The article reports on the fabrication of arrays of carbon nanotube field emitters by scientists David Hsu and Jonathan Shaw at the Naval Research Laboratory in Arlington, Virginia. This nanotube field emitter has a record-low gate voltage of 60 volts for emissions of up to 1.2 amperes per square emitters were created.
