The use of bi-temporal remote sensing images for detecting changes in land cover is an important means of obtaining surface change information, thus contributing to urban governance and ecological environment monitoring. In this article, we propose a deep learning model named Siam-UNet3+ for high-resolution remote sensing image change detection. This model integrates the full-scale skip connections and full-scale deep supervision of the network UNet3+, which can achieve the multi-scale feature fusion of remote sensing images, effectively avoiding the locality disadvantage of convolution operations. Different from UNet3+, Siam-UNet3+ has made major improvements, including the following: (1) incorporating a Siamese network in the encoder, which can process bi-temporal remote sensing images in parallel; (2) leveraging the residual module as the backbone, which can avoid gradient vanishing (or exploding) and model degradation problems; (3) adding a Triplet Attention module to the decoder, which can avoid information redundancy that may occur in full-scale skip connections and increase the ability to focus on changing patterns; and (4) designing a hybrid loss function consisting of focal loss and dice loss, which is more suitable for remote sensing image change detection tasks. In this study, we conducted change detection experiments using the publicly available LEVIR-CD dataset, as well as two local datasets in Beijing. Through comparative experiments with five other models and ablation experiments, the proposed model Siam-UNet3+ in this article demonstrated significant advantages and improvements in four evaluation metrics, namely, precision, recall, F1-score, and overall accuracy (OA), proving to have great potential in the application to highresolution remote sensing image change detection tasks. Objective: Double pituitary adenomas (DPA) are a rare clinical condition, and our knowledge of them is limited. Missing the second lesion leading to incomplete biochemical remission after surgery is an important challenge in DPA management. This study aims to analyze independent prognostic factors in DPA patients and summarize clinical experiences to prevent surgical failure. Methods: Two cases of DPA patients with Cushing's disease diagnosed and surgically treated at Peking Union Medical College Hospital are reported. A literature review was performed on the online database Pubmed, and 57 DPA patients from 22 retrieved articles were included. Demographic characteristics, endocrine manifestations, diagnostic methods, tumor size, and immunohistochemical features of 59 patients were analyzed. Binary logistic regression models were used to identify independent prognostic factors affecting postoperative biochemical remission. Results: Among 59 DPA patients, the mean ± SD age was 43.64 ± 14.42 years, with 61.02% being female (n = 36). The most common endocrine manifestations were Cushing's syndrome (23/59, 38.98%) and acromegaly (20/59, 33.90%). The most prevalent immunohistochemical types were ACTH-immunopositive (31/ 118, 26.27%) and GH-immunopositive (31/118, 26.27%) tumors. Microadenomas (<1cm) were the most frequent in terms of tumor size (62/92, 67.39%). The detection rate for double lesions on 3.0T MRI was 50.00% (14/28), which significantly higher than 1.5T MRI (P = 0.034). Univariate analysis revealed that female, Cushing's syndrome and only single lesion detected by surgical exploration were associated with significantly worse prognosis (P<0.05). Multivariate analysis identified double lesion detected by surgical exploration (OR = 0.08, P = 0.003) and contiguous type tumor (OR = 0.06, P = 0.017) as independent protective factors for DPA patients. Conclusions: The double lesion detected by surgical exploration is independently associated with a better prognosis for DPA patients. Introduction: Pediatric pituitary neuroendocrine tumor is a rare condition, and despite previous research focusing on this specific group, the main factors influencing the surgical cure rate have not been identified. Methods: We conducted a single-center retrospective study on pediatric pituitary neuroendocrine tumor patients who visited Peking Union Medical College Hospital between 2010 and 2023. We collected data on their clinical characteristics, imaging features, surgical outcomes, and follow-up information. Additionally, we used multiple-factor logistic regression to investigate the factors affecting the surgical cure rate of pediatric pituitary neuroendocrine tumor. Results: 232 patients were diagnosed with pediatric pituitary neuroendocrine tumors, with a higher incidence in females. The most common type was ACTHsecreting adenoma (90/232), followed by prolactin-secreting adenoma (63/232), and growth hormone-secreting adenoma (41/232). The majority of pediatric adenomas were macroadenomas (139/232), and some tumors were associated with cystic changes or hemorrhage (58/232), while a few exhibited invasion of the cavernous sinus (33/232). The results of the multivariate analysis indicated that the different hormone secretion types, macroadenoma or the presence of cystic changes or hemorrhage were not significant risk factors for the cure rate after the first surgery. However, the invasion of the cavernous sinus was found to be an important factor influencing the postoperative cure rate. Most pediatric pituitary neuroendocrine tumors with cavernous sinus invasion were macroadenomas, and some displayed characteristics of refractory pituitary neuroendocrine tumors, with some patients experiencing irreversible complications after surgery. Conclusion: Pediatric pituitary neuroendocrine tumors are complex, and the postoperative cure rate is particularly poor for tumors with cavernous sinus invasion. Although macroadenoma itself does not significantly impact the postoperative cure rate, it is still recommended to diagnose and treat early to avoid unnecessary surgery or surgical complications. High-data-throughput and multimodal-acquisition experiments will prevail in next-generation synchrotron beamlines. Orchestrating dataflow pipelines connecting the data acquisition, processing, visualization and storage ends are becoming increasingly complex and essential for enhancing beamline performance. Mamba Data Worker (MDW) has been developed to address the data challenges for the forthcoming High Energy Photon Source (HEPS). It is an important component of the Mamba experimental control and data acquisition software ecosystem, which enables fast data acquisition and transmission, dynamic configuration of data processing pipelines, data multiplex in streaming, and customized data and metadata assembly. This paper presents the architecture and development plan of MDW, outlines the essential technologies involved, and illustrates its current application at the Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF). In recent years, China's resource and environmental problems have become increasingly severe, and the pressure on resource constraints has continued to increase. The Chinese government has delineated constraints for spatial planning based on the ecosystem, that is, a "red line for ecological protection", which aims to "control the ecological space" and optimize the ecological environment. The optimized verification of this red line can improve the accuracy of its boundary, ensure habitat integrity, and provide data and methods supporting the protection of the ecosystem. In this study, the problems of verifying the boundary of the ecological protection red line include five major categories and 24 minor categories, such as accuracy problems, current situation problems, contradictions with planning, boundary consistency problems, and integrity problems. Taking Fangshan District, Beijing, China, as an example, based on the results of delineating the ecological protection red line in Fangshan District, we integrated geographical monitoring, land use surveys, high-resolution remote sensing images, small forestry classes, protected areas, road networks, water networks, and 14 types of multisource data, such as architectural and planning data. On the basis of the idea of clustering, we granulated the types of plaques in the ecological protection red line into three categories, nature reserves, river wetlands, and other protection units, and we assessed multi-source data regarding the specific problems of various types of plaques in the ecological protection red line. We used an adaptive design, using the big data processing mode of red line plaque fragmentation, based on ArcGIS spatial data analysis and processing functions to optimize and verify the red line boundary. We obtained a mapping accuracy of 1:10000 for the ecological protection red line, which is a breakthrough in accuracy. This study provides a base map for ecological protection via the red line management, supervision, and comprehensive implementation of land and space planning. Background The purpose of this study is to investigate the association of metabolic syndrome (MS) and its components with the risk of impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) in high risk urban professionals. The goal is to improve the selection of candidates who would most benefit from an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). Methods This is a cross sectional study in which MS was identified by both the definitions proposed by the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) and the International Diabetes Federation (IDF). Results There were 928 eligible subjects in the study, and 23.9% of them failed in OGTT. The odds ratio of IGT was increased 3.16-fold for MS defined by the NCEP criteria and 2.79-fold for the hyperglycemia factor alone. Both MS and hyperglycemia were shown to be acceptable measures to discriminate subjects with IGT from those with normal glucose tolerance (NGT). The clustering of any 1, 2, or ⩾3 metabolic components resulted in increased odds ratios for IGT: i.e., 1.71, 2.38 and 5.92, respectively. Even without hyperglycemia in the cluster, an increased odds ratio was still observed. The risk of IGT increased dramatically when the fasting plasma glucose and waist circumference were both at their highest defined level. Conclusions MS and its components are associated with the increased risk of IGT. People with MS, one of its components, especially hyperglycemia and central obesity, or a cluster of its components are strong candidates for an OGTT in order to achieve early cost-effective detection of IGT. Background: To optimize the vaccination coverage rates in the general population, the status of coverage rates and the reasons for non-vaccination need to be understood. Therefore, the objective of this study was to assess the changes in influenza vaccination coverage rates in the general population before and after the 2009 influenza pandemic (2008/2009, 2009/2010, and 2010/2011 seasons), and to determine the reasons for non-vaccination. Methods: In January 2011 we conducted a multi-stage sampling, retrospective, cross-sectional survey of individuals in Beijing who were . 18 years of age using self-administered, anonymous questionnaires. The questionnaire consisted of three sections: demographics (gender, age, educational level, and residential district name); history of influenza vaccination in the 2008/2009, 2009/2010, and 2010/2011 seasons; and reasons for non-vaccination in all three seasons. The main outcome was the vaccination coverage rate and vaccination frequency. Differences among the subgroups were tested using a Pearsonfs chi-square test. Multivariate logistic regression was used to determine possible determinants of influenza vaccination uptake. Results: A total of 13002 respondents completed the questionnaires. The vaccination coverage rates were 16.9% in 2008/2009, 21.8% in 2009/2010, and 16.7% in 2010/2011. Compared to 2008/2009 and 2010/2011, the higher rate in 2009/2010 was statistically significant (ƒÔ2=138.96, p<0.001), and no significant difference existed between 2008/2009 and 2010/2011 (ƒÔ2=1.296, p=0.255). Overall, 9.4% of the respondents received vaccinations in all three seasons, whereas 70% of the respondents did not get a vaccination during the same period. Based on multivariate analysis, older age and higher level of education were independently associated with increased odds of reporting vaccination in 2009/2010 and 2010/2011. Among participants who reported no influenza vaccinations over the previous three seasons, the most commonly reported reason for non-vaccination was eI donft think I am very likely to catch the fluf (49.3%). Conclusions: Within the general population of Beijing the vaccination coverage rates were relatively low and did not change significantly after the influenza pandemic. The perception of not expecting to contract influenza was the predominant barrier to influenza vaccination. Further measures are needed to improve influenza vaccination coverage. The continued spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) viruses of H5 and H7 subtypes and low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) viruses of H5, H7 and H9 subtypes in birds and the subsequent infections in humans pose an ongoing pandemic threat. It has been proposed that poultry workers are at higher risk of exposure to HPAI or LPAI viruses and subsequently infection due to their repeated exposure to chickens or domestic waterfowl. The aim of this study was to examine the seroprevalence of antibodies against H5, H7 and H9 viruses amongst duck-related workers in Beijing, China and the risk factors associated with seropositivity. In March, 2011, 1741 participants were recruited from (1) commercial duckbreeding farms; (2) private duck-breeding farms; and (3) duck-slaughtering farms. Local villagers who bred ducks in their backyards were also recruited. A survey was administered by face-to-face interview, and blood samples were collected from subjects for antibody testing against H5, H7 and H9 viruses. We found that none of the subjects were seropositive for either H5 or H7 viruses, and only 0.7% (12/1741) had antibody against H9. A statistically significant difference in H9 antibody seroprevalence existed between the various categories of workers (P = 0.005), with the highest figures recorded amongst the villagers (1.7%). Independent risk factors associated with seropositivity toinfection with H9 virus included less frequent disinfection of worksite (OR, 5.13 [95% CI, 1.07-24.58]; P = 0.041; ≤ twice monthly versus>twice monthly) and handling ducks with wounds on hands (OR, 4.13 [95% CI, 1.26-13.57]; P = 0.019). Whilst the risk of infection with H5, H7 and H9 viruses appears to be low among duck-related workers in Beijing, China, ongoing monitoring of infection with the H9 virus is still warranted, especially amongst villagers who breed backyard ducks to monitor for any changes. To determine the role of the migrant population in the transmission of tuberculosis (TB), we investigated the distribution and magnitude of TB in permanent residents and migrant populations of Beijing, People's Republic of China, from 2000 through 2006. An exploratory spatial data analysis was applied to detect the "hot spots" of TB among the 2 populations. Results, using the data obtained from 2004-2006, showed that people who migrated from the western, middle, and eastern zones of China had a significantly higher risk of having TB than did permanent residents. These findings indicate that population fluctuations have affected the rate of TB prevalence in Beijing, and interventions to control TB should include the migrant population. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article discusses a case-control study which investigates the factors that associate with the seropositivity of 2009 H1N1 influenza in Beijing, China. The study used a computer-assisted telephone interviewing system in which randomly selected respondents answer a standard questionnaire.
