Abstract

A second species of P olypedilum ( Diptera: Chironomidae) is inferred to tolerate desiccation in an African rock pool habitat similar to the well-known anhydrobiotic P olypedilum vanderplanki Hinton. The species, P olypedilum ovahimba sp. nov., is described and illustrated as new to science from Namibia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
