Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to explore the status of university accelerators (UAs) in Australia, expanding a similar paper on related entrepreneurship education (EE) in 2019. The aim is to review neoteric global best practice UA, aligning context and specific inference to the impact of UAs in Australia. Design/methodology/approach: The authors introduce an iterative and emergent inquiry into multi-method research, including a quantitative examination of Australian UAs, Leximancer algorithmic analyses of entrepreneurial strategic intent and narratives from best practice applications. Findings: The paper highlights the sparse and inconsistent distribution across UAs in Australia, further characterized by significant symbolic motives of operation. Furthermore, the integration of EE evidenced on global UA is not as evident in Australia, highlighting outcomes more specific to the success of nascent (student) startups as opposed to educational outcomes. Research limitations/implications: Limitations include the availability and accuracy of online documents and data, although implications have been mitigated using multi-method research design. Practical implications: Despite the provision of critical grounding for practitioners and researchers in developing UAs, further research is recommended regarding the efficacy and impact of these accelerators. Originality/value: This study is the first multi-methods emergent inquiry into UAs in Australia, coupled with integration of EE. The authors provide guidelines and inferences for researchers, educators, policymakers and practitioners alike as they seek to explore and act upon the impact of UAs.

The development of clinical skills and judgment is a key area of learning for undergraduate paramedic students but they typically find translating theory to practice a daunting prospect not least because they practice their developing clinical skills in front of others. This paper documents the rationale and outcomes of a peer mentoring program in which selected third year paramedic students took on the role of mentors within a second year clinical practice subject. The second year students reported that the program had resulted in positive changes, including an improvement in their clinical skills. Mentors reported benefits such as forming effective relationships with their mentees, enhanced positive relationship with the staff and support from their fellow mentors. Comments from staff and future directions are discussed.

We consider time-critical supply chains (SCs) in the Australia dairy industry and recovery policies in the presence of the ripple effect. Ripple effect is the impact of a disruption on SC economic performance and disruption-based scope of changes needed in the supply structures and parameters to preserve the resilience. First, we describe the ripple effect in general and one example of the ripple effect in the dairy SC in Australia. Second, we present a model for reactive recovery policies in the dairy SC under conditions of the ripple effect and exemplify them on a simulation example. The results of this study can be used in future for comparing proactive and reactive approaches in tackling the ripple effect from resilience and flexibility views. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

Three new species of diphyllidean cestodes are described from rhinobatid elasmobranchs of the genus Glaucostegus from the Indian and Pacific Oceans. All 3 new species have 11 apical hooks (6 type-A and 5 type-B hooks) and, therefore, differ in this feature from all but 5 of the 39 valid species of Echinobothrium. In addition, Echinobothrium tetabuanense n. sp. from Glaucostegus cf. typus in the Sulu Sea, Borneo differs from all of its congeners in the number and arrangement of hooklets, number of spines on the cephalic peduncle, and the number and distribution of testes. Echinobothrium sematanense n. sp. from Glaucostegus thouin in the South China Sea, Borneo, can be distinguished from its congeners based on the following combination of characters, i.e., small size (worms less than 1 mm long), number of hooklets, spines per column on the cephalic peduncle, and number of testes. Echinobothrium weipaense n. sp. from northern Australia is unique in the position of the cirrus sac and genital pore, both structures being well posterior and not overlapping the ovary. An emended description of the microthrix pattern on the scolex of Echinobothrium chisholmae from G. typus in Australia is also presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
