a review of the main notions, both theoretical and practical, which characterize the diseases of surrounding tissues of dental implant called peri-implantitis. Material and method. For this study, we used 31 practitioners from Bucharest who frequently perform implant-prosthetic rehabilitation treatments, based on a questionnaire consisting of 6 questions. Results and discussions. The doctors included in the study showed that they have a thorough training in the field of implant-prosthetic restorations and of course in the diagnosis and treatment of peri-implantitis. Conclusions. In-depth knowledge of the notions related to peri-implantitis leads to an early diagnosis, favoring the rapid application of a treatment that prevents the occurrence of subsequent complications. Introduction. In general, implant-prosthetic restorations, whether they are fixed or mobile, and regardless of their location (maxillary or mandibular), imply slightly different design and conceiving criteria, compared to the conventional prosthetic restorations already known. Purpose. In this material we tried to present some general and particular aspects regarding the design and manufacture of fixed implant-prosthetic restorations. Material and method. The study took place between September and December 2019 with the help of 31 dentists from Bucharest. Results and discussions. Following the application of the questionnaire, we were able to outline some aspects, frequently encountered in practice, by dentists who perform implant-prosthetic restorations related to occlusal balancing and the forces that appear at the level of implant restorations. Conclusions. The correct analysis and evaluation of the occlusal contacts and forces, leads to an increase in the life expectancy of prosthetic work as well as of their support (dental or implant). Gingival integration, also known as epithelio-conjunctive integration, together with bone integration, is one of the main processes involved in the tissue integration of dental implants. Unfortunately, many practitioners treat this gingival integration with great superficiality, considering it to be an insignificant factor in this highly complex process of tissue integration of dental implants. Purpose. In this study, we intend to define very precisely the concept of "gingival integration" or "epithelial-conjunctive integration" and to introduce it as a specialized term in the basic vocabulary of implantologists. Material and method. A questionnaire based on 5 questions was used to carry out this study. The study group was composed of 64 implantologist (all subjects are holders of a degree after following a competence program in oral implantology in Bucharest). The study was conducted between October 2015 and November 2018. Results and discussions. The responses of the 64 practitioners have been analyzed and structured for a simple understanding, being extremely important for future research directions. Conclusions. Following the analysis of the results of this study we consider that the concept of "gingival integration" of dental implants requires more attention from practitioners, which will be reflected in the long-term success of dental implants.
