Purpose: To adapt the Quality of Vision Questionnaire (QoV) for measuring negative dysphotopsia and to validate the original and modified versions in the Dutch population., Methods: The QoV was translated into Dutch according to standardized methodology. Negative dysphotopsia items were constructed based on focus group interviews, literature review and clinical data. The questionnaire was completed by 404 subjects, including contact lens wearers, patients with cataract and after cataract surgery (95.5% with a monofocal, 4.5% with a multifocal intraocular lens). Rasch analysis was applied for evaluation of reliability and validity of the original QoV and modified version, Negative Dysphotopsia QoV (ND-QoV)., Results: The frequency, severity and bothersome scales of the QoV and ND-QoV demonstrated good measurement precision, good fit statistics for all but one item, but significant mistargeting of more than one logit. Item estimations were stable across the study groups and scales were unidimensional with more than 50% of variance explained by the measurements. There was a positive correlation between questionnaire scores and best corrected visual acuity (r = 0.3, p < 0.01). The quality of vision measured by all three scales was significantly poorer (p < 0.01) in patients with negative dysphotopsia compared to asymptomatic pseudophakic patients., Conclusion: The Dutch version of the QoV questionnaire has shown good psychometric properties comparable to the native version as well as good reliability and validity. Purpose: To explore the characteristics of choroidal tissue in patients with and without central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) using an automated system of image analysis to determine known and novel metrics., Methods: This was a retrospective case-control analysis of optical coherence tomography scans of patients seen at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, UK, comparing patients with active CSC to an age-matched and gender-matched group with no CSC using a purpose-built automated system of image analysis. The expert system segments and measures established and novel features of choroid using a combination of thresholding, noise removal, and morphological techniques., Results: A total of 72 patients were included in this study, with 40 included in the group with CSC and 32 patient controls with no CSC. There were significant increases from normal to CSC of median choroidal vascularity index, 54.7(median absolute deviation = 9.8) to 61.2(4.3), and all choroidal thickness indices including maximum depth, from 249.0(90.1) µm to 372.3(80.3) µm. For novel measures, there was a significant increase in tissue entropy from 6.68(0.28) to 6.95(0.17) and area of the largest five vessels from 6.28(3.04) mm2 to 9.10(3.49) mm2. The ratio of vessel lumen to stromal tissue intensity was conversely significantly reduced from 0.674(0.11) in normal patients to 0.59(0.06) in CSC., Conclusion: The automated system of choroidal analysis expands on the utility of known measures and introduces novel metrics. These findings contribute pathophysiological insights and metrics for further assessment and research on conditions affecting choroidal tissue.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to describe the extent to which scotopic and photopic measures of visual function predict color fundus photograph (CFP) and fundus autofluorescence (FAF) changes in early and intermediate nonexudative AMD., Methods: Sixty-nine observers were recruited: 56 AMD patients (mean age, 73 ± 12.98 years) and 13 controls (mean age, 67.77 ± 9.72 years). A nonmydriatic retinal camera was used to obtain stereo fundus photographs and FAF images were recorded with a cSLO Heidelberg Spectralis HRA+OCT. Visual acuity (VA) was measured using an Early Treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy Study chart. Contrast sensitivity (CS) was assessed with a Pelli-Robson chart. Dark adaptation (DA) curves were recorded at 3° eccentricity using a PC-based technique. Analysis of these curves yielded five parameters: cone threshold (CT), cone time constant (CC), cone-rod break (α), slope of the second rod component (S2), and rod-rod break (β)., Results: Both cone and rod sensitivity recovery were grossly abnormal in the patients. The rod recovery slope (S2) most accurately predicted the fundus photograph-based grade and the FAF classification (ρ = 0.61 and ρ = 0.60, respectively; both P < 0.0001). CS showed a strong association with FAF (ρ = 0.50, P < 0.0001) and with fundus photograph-based grade (ρ = 0.38, P < 0.002). There was no correlation between VA and either imaging method., Conclusions: Dynamic, rod-based measures most accurately reflect the severity of early AMD. Although less specific to AMD than DA changes, static photopic abnormalities such as CS also correspond with morphologic changes. Assessment of function in early AMD should include dynamic rod- and cone-mediated measurements of sensitivity recovery.

Purpose: To determine whether the ocular phenotype in patients with mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPSI) Hurler is affected by the efficacy of previous haemopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT)., Design: A retrospective cohort study of patients with MPSI who had undergone treatment with HSCT., Methods: Ocular phenotype was documented for each patient and compared to levels of biomarkers representing efficacy of previous transplantation., Main Outcome Measures: Assessment of visual acuity (VA), severity of corneal clouding and the presence of optic neuropathy or retinopathy. Biomarker assessment included dermatan sulphate/chondroitin sulphate (DS/CS) ratio and iduronidase enzyme level., Results: Severe corneal clouding was significantly greater in patients with lower iduronidase levels (p = 0.023) and raised DS/CS ratio (R 2  = 0.28 p = 0.043). Better VA was related to a higher iduronidase levels (R 2  = 0.15, p = 0.004) and lower DS/CS ratio (R 2  = 0.38, p = 0.001)., Conclusion: Improved ocular phenotypes in MPSI are associated with markers signifying efficacy of prior transplant. Purpose: To develop a neural network for the estimation of visual acuity from optical coherence tomography (OCT) images of patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and to demonstrate its use to model the impact of specific controlled OCT changes on vision., Design: Artificial intelligence (neural network) study., Methods: We assessed 1400 OCT scans of patients with neovascular AMD. Fifteen physical features for each eligible OCT, as well as patient age, were used as input data and corresponding recorded visual acuity as the target data to train, validate, and test a supervised neural network. We then applied this network to model the impact on acuity of defined OCT changes in subretinal fluid, subretinal hyperreflective material, and loss of external limiting membrane (ELM) integrity., Results: A total of 1210 eligible OCT scans were analyzed, resulting in 1210 data points, which were each 16-dimensional. A 10-layer feed-forward neural network with 1 hidden layer of 10 neurons was trained to predict acuity and demonstrated a root mean square error of 8.2 letters for predicted compared to actual visual acuity and a mean regression coefficient of 0.85. A virtual model using this network demonstrated the relationship of visual acuity to specific, programmed changes in OCT characteristics. When ELM is intact, there is a shallow decline in acuity with increasing subretinal fluid but a much steeper decline with equivalent increasing subretinal hyperreflective material. When ELM is not intact, all visual acuities are reduced. Increasing subretinal hyperreflective material or subretinal fluid in this circumstance reduces vision further still, but with a smaller gradient than when ELM is intact., Conclusions: The supervised machine learning neural network developed is able to generate an estimated visual acuity value from OCT images in a population of patients with AMD. These findings should be of clinical and research interest in macular degeneration, for example in estimating visual prognosis or highlighting the importance of developing treatments targeting more visually destructive pathologies., (Copyright © 2017 Elsevier Inc. Purpose: To report on the utility of a computer tablet-based method for automated testing of visual acuity in children based on the principles of game design. We describe the testing procedure and present repeatability as well as agreement of the score with accepted visual acuity measures., Design: Reliability and validity study., Methods: Setting: Manchester Royal Eye Hospital Pediatric Ophthalmology Outpatients Department., Patient Population: Total of 112 sequentially recruited patients., Intervention: For each patient 1 eye was tested with the Mobile Assessment of Vision by intERactIve Computer for Children (MAVERIC-C) system, consisting of a software application running on a computer tablet, housed in a bespoke viewing chamber. The application elicited touch screen responses using a game design to encourage compliance and automatically acquire visual acuity scores of participating patients. Acuity was then assessed by an examiner with a standard chart-based near ETDRS acuity test before the MAVERIC-C assessment was repeated., Main Outcome Measure: Reliability of MAVERIC-C near visual acuity score and agreement of MAVERIC-C score with near ETDRS chart for visual acuity., Results: Altogether, 106 children (95%) completed the MAVERIC-C system without assistance. The vision scores demonstrated satisfactory reliability, with test-retest VA scores having a mean difference of 0.001 (SD ±0.136) and limits of agreement of 2 SD (LOA) of ±0.267. Comparison with the near EDTRS chart showed agreement with a mean difference of -0.0879 (±0.106) with LOA of ±0.208., Conclusions: This study demonstrates promising utility for software using a game design to enable automated testing of acuity in children with ophthalmic disease in an objective and accurate manner., (Copyright © 2016 Elsevier Inc. Purpose: Many eye diseases require on-going assessment for optimal management, creating an ever-increasing burden on patients and hospitals that could potentially be reduced through home vision monitoring. However, there is limited evidence for the utility of current applications and devices for this. To address this, we present a new automated, computer tablet-based method for self-testing near visual acuity (VA) for both high and low contrast targets. We report on its reliability and agreement with gold standard measures., Methods: The Mobile Assessment of Vision by intERactIve Computer (MAVERIC) system consists of a calibrated computer tablet housed in a bespoke viewing chamber. Purpose-built software automatically elicits touch-screen responses from subjects to measure their near VA for either low or high contrast acuity. Near high contrast acuity was measured using both the MAVERIC system and a near Landolt C chart in one eye for 81 patients and low contrast acuity using the MAVERIC system and a 25 % contrast near EDTRS chart in one eye of a separate 95 patients. The MAVERIC near acuity was also retested after 20 min to evaluate repeatability., Results: Repeatability of both high and low contrast MAVERIC acuity measures, and their agreement with the chart tests, was assessed using the Bland-Altman comparison method. One hundred and seventy-three patients (96 %) completed the self- testing MAVERIC system without formal assistance. The resulting MAVERIC vision demonstrated good repeatability and good agreement with the gold-standard near chart measures., Conclusions: This study demonstrates the potential utility of the MAVERIC system for patients with ophthalmic disease to self-test their high and low contrast VA. The technique has a high degree of reliability and agreement with gold standard chart based measurements.

Purpose: To assess repeatability of visual function measures in patients with early, intermediate or late age-related macular degeneration (AMD) without active neovascular disease in the study eye, but active neovascular AMD in the fellow eye., Methods: One hundred subjects from an ongoing trial were screened for this study in which their LogMAR acuity, contrast sensitivity and reading performance were assessed using standardised protocols by trained optometrists. The same measures were repeated one month later and repeatability of the visual functions assessed., Results: Data from 83 subjects satisfied inclusion criteria for analysis. Coefficient of repeatability was 14.9 letters for LogMAR visual acuity , 7.2 letters for Pelli Robson contrast sensitivity, 0.72 for LogMAR reading acuity, 110.4 words/ min for reading speed and 0.67 for LogMAR critical print size. Intraclass correlation coefficients allowed comparison between measures and were found to be 0.96 for LogMAR visual acuity, 0.93 for contrast sensitivity, 0.75 for LogMAR reading acuity, 0.79 for reading speed and 0.74 for LogMAR critical print size. Coefficients of variation were 9.4 %, 10.7 %, 48.4 %, 28.4 % and 31.8 % respectively., Conclusions: We found coefficients of repeatability that concurred with previous studies demonstrating variability of visual functions in patients with AMD. In addition, we found intraclass correlation coefficients to be better with visual acuity and contrast sensitivity than with measures of reading performance.

Background: This paper attempts to clarify the usefulness of various simple pre-operative measures in estimating the potential for a visually successful capsulotomy., Methods: 24 patients attending for capsulotomy had pre-operative measures of glare with BAT tester, visibility of posterior pole and grading of posterior capsular pearls and fibrosis seen at slit lamp. Visual function was measured before and after standardised capsulotomy. Correlations of the various preoperative measures with eventual visual function improvements were calculated., Results: Pearls at slit lamp and poor posterior pole visualisation were all correlated with improvements in visual acuity and contrast sensitivity after capsulotomy. Amount of fibrosis visible at slit lamp and glare assessment were not correlated with vision improvements after laser., Conclusion: Of the various measures that are taken prior to Nd : YAG capsulotomy, some correlate with eventual visual improvement but for others no clinical utility was found. Practitioners should note these findings as they are especially of use in more questionable or high-risk cases to help determine whether referral for PCO treatment by Nd: YAG capsulotomy is likely to benefit the patient.

Background: This study explores the relative influence of fibrosis and pearl-type posterior capsule opacification (PCO) on visual function. It also examines the relevance of analyzing different central areas of posterior capsule on visual function., Methods: Thirty-eight eyes of 33 patients had their vision tested and posterior capsules photographed digitally. Each patient then underwent Nd:YAG laser capsulotomy. Patients returned 1 week later for repeat vision tests and photography. Analyses of areas of pearls and fibrosis were performed using the EPCO software system. The difference in these values before and after Nd:YAG laser capsulotomy was compared to change in vision for each patient. The effect of analyzing the central 1.5-, 2.5- and 3.5-mm zones was studied., Results: Stepwise multiple linear regression analysis shows that improvements in distance and near acuity are most strongly related to the central 1.5-2.5 mm of fibrosis and the central 3.5 mm of pearls. Improvements in contrast sensitivity are most strongly related to the central 1.5 mm of both fibrosis and pearls., Conclusion: In the assessment of PCO, the location and morphology of opacification correlate with visual function. Central fibrosis and paraxial pearls are important determinants of visual dysfunction.

Purpose: To share a useful intervention to minimize risk of COVID-19 infection to both healthcare workers and patients in the eye clinic. Methods: We present our experience of virtual, within-clinic remote visual acuity assessment to reduce the risk of infection with COVID-19. Results: Along with standard recommendations for personal protective equipment and hand hygiene to contain viral spread and treating only urgent cases, remote within-clinic visual acuity testing and consultations can be undertaken with minimal specialist equipment and appears to provide useful information whilst being acceptable to patients. Conclusion: Ophthalmology practice must adapt in order to combat COVID-19. This measure can easily be incorporated into daily practice to reduce both patient footfall within the department and close contact between patient and healthcare practitioners. Purpose: A vignette study to examine treatment decisions made by UK hospital optometrists in patients with neovascular age‐related macular degeneration (nAMD) and the effect of optometrists' experience on agreement. Methods: Patients with nAMD attending Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, Manchester, UK were identified as potential candidates for the case series of vignettes. The cases were chosen to reflect a varied case‐mix with respect to difficulty as well as ensuring good quality of the images. Each vignette included a history summary consisting of the number of previous injections given and visual acuity measurements at baseline, the previous visit, and the current visit. Images were compiled to show baseline fundus photographs and ocular coherence tomography (OCT) images with the current visit images on which the treatment decision was to be made along with the images from the previous visit. Hospital optometrists were recruited and asked to complete the series of vignettes, deciding if treatment was required at that visit and how confident they felt with that decision. Their responses were compared to the reference standard created by a consensus of consultant ophthalmologists with a sub‐speciality interest in medical retina. Results: Regarding treatment decision for optometrists, the percentage correct value was 75% with the sensitivity being 75.6% (95% CI 70.1–80.3) and the specificity as 75.1% (95% CI 72.1–77.8). No statistically significant difference was found between differing levels of experience. However, there was a significant difference in confidence levels between groups. Potentially sight threatening decisions accounted for 6.4% of the optometrists' decisions, 3.5% were made with a high confidence rating suggesting no discussion with an ophthalmologist was required. Conclusions: Although the optometrists showed modest agreement with the reference standard in a series of cases that have higher than average complexity, the optometrists showed a similar amount of variability within their treatment decisions compared to the reference standard. The optometrists were therefore not inferior in their performance compared to the ophthalmologists and this can be seen as supporting evidence for their extended role within this clinical area. Importance: The study highlights the role of optical coherence angiography in the management of patients with neovascular age‐related macular degeneration (nAMD) who have developed sub‐retinal fibrosis. Background: Development of sub‐retinal fibrosis in the context of nAMD is known to adversely affect visual function. The aim of this study is to assess structure and flow features obtained through swept‐source optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in patients with sub‐retinal fibrosis and associate these with visual acuity (VA). Design: Institutional retrospective cohort study. Participants: A total 39 eyes of 39 patients with nAMD with sub‐retinal fibrosis imaged with OCTA were included in this study. Methods: Patients underwent swept‐source OCTA. Thickness of sub‐retinal hyper‐reflective material (SHRM) and presence and configuration of a choroidal neovascular membrane were recorded in each case. Main Outcome Measures: A univariate multiple regression was performed seeking associations between VA and structural and flow OCTA features. Results: Average VA on the date of OCTA was 53 ± 22 ETDRS letters. Average thickness of centre‐involving SHRM was 157 ± 73 μm. A choroidal neovascular membrane was detectable in 26 cases and not detectable in 13. VA was independently influenced by thickness of SHRM (P = 0.034) and presence of a detectable choroidal neovascular membrane (P = 0.02) on OCTA. Conclusions and Relevance: Poorer VA in patients with nAMD and sub‐retinal fibrosis is associated with presence of a detectable neovascular membrane on OCTA. Introduction: The aim of this study was to demonstrate and explore the ability of novel game-based perimetry to establish normal visual field thresholds in children. Methods: One hundred and eighteen children (aged 8.0 ± 2.8 years old) with no history of visual field loss or significant medical history were recruited. Each child had one eye tested using a game-based visual field test 'Caspar's Castle' at four retinal locations 12.7° ( N = 118) from fixation. Thresholds were established repeatedly using up/down staircase algorithms with stimuli of varying diameter (luminance 20 cd/m, duration 200 ms, background luminance 10 cd/m). Relationships between threshold and age were determined along with measures of intra- and intersubject variability. Results: The Game-based visual field test was able to establish threshold estimates in the full range of children tested. Threshold size reduced with increasing age in children. Intrasubject variability and intersubject variability were inversely related to age in children. Conclusions: Normal visual field thresholds were established for specific locations in children using a novel game-based visual field test. Technological advances have led to the development of powerful yet portable tablet computers whose touch-screen resolutions now permit the presentation of targets small enough to test the limits of normal visual acuity. Such devices have become ubiquitous in daily life and are moving into the clinical space. However, in order to produce clinically valid tests, it is important to identify the limits imposed by the screen characteristics, such as resolution, brightness uniformity, contrast linearity and the effect of viewing angle. Previously we have conducted such tests on the iPad 3. Here we extend our investigations to 2 other devices and outline a protocol for calibrating such screens, using standardised methods to measure the gamma function, warm up time, screen uniformity and the effects of viewing angle and screen reflections. We demonstrate that all three devices manifest typical gamma functions for voltage and luminance with warm up times of approximately 15 minutes. However, there were differences in homogeneity and reflectance among the displays. We suggest practical means to optimise quality of display for vision testing including screen calibration. Purpose: To characterize the rate of rod-mediated sensitivity decline with age using a PC-driven cathode ray tube (CRT) monitor. To provide data regarding the repeatability of the technique. Methods: Dark adaptation was monitored for 30 min following a minimum 30 % pigment bleach, using a white 1° stimulus (modulated at 1 Hz), presented 11° below fixation on a CRT monitor. Thirty-three subjects with no ocular pathology and normal fundus photographs were divided into two groups: older (≥45, n = 16) and younger (<45, n = 17). Results: Rod recovery was assessed using component S2 of dark adaptation. S2 was significantly slower in the older (0.19 ± 0.03 log cd.m.min) compared with the younger group (0.23 ± 0.03 log cd.m.min, t = −4.05, p < 0.0003), despite no difference in visual acuity and fundus appearance. Faster rates of S2 recovery were correlated with lower threshold at 30 min (T) ( r = −0.49). Correlation coefficients between first and second measurements for S2 and T were 0.49 ( p < 0.009) and 0.84 ( p < 0.0001) respectively. The coefficient of repeatability was 0.07 log cd.m.min for S2 and 0.35 log cd.m for T. The coefficients of variation for S2 and T were 15 % and 10 % respectively. Conclusions: Dark adaptation is slowed in normal ageing. CRT-based dark adaptometry is easily implemented and highly repeatable. The technique described in this article would be useful for documenting visual changes in future clinical trials assessing retinal health in the older eye with and without ocular pathology. Disability glare describes the loss of retinal image contrast as a result of intraocular light scatter, or straylight. It has increasingly important modern implications such as with cataract and refractive surgery or high-intensity lighting. However, its measurement has proven difficult despite many varying approaches. This article aims to explain the principles and problems associated with glare testing that are important for assessment and use of glare measures. After defining disability glare, this article discusses the importance of its measurement to current clinical practice. It explains the principles and mechanisms that underlie disability glare and its measurement. Finally, some examples of available glare tests are described to illustrate the principles discussed. Background: Early identification of AMD can lead to prompt and more effective treatment, better outcomes, and better final visual acuity; several risk scores have been devised to determine the individual level of risk for developing AMD. Herein, the Delphi method was used to provide recommendations for daily practice regarding preventive measures and follow-up required for subjects at low, moderate, and high risk of AMD evaluated with the Simplified Test AMD Risk-assessment Scale (STARS®) questionnaire. Methods: A steering committee of three experts drafted and refined 25 statements on the approach to be recommended in different clinical situations [general recommendations (n = 2), use of evaluation tools (n = 4), general lifestyle advice (n = 3), and AREDS-based nutritional supplementation (n = 5)] with the help of a group of international experts, all co-authors of this paper. Thirty retinal specialists from Europe and the US were chosen based on relevant publications, clinical expertise, and experience in AMD, who then provided their level of agreement with the statements. Statements for which consensus was not reached were modified and voted upon again. Results: In the first round of voting, consensus was reached for 24 statements. After modification, consensus was then reached for the remaining statement. Conclusion: An interprofessional guideline to support preventive measures in patients at risk of AMD based on STARS® scoring has been developed to aid clinicians in daily practice, which will help to optimize preventive care of patients at risk of AMD. Purpose: To describe the types and prevalence of long-term, established pseudophakic dysphotopsia in a typical population more than a year after cataract extraction. Design: Cross-sectional observational study. Methods: Fifty-five patients who had undergone cataract surgery more than a year before were administered a questionnaire that was based on photographic images of photic phenomena. Results: Dysphotopsia were found in 18 of 55 patients. There was a predominance of halos and starburst effects but also substantial symptoms of arc effect, streams of light, and central flash. There was no correlation between measured dysphotopsia and age, final attained acuity, or contrast sensitivity. Conclusions: Dysphotopsia in the operated eye was still a common symptom in its many forms more than a year after uncomplicated cataract surgery. Uncorrected refractive error is a major cause of vision impairment, and is indexed by visual acuity. Availability of vision assessment is limited in low/middle-income countries and in minority groups in high income countries. eHealth tools offer a solution; two-thirds of the globe own mobile devices. This is a scoping review of the number and quality of tools for self-testing visual acuity. Software applications intended for professional clinical use were excluded. Keyword searches were conducted on Google online, Google Play and iOS store. The first 100 hits in each search were screened against inclusion criteria. After screening, 42 tools were reviewed. Tools assessed near and distance vision. About half (n = 20) used bespoke optotypes. The majority (n = 25) presented optotypes one by one. Four included a calibration procedure. Only one tool was validated against gold standard measures. Many self-test tools have been published, but lack validation. There is a need for regulation of tools for the self-testing of visual acuity to reduce potential risk or confusion to users. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: In the UK, macular laser is the treatment of choice for people with diabetic macular oedema with central retinal subfield thickness (CST) < 400 μm, as per National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines. It remains unclear whether subthreshold micropulse laser is superior and should replace standard threshold laser for the treatment of eligible patients.Methods: DIAMONDS is a pragmatic, multicentre, allocation-concealed, randomised, equivalence, double-masked clinical trial that aims to determine the clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of subthreshold micropulse laser compared with standard threshold laser, for the treatment of diabetic macular oedema with CST < 400 μm. The primary outcome is the mean change in best-corrected visual acuity in the study eye from baseline to month 24 post treatment. Secondary outcomes (at 24 months) include change in binocular best corrected visual acuity; CST; mean deviation of the Humphrey 10-2 visual field; change in percentage of people meeting driving standards; European Quality of Life-5 Dimensions, National Eye Institute Visual Functioning Questionnaire-25 and VisQoL scores; incremental cost per quality-adjusted life year gained; side effects; number of laser treatments and use of additional therapies. The primary statistical analysis will be per protocol rather than intention-to-treat analysis because the latter increases type I error in non-inferiority or equivalence trials. The difference between lasers for change in best-corrected visual acuity (using 95% CI) will be compared to the permitted maximum difference of five Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) letters. Linear and logistic regression models will be used to compare outcomes between treatment groups. A Markov-model-based cost-utility analysis will extend beyond the trial period to estimate longer-term cost-effectiveness.Discussion: This trial will determine the clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of subthreshold micropulse laser, when compared with standard threshold laser, for the treatment of diabetic macular oedema, the main cause of sight loss in people with diabetes mellitus.Trial Registration: International Standard Randomised Controlled Trials, ISRCTN17742985 .
