Abstract

The article presents a study which examined the effects of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) increases to the Amazon forests as a carbon sink. Also cited are the use of terrestrial models to analyze the vegetation structure and biogeochemical cycles in the forests, the increase in biomass sink due to higher CO2, and the effect of positive vegetation growth on biomass accumulation.
