Abstract: A novel organic–inorganic coordination polymer [CdCl3(CH3)3NH] 1 was synthesized by the reaction of CdCl2 with trimethylamine (TMA) at 170 °C for 5 days in ethanol and structurally characterized by means of X-ray single diffraction. The title compound affords a one-dimensional chain structure. It crystallizes in hexagonal system space group with , , , , , , , , , , the final and for 355 observed reflections with . The title compound consists of cation [(CH3)3NH]+ and anion chain , and they are combined by static attracting forces in the crystal. TG–DTA, XRD and IR data for the title compound are reported and discussed. The photoluminescent properties of the compound 1 were also investigated. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: A new molybdenum complex (C4H12N2)2[(MoV 2O4)(MoVIO4)(C2O4)2]·2H2O, was solvothermally synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure of the compound consists of oxalate acid-coordinated mixed-valent [MoV 2O4][MoVIO4] helical chains and protonated piperazine cations. The helical chains are built up from the [MoV 2O4] units and [MoVIO4] tetrahedral. The central axis about helical chain is a 2-fold screw axis. The compound crystallizes in the space group P21/n of monoclinic system with a =11.396(2)Å, b =14.107(3)Å, c =15.805(3)Å, β =102.09(3)°, V =2484.6(9)Å3, Z =4. Three new metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), namely, {[Zn 2 (abtc)(bpa)(H 2 O)]·5H 2 O} n (1) , {[Cd 3 (abtc) 2 ]·2H 3 O} n (2) and [Cd 3 (H 2 abtc) 3 (bpp)(μ 2 -OH 2 ) 2 (H 2 O) 3 ] n (3) [bpa = bis(4-pyridyl)amine, bpp = 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane] have been constructed mainly from the ligand of 3,3′,5,5′-azobenzene-tetracarboxylic acid (H 4 abtc) and metal centers of Zn 2+ or Cd 2+ . Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that compounds 1 and 2 display 3D frameworks, while compound 3 displays a 2D layered structure consisting of intriguing 1D rhombic chains and bpp ligands. The solid-state luminescent properties of three products are investigated at room temperature. Furthermore, fluorescence measurements indicated that the complex 1 could sensitively sense Fe 3+ ions and nitrobenzene molecules. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Two zinc(II) coordination polymers (CPs), namely, {[Zn 2 (µ 5 -tzbt)(µ-trz)]·3.5H 2 O} n (trz = 1,2,4-triazolate) (1) and {[Zn 2 (µ 5 -tzbt)(µ-OH)(phen)]·4H 2 O} n (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) (2) have been constructed from 1-(triazol-1-yl)-2,4,6-benzene tricarboxylic acid (H 3 tzbt) under hydrothermal conditions. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that 1 displays 3D framework containing left - handed and right - handed helical chains, whilst 2 is a 2D layered structure. These new CPs both exhibit intensive fluorescence emission at room temperature. Notably, they perform as host for the encapsulation of Ln(III) ions and serve as an antenna to sensitize Tb(III) ions. By encapsulating different Ln(III) ions, both Eu 0.2 Tb 0.8 @ 1 and Eu 3+ @ 2 present white-light emission. In addition, 2 exhibits highly luminescent sensing properties for acetone. Abstract: Two new compounds [Zn2L(OH)H2O] n (1) and [Cd(HL)] n (2) have been assembled from a semirigid V-shape ligand under hydrothermal conditions. The two compounds were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses and further characterized by solid state emission spectra, IR spectra, and thermogravimetric analyses. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses show that both of the two compounds crystallize in space group and display a three-dimensional (3D) structure with different topologies of fluorite topology for 1 and Au4Ho topology for 2. It is noteworthing that 1 has a novel Zn2 dinuclear unit containing only one bridging oxygen atom between two Zn atoms. Studies of photophysical properties reveal that 1 and 2 present luminescence, which can be ascribed to the emission of intraligand transition. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Two new indium MOFs based on rigid 1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylate (1,4-NDC) ligand have been successfully prepared under different solvothermal conditions and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, TGA, elemental analyses and luminescence spectrum. In these two compounds, In(OH)(1,4-NDC)·2H2O (1) and HIn(1,4-NDC)2·2H2O·1.5DMF (2), (DMF= N, N′-dimethylformamide), 1,4-NDC exhibits two different coordination modes, constructing disparate architectures by bridging the different building units. Compound 1 exhibits a 3D framework with two kinds of square shape channels that built up from the infinite chains of corner-sharing In(OH)2O4 octahedra with 1,4-NDC ligands. Compound 2 possesses a 3D anion framework with twofold interpenetrating diamond topology which is accomplished by connecting four linear 1,4-NDC ligands to the four-connected In(III) nodes. Abstract: Two new zinc-triazole-biphenyldicarboxylate frameworks based on secondary building units (SBUs), namely, Zn4(μ4-O)(trz)2(4,4′-bpdc)2 ( 1 ) and Zn2(trz)2(2,4′-bpdc) ( 2 ), [Htrz = 1,2,4-triazole, H2bpdc = biphenyldicarboxylate] have been synthesized by hydrothermal reactions and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses, X-ray power diffraction, elemental analyses, infrared absorption spectra, and thermogravimetric analyses. Compound 1 is a 2-fold interpenetrating diamond topology constructed from [Zn4(μ4-O)(trz)2]4+ SBUs with tetrahedral [Zn4(μ4-O)] core and two trz ligands. Compound 2 is a 2D 6-connected hxl network based on [Zn2(trz)2]2+ SBUs. Additionally, these two compounds show emission properties at room temperature in the solid state. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Two new zinc–triazole–carboxylate frameworks constructed from secondary building units (SBUs), [Zn5(trz)4(btc)2(DMF)2(H2O)2]·2H2O·DMF (1) and [Zn4(trz)3(btc)2(CH3CN)(H2O)]·5H2O·(Bu4N) (2), [Htrz=1,2,4-triazole, H3btc=1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylate, Bu4N=tetrabutylammonium], have been synthesized by solvothermal reactions and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses, X-ray power diffraction, elemental analyses, infrared spectra and thermogravimetric analyses. Both compounds 1 and 2 exhibit 3D (3,8)-connected tfz-d nets with {43}2{46.618.84} topology symbol built from rod-shaped {[Zn5(trz)4]6+} n SBUs (1) and {[Zn4(trz)3]5+} n SBUs (2). In two compounds, rodlike units are connected by btc ligands via different modes. Abstract: Two new three-dimensional indium phosphite and indium phosphite–phosphate [In3(H2PO3)3(HPO3)4]·(trans-C6N2H16) 1 and [In6(HPO3)8(H2PO3)5(H2PO4)]·(C3N2H12)2 2 have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions using 1,2-diaminocyclohexane (1,2-DACH) and 1,3-diaminopropane (1,3-DAP) as structure directing agents, respectively and further characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, TGA, ICP-AES and elemental analyses. These two compounds have the similar 3D inorganic framework structures with intersecting 8-membered ring (8-MR) channels. In compound 1, the diprotonated trans-1,2-DACH cations occupy the 8-MR channels along the [001] direction even though a mix of trans- and cis-isomers of 1,2-DACH molecules are added in the reaction mixture. Moreover, the chirality of trans-1,2-DACH alternates along the channels. It is noted that compound 2 is the first indium phosphite–phosphate compound. Abstract: A new metal–organic framework [In2(OH)2(1,3-BDC)2(2,2′-bipy)2] 1 (1,3-benzenedicarboxylate=1,3-BDC, 2,2′-bipyridine=2,2′-bipy) has been hydrothermally synthesized from the reaction of In(NO3)3, 1,3-BDC and 2,2′-bipy. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that compound 1 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P-1 (No. 2), a =8.6461Å, b =9.9234Å, c =10.1799Å, α =78.1801°, β =75.1646°, γ =72.7427°, V =798.40Å3, Z =2. Compound 1 contains double-chain-like ribbons which are constructed by units and 1,3-BDC ligands. The adjacent ribbons are packed and exhibit interesting 3D supramolecular networks. The further characterizations of compound 1 have been performed by fluorescent spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), ICP-AES and elemental analyses. Abstract: (C4N2H12)[Ga2F3(HPO3)2(H2PO3)] 1 is a new open-framework fluorinated gallium phosphite obtained by mild hydrothermal synthesis using piperazine as template agent and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD), powder XRD, infra-red spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma, thermogravimetric and elemental analyses. The three-dimensional (3D) anionic framework of compound 1 is constructed from two distinct motifs, a 1D tancoite chain and a single 4-ring (S4R) unit, which contains four intersecting channels running throughout the structure as 8, 12-member rings channels along to the a-axis and 12-member ring channels along the b- and c-axis, respectively. The well-ordered, diprotonated piperazine cations occupy all the channels, and interact with the fluorinated gallium-phosphite framework by strong hydrogen bonds. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Ga3(HPO3)4F4(H3DETA) is a new open-framework fluorinated gallium phosphite obtained by mild hydrothermal synthesis using diethylenetriamine as templated agent and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, the powder X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, TGA, ICP and elemental analyses. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c, a=12.741(6)Å, b=12.068(6)Å, c=11.988(5)Å, β=94.902(8)o, V=1836.6(15)Å3, Z=4. The construction of 3D open-framework structure in the title compound may be viewed as the assembly of pentameric building units and HPO3 groups. The pentameric building unit is the first to be found, which lead to form the three types of channels along a-, b- and c-axes, respectively, in gallium phosphite. The triprotonated DETA cations are inserted within the 10-membered ring channels and interact with anions of the framework via hydrogen bonds. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: The first organically templated indium phosphite (H3NC2H4NH3)[In(OH)3(HPO3)] was hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, the powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis and IR spectroscopy. The compound is built up from InO3(OH)3 octahedron and HPO3 pseudo-pyramid that share vertices. The connectivity between InO3(OH)3 and HPO3 units gives rise to a ladder-like chain architecture containing fused [In2P2O4] four-member rings. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
