Abstract

The article focuses on the Asian Biotechnology Innovation and Development Initiative for biotechnology assessment and policy relevant indicators. It presents the definition of biotechnology-related terms included in the statistics 2006 report of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). It notes the countries that launched data collection on the basis of the OECD definition. The issues surrounding the biotechnology data collection approach of nations are cited.
