The article discusses a study which compared the impact of compression-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and convention CPR on the survival of patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Involved in the 5-year prospective observational cohort study were at least 18 years old with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2009 in Arizona. The authors found an association between layperson compression-only CPR and no bystander CPR among patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
