A recent study conducted at Peking University Third Hospital in Beijing, China, aimed to develop a nomogram for predicting Marfan syndrome (MFS) in children with congenital ectopia lentis (CEL). The researchers used diagnostic standards and genetic tests to determine the presence or absence of MFS in patients with CEL. They identified three predictors of MFS: Z score of body mass index, corneal curvature radius, and aortic root diameter. The nomogram developed from these predictors showed good predictive ability and can be used to personalize treatment plans and improve MFS outcomes.
