The article examines the effect of lead level intake found in alcoholic beverages in the wine market in Argentina. It is said that the lead found in the alcoholic beverages posed a double risk to the user, the alcohol itself and the lead content. The study aims to establish a lead level in the Argentine wines as the first step in evaluating its diet contribution and explain its difference in levels between red and white wines. Methods involved in the study includes a 59 bottles of wine from a randomly selected market. After a series of lead content testing and analysis in the lead samples by spectrophotometry, result shows no significant changes for each kind of wines. The author concluded that the lead content in the Argentine wines are the same as the wines sold in other countries.
