The article discusses the aspects of research at the Centre for Organic Photonics and Electronics (COPE) at the University of Queensland. Organic light-emitting diodes and solar cells are some of the applications of opto-electronic materials. Particular focus is given to the main classes of organic semiconducting materials. Being able to control the intermolecular interactions of the active materials at the molecular level is the key to the success of developing organic materials for applications. The members of the research team at COPE are also listed.
