OREGON description & travel ,MALHEUR National Wildlife Refuge (Or.) - Abstract
The article presents a description of the Alvord Desert in southeastern Oregon. Because it is east of the Coast Range and the Cascades Mountains, eastern Oregon is a dry region, with the Alvord its most extreme example. It is the northernmost desert in North America. The Malheur National Wildlife Refuge is the primary tourist attraction of the sparsely populated area.
