This article focuses on the Asian Nuclear Physics Association (ANPhA). It was officially launched on July 18, 2009 in Beijing, China. One of the main objectives of ANPhA is to strengthen collaboration among Asian communities in nuclear research via the promotion of basic nuclear physics and its applications. The promotion of nuclear science education among Asian countries through various means is another important role of ANPhA. Included is a list of the main topics of the first business meeting of the ANPhA.

The article discusses the establishment of the Division of Nuclear Physics (DNP) in the Association of Asia Pacific Physical Societies (AAPPS) which aims to strengthen collaborations among nuclear research scientists in the Asia Pacific region.
