Abstract

The article discusses research on the effectiveness of nilotinib in Philadelphia-positive (Ph+) chronic myelogenous leukemia presented during the 49th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) in Atlanta, Georgia from December 8 to 11, 2007. According to the study by a team led by Dr. George Cortes of the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, cytogenic response showed the effectiveness of the novel oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor among patients with the disease.
