In this work I will analyze three speeches delivered with the purpose of narrating to the citizens the history of the birth of the Nation at the Fiestas Mayas of the Centenary. They were included in the special edition for the Centenary, published by La Voz del Interior on may 25th., 1910. These speeches were not the only ones delivered and published by the above mentioned newspaper. I have selected them because, coming all of them from the educational environment, they were delivered in different performative (in the sense of the creative capacity of speech) and performatic (in the sense of staging a body action) contexts. I have also taken into account in my selection some gender questions, rescuing the composition of a female student from the Normal School of Teachers in a time when was quite infrequent in our social environment to listen to feminine dissertations. Finally, I tried to select voices that might represent different positions in the social field: a future female primary school teacher, a young doctor who had just graduated from the University, and a priest. The voices will be analyzed in the context of a civil and religious passing ritual, trying to get in the audience a strengthened re-aggregation to a we, the Argentinian citizens.
