The article reports on nesting attempts of the Cliff Swallow in Argentina. The Cliff Swallow Petrochelidon pyrrhonota breeds in most of North America and winters in South America south to Chile and Argentina. This species constructs elaborate retort-shaped mud nests and breeds mostly in colonies, sometimes with Barn Swallows Hirundo rustica. In Argentina the species was recorded as a non-breeding summer visitor throughout the country. In Buenos Aires Province it is considered to be a common non-breeding spring and summer visitor in the north and east, where it presumably stays from November to February, although Hudson observed migrating birds as late as April.
