Object of the study are the changes associated with old Bulgarian nasality, related to the modem reflexes of nasal vowels in the speech of Golo Brdo, Albania. Golo Bardo is part of the large geographical area Debar, located in Albania. Bulgarians lived here for centuries, who in recent years emigrated to the larger cities of the country and the region is depopulated. Even today the majority of this population keeps native Bulgarian dialect. It is in the centre of this study. The development of Old Bulgarian nasality in his system is tracked in details. Historical changes in the Old Bulgarian nasal vowels are important for establishing the typology of the Golo Bardo speech and the links with other Bulgarian dialects and Bulgarian literary language. Linguistic analysis of the material proves that the dialect of Golo Bardo is uniform and presents a particular type. Diversity found in the reflexes of Old Bulgarian nasal back vowel is a feature that is attributable to the geographical location of the speech - the periphery of the Bulgarian linguistic territory. In its main proponent, which is the wide vocal o, this Bulgarian dialect is the kind of speech in the Central Rhodopes, in Drimkol area (Republic of Macedonia) and some dialects in Kastoria (Aegean Macedonia). Other advocates to occur less frequently, also show its relationship to other Bulgarian speeches - a relates it to the large area of south-western Bulgarian dialects, and y - to the Bulgarian border speeches. The reflex ъ, that is quite common in Golo Bardo locations, is its link with the majority of Bulgarian dialects, and with the Bulgarian literary language. Golo Bardo speech is associated in the system of the entire Bulgarian language also with the all-Bulgarian advocate e of the Old Bulgarian nasal front vowel. The material presented and analyzed in the study is irrefutable proof of the Bulgarian character of the speech of Golo Brdo, Albania. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
