In this essay, I bring up the "sociological" analysis that preceded the social sciences in Brazil, which addressed themes - among others - that permeated religious morality (which formed part of the identity of brazilians in interpretations from the late 19th and early 20th centuries). The markedly catholic influence in the state, which generated demands in relation to the aspect of christian morality, but also the political involvement of the religious clergy, and the socio-economic action of the oligarchies that dominated public sectors in the sense of creating spaces of mutual interests (between the state and federal spheres) so that the masses would not be able to establish any structural revolution, are faces presented inside different theoretical fields to historicize part of an identity apparently still under construction. To do this, I revisited the works A Organização Nacional and O Problema Nacional Brasileiro in order to highlight Alberto Torres vision of the interface between religion and politics, as well as his criticism of potentials "dangerous plots" created by an "not controlled religion". Tax evasion remains a relevant problem in Brazil and worldwide. Behavioral Economics has sought to understand this behavior by carrying out experiments that aim to understand the decision-making process of individuals. This work aims to analyze how the structure of the decision-making context can influence the effectiveness of behavioral interventions that seek to increase tax compliance. Through content analysis of scientific articles in the area, five contextual categories were identified that influence the experiments. The Pacifying Police Unit was created to implement proximity policing strategies in some favelas of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was set to reconfigure the relationship between the Military Police and the residents of these neighborhoods, historically based on violence and fear. Drawing from a yearlong ethnography of the daily work of a Pacifying Police station, I argue that this new perspective of policing has set human rights as a discourse that soldiers acknowledge, but find ambivalent and contradictive ways of enacting as a way of morality and police practice. Ultimately, the widely spread public acceptance in Brazil to humanize violence and criminalize rights further influences violent police practices and disrespect for human rights specifically in favelas. Some of the reconfigurations of meanings and practices are related to the selective entitlements of human rights, depending on social categories that not only define and delimit citizenship but also humanness. The experience of evangelical death is recognized as an example of ritual simplicity, removal of death and oblivion of the dead. This classification was built on a comparative basis from the religious universe Funeral Brazilian who is recognized for his ritual exuberance. This paper offers an interpretation of the rite of burial evangelical combining the dual character of his cosmology with emphasis on the morality of his doctrinal system. By observing the movements of approximation (bodies) of lives together and these relative remoteness (the bodies) of the dead intend to demonstrate certain specificities of this ritual while I propose a new way of interpreting the dynamics of the ritual experience. This article addresses the issue of corruption in Brazil and comes from the contradiction, existing within the Brazilian public opinion, between moral obligations and the meanings of political corruption. The article discusses the concept of corruption and how it is built in Brazil, and also builds a theoretical perspective on corruption through empirical analysis.
