The article provides information on the secondary quality control (QC) which was made on the total dissolved inorganic carbon ( TCO2 ) data. It discusses the application of the adjustments to come up the final data product in the Atlantic. It describes the methods of quality control such as crossover analysis between stations and inversion analysis of all crossover data. The consistency of the Carbon in the Atlantic (CARINA) data base is discussed.

The article discusses the quality control (QC) procedures and methods of the CARbon IN the Atlantic (CARINA) database used to investigage the carbon relevant hydrographic and hydrochemical parameters in the Artic, Atlantic and Southern Ocean. Technical details of the QC and tools which have been developed and used in the project are given, including procedures for crossover analysis and least square models. It provides an overview of the methods and techniques used for the QC of the database.

The article provides an overview of the salinity measurements and carbon in the Atlantic (CARINA) data in the Nordic Seas. It examines the parameters of CARINA data to measure systematic biases in the reported values. It specifically accounts the information of the CARINA data from the Nordic Seas as well as the results of the quality control of the salinity data. Findings show a consistent rate of at least ±0.005 in terms of quality controlled salinity data.
