Abstract

The article reports a study which was conducted to evaluate the effect of sliding knots on the strength of the suture-tendon interface. The results revealed that sliding knots significantly weaken the suture-tendon interface for mattress but not simple stitches in a sheep rotator cuff model. It is mentioned that mattress stitches have superior holding strength compared with simple stitches.
