Anterior Cruciate Ligament rehabilitation is a lengthy process and requires appropriate goal setting strategies to help optimize patient and athlete outcomes. From a global perspective, ACL injury incidences are continuing to rise, with Australia and the USA having one of the highest incidences of ACL injury rates in the athletic population. In addition, physiotherapists are expected by their professional regulatory body to effectively use goal setting practices. Theoretical Goal Setting Model consisting of three phases: 1) Pre goal setting phase (empower); 2) goal implementation phase (strive); and 3) goal evaluation phase (attain). This model provides physiotherapists with a useful process so that key aspects of setting goals are considered and incoporporated. This model showcases a necessary path a physiotherapist and patient must journey together in order to enhance rehabilitation outcomes. This model will also advance the physiotherapists' awareness of the multi-stages of the patients goal desires, intentions and commitment to their rehabilitation. This model is a preliminary attempt to guide both practice, teaching, and research to ensure that goal setting practices in ACL rehabilitation are given an appropriate rehabilitative platform. Selecting appropriate support goals is a critical part of evidence-based practice when working with children on the autism spectrum and their families. The aim of this study was to explore parents' views and perspectives regarding the communication challenges experienced by their children on the autism spectrum to inform the goal selection process. We conducted an online survey of 105 parents and caregivers in which they shared the three biggest communication challenges for their children (aged 2-8 years) in an average day. Data were examined using content analysis. Seven categories of challenges were identified including everyday situations (general and specific), expressive and receptive language (general and specific for each), and other skills and behaviours. Participants varied substantially in how they conceptualised goals. Clinicians should recognise and account for the fact that parents' understanding and prioritisation of their children's communication needs vary when working together to formulate goals. The focus of this scoping review was to identify the extent, range, and nature of studies that have been published regarding community integration programs and interventions that support people during the transition home from hospital following spinal cord injury. Four electronic databases and one search engine were searched for articles published between 2010 and 2020. Grey literature and manual searches were also done. Of the 16 articles included, 8 were published in peer-reviewed journals. Two of these did not include an evaluation. Study designs included but were not limited to pilot studies (n = 2); mixed methods evaluations (n = 2); single-site randomized controlled trials (n = 3); and, non-randomized single-arm study design (n = 1). The articles were from the United States (n = 12), Canada (n = 2), Australia (n = 1), and the United Kingdom (n = 1). The majority of interventions focused on addressing health-related educational needs, followed by community mobility. Goal setting and promoting self-efficacy were identified as important components, and the importance of involvement of people with lived experience was also highlighted. There was a lack of focus on management of relationships, including addressing sexuality needs. This review highlights the need for further empirical evaluation of implemented programs and interventions in this area, particularly in countries other than the USA, to inform service development. Successful community integration is an important outcome of spinal cord injuries rehabilitation. Purpose Conduct a systematic review of school-based interventions to promote physical activity in preschoolers. Design and Methods A systematic search of literature between 2002 and 2014 in nine electronic databases and reference lists was conducted using the terms physical activity combined with environment, children, or interventions. Results Fourteen articles were identified. Interventions were environmental, cognitive/behavioral, or a combination. Positive interventions involving preschool children included manipulation of the playground with the number of children playing at one time, markings, or equipment, and goal setting and reinforcement. The article discusses how the U.S., Great Britain and Australia handled the financial crisis, as of July 2010. It analyzes the reasons why Australia was less affected by the crisis than the U.S. and Great Britain. The author suggests that the U.S. would perform well to adopt a Twin Peaks Model which creates two agencies that regulate a broad range of financial entities but focus on narrow goals.

This 2009 survey of primary care doctors in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States finds wide differences in practice systems, incentives, perceptions of access to care, use of health information technology (IT), and programs to improve quality. Response rates exceeded 40 percent except in four countries: Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States. U.S. and Canadian physicians lag in the adoption of IT. U.S. doctors were the most likely to report that there are insurance restrictions on obtaining medication and treatment for their patients and that their patients often have difficulty with costs. We believe that opportunities exist for cross-national learning in disease management, use of teams, and performance feedback to improve primary care globally. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
