The process of medical scientific journal publishing merits further explanation for authors and readers. Prospective authors need to understand the scope of the journal and the article types that are published. We give an overview of the editorial process, including selection of reviewers, peer review and decisions regarding revision, acceptance and rejection of papers for Australasian Psychiatry . The article presents author's insights on the development of Philosophy of Education Society of Australasia (PESA) and his association with PESA. He says that he has benefited from the encouragement and support of his colleagues for his philosophical development. He argues that there are problems in the relationship between philosophy and education as well as in philosophy and philosophy of education. He says that social, cultural and political controversies have affected PESA. He says that he has been supportive to the members of PESA and in developing standards in philosophy of education. He organized the PESA Annual Conference in 1975 at Macquarie University with Kevin Harris. He notes that his editorship at Environmental Paper Assessment Tool (EPAT) was his last association with PESA.
