Abstract

The article focuses on a study that assesses the importance of a novel bacterium Massilia sp. BS-1, producing violacein and deoxyviolacein. It notes that violacein is a bluish-purple pigment produced by Chromobacterium violaceum, first found in the Amazon River back in 1881. Furthermore, the importance of L-tryptophan and L-histidine in producing violacein is also highlighted.
