Pseudogaurax Malloch is a genus of Chloropidae with about 70 described species found in all biogeographic regions, but several additional undescribed species are known. In this study we describe six new species from Brazil: Pseudogaurax alvinae sp. nov., Pseudogaurax amazonica sp. nov., Pseudogaurax braoculatus sp. nov., Pseudogaurax cyclosa sp. nov., Pseudogaurax primavera sp. nov., and Pseudogaurax wheeleri sp. nov. Pseudogaurax trifidus (Duda) and Pseudogaurax unilineatus Hall are newly recorded from South America, and Pseudogaurax tridens Sabrosky is newly recorded from the Brazilian Amazon. Data on host records are provided for P. alvinae sp. nov., P. braoculatus sp. nov., P. cyclosa sp. nov., P. tridens, P. trifidus, and P. trilineatus. The puparia of P. alvinae sp. nov., P. cyclosa sp. nov., and P. longilineatus Sabrosky are described as well.

Objective:  To evaluate the clinical epidemiological state of women with suspected postpartum depression (PPD) in a public maternity hospital in Salvador, state of Bahia, Brazil., Methods:  A cross-sectional research was performed with puerperal patients attended at a public maternity hospital in Salvador, Bahia. Data collection was performed from June to September 2017. The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale was used as a screening instrument, and, subsequently, women with positive scores answered a questionnaire to identify their clinical and epidemiological status., Results:  Out of 151 postpartum women from the research, 30 (19.8%) presented suspicion of PPD. There was a prevalence of single mothers 13 (43.3%), women with complete fundamental education 15 (50.0%), women with black skin color 14 (46.7%), and those with a monthly family income of up to one minimum wage 18 (40.0%)., Conclusion:  Although PPD is an underdiagnosed disease, a high prevalence of the condition was found in our research. Objective: to analyze the evolution of hospitalizations and hospital mortality of elderly people with mental and behavioral disorders in Brazil, from 2008 to 2014., Methods: this is a time series ecological study, with data from the Hospital Information System of the Brazilian National Health System (SIH/SUS), and analyzed through Prais-Winsten regression., Results: during the studied period, 139,941 hospitalizations and 2,962 deaths were recorded; the hospitalization coefficient for mental and behavioral disorders decreased in Brazil, from 122.3 to 84.2 per 100 thousand inhabitants (-0.14%; 95%CI -0.25;-0.03), and its macroregions, except the South, which presented stationary trend (0.08%; 95%CI -0.11;0.27); the hospital mortality coefficients in Brazil, in 2008 and 2014, were, respectively, 1.73 and 2.38 per 100 thousand inhabitants; dementia was the main diagnosis in hospitalizations that registered deaths (32.3%)., Conclusion: despite the reduction in hospitalization coefficient for mental and behavioral disorders during the studied period, the hospital mortality coefficient has increased.
