Abstract

The article assesses the feasibility of three-dimensional (3-D) multiplanar sonography in the local staging of cervical carcinoma. The study involved patients undergoing primary surgery for invasive cervical carcinoma at the University of Bologna in Italy between January 2005 and May 2006. Despite the small number of patients evaluated, 3-D multiplanar sonography seems promising as a staging technique for invasive cervical cancer.
