Background: The high prevalence of attention problems in children warrants concern, as it is a risk factor for internalizing and externalizing problems. There lies a need to understand possible factors that may mediate this link so that interventions may be targeted to alleviate these mediators and interrupt the link between attention problems and negative outcomes. Objective: This study investigated the role of peer problems in the association between attention problems and internalizing problems, and between attention problems and externalizing problems in an Asian sample (N = 312). Method: Participants' data were from the archival records of an outpatient child psychiatric clinic. Results: Findings indicated that peer problems was a statistically significant mediator for both associations. Additionally, peer problems was a complete mediator for the association between attention problems and internalizing problems, but a partial mediator for the link between attention problems and externalizing problems. Conclusions: Findings suggest that the association between attention problems and internalizing and externalizing problems occurs via an indirect mediated pathway, through peer problems. These findings provide some preliminary evidence for the design and evaluation of future intervention studies aimed at the peer group level for the amelioration of peer problems in children with attention problems.

Background: The COMBO drug-eluting stent combines sirolimus-elution from a biodegradable polymer with an anti-CD34+ antibody coating for early endothelialization., Objective: We investigated for geographical differences in outcomes after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with the COMBO stent among Asians and Europeans., Methods: The COMBO Collaboration is a pooled patient-level analysis of the MASCOT and REMEDEE registries of all-comers undergoing attempted COMBO stent PCI. The primary outcome was 1-year target lesion failure (TLF), composite of cardiac death, target vessel myocardial infarction (TV-MI) and target lesion revascularization (TLR)., Results: This study included 604 Asians (17.9%) and 2775 Europeans (82.1%). Asians were younger and included fewer females, with a higher prevalence of diabetes mellitus but lower prevalence of other comorbidities than Europeans. Asians had a higher prevalence of ACC/AHA C type lesions and received longer stent lengths. More Asians than Europeans were discharged on clopidogrel (86.5% vs 62.8%) rather than potent P2Y 12  inhibitors. One-year TLF occurred in 4.0% Asians and 4.1% of Europeans, p = 0.93. The incidence of cardiac death was higher in Asians (2.8% vs. 1.3%, p = 0.007) with similar rates of TV-MI (1.5% vs. 1.2%, p = 0.54) and definite stent thrombosis (0.3% vs. 0.5%, p = 0.84) and lower incidence of TLR than Europeans (1.0% vs. 2.5%, p = 0.025). After adjustment, differences for cardiac death and TLR were no longer significant., Conclusions: In the COMBO collaboration, although 1-year TLF was similar regardless of geography, Asians experienced higher rates of cardiac death and lower TLR than Europeans, while incidence of TV-MI and ST was similar in both regions. Aims: Previous studies for approved indications (on-label) have shown the good safety and efficacy profiles of the Nobori DES. We conducted a prospective, multicentre study to validate the clinical performance of this stent in a real-world setting., Methods and Results: A total of 3,067 consecutive patients undergoing a percutaneous coronary intervention with the Nobori DES were enrolled in the NOBORI 2 registry. At one and two years, 97% and 95% of patients, respectively, were available for follow-up. The rates of target lesion failure (TLF), cardiac death, myocardial infarction and target lesion revascularisations were: 3.9%, 1.2%, 1.9% and 2.2% at one year and 5.1%, 1.6%, 2.4% and 3.0% at two years. Overall, 2,242 patients (73%) were treated for at least one off-label indication. When comparing off-label and on-label groups, the results were: TLF 4.5% vs. 2.2%, p=0.003 at one year and 5.9% vs. 2.8%, p=0.001 at two years. The rate of stent thrombosis was 0.68%, and 0.80% at one and two years, respectively with no difference between the off-label and on-label groups (0.76% vs. 0.48%, p=0.6 and 0.89% vs. 0.61%, p=0.5)., Conclusions: The promising results previously observed in lower risk patients can be replicated in daily practice. As expected, in off-label indications, rates of adverse events were higher. Nevertheless, our results suggest the good and sustained performance of this stent system in high-risk patients with significant comorbidities and/or complex lesions.
